For this Elite Guardian, protecting her client’s daughter just got personal.
Elite Guardian Alana Flores, former LAPD underwater dive detective, just wants a fresh start in Savannah, Georgia, with her son, Rocco. Hoping to repair their broken relationship, and provide a safer, more stable life, nothing could be more disastrous to her hopes than when they find a terrified, autistic child in her shed.
Oh no.
Enter Cash Thomas, a widowed trauma surgeon struggling to raise his autistic daughter, Penny. He’s put his wife’s disappearance and presumed death behind him…until someone tries to kidnap his daughter. Terrified of losing Penny to the same cartel that supposedly killed his wife, he turns to Alana and the Elite Guardians.
But is Sonia really dead? Or is she behind the kidnapping attempts? Cash and Alana must keep their children safe, uncover the truth about Sonia, and find a way to outsmart the cartel before it's too late.
And what about the spark between them? Could this be the fresh start they both long for? Certainly not while their children are in danger. And when their worst fears happen, will they lose everything?
With heart-pounding foot chases on River Street, underwater thrills off Tybee Island, and a climactic showdown at Forsyth Fountain, Vanishing Legacy will leave you breathless.

Lynette Eason grew up in Greenville, SC. She graduated from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, and then obtained her masters in education from Converse College. Author of twenty inspirational romantic suspense books, she is also a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) and Romance Writers of America (RWA). In 1996, Lynette married "the boy next door" and now she and her husband and their two children make their home in Simpsonville, South Carolina."
I really enjoyed jumping back into the Elite Guardians world. You do not have to have read the original or follow up series to begin reading the Elite Guardians: Savannah series. Readers did meet Alana in the previous series as a side character as well as in the Christmas novella collection that comes directly before this book. However, you can begin fresh with this story without prior knowledge of her character if you want to.
I really liked the dynamic between Alana and Cash as well as with the children, Rocco and Penny. With Penny on the autism spectrum, it added an extra layer to the way she processed situations and even how she handled various attempts to kidnap her. It was fun to see how Alana and her son, Rocco, related to Penny.
The action in the story was very high intensity and there were a couple of times that I had to suspend reality a bit to accept that the characters could actually survive some of the things that they went through. But, this is fiction and so I enjoyed the wildness of it all and cheered for the characters as they overcame so many obstacles. This was a nice introduction to a new series and I look forward to reading the future stories. And I have to say that I loved the epilogue to this story. It was so fun!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Excellent romantic suspense, I loved every moment! Authentic characters, perfectly paced story with page turning suspense. LOVED the latest by new favorite suspense author Kate Angelo. The best romantic suspense I’ve read in a long time!
Alana is a superhero. Plain and simple she's now an amazing bodyguard with the Elite Guardians in Savannah. A former law enforcement agent with the LAPD SWAT team, and member of the Los Angeles Underwater Dive Unit, she is athletic, caring, tough, and has overcome a difficult childhood. She tries to do the right thing without counting the cost to herself. "Alana's stalker takedown didn't share many details, but the multiple videos on social media painted a pretty good picture of her capabilities."
She is a great mom to her sweet, caring, & intelligent type 1 diabetic son, Rocco. They have a regimented life and he takes school, his robotics project and his diabetes seriously.
Dr Cash Thomas is a navy veteran, a surgeon, and a terrific single dad to Penny. With his grueling work schedule, his on-call schedule, and caring for his sweet young, autistic daughter, he doesn't have time for anything else. The author did a beautiful job capturing what it was like for Penny. She is so sweet, and thankfully she does not always comprehend the danger of a situation. She would sometimes scream because she couldn't process everything at the moment. Rocco becomes her friend and really helps Penny. Alana tells him how great he is at helping Penny relax when's she's getting upset. Love this quote from Rocco: "I tell her to wait until the words come and she stops. Then the words come."
I highly recommend Vanishing Legacy for lovers of romantic suspense, it's an excellent story!
Thank you to Sunrise Publishing for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.
Oh, wowzer... some interesting twist there. Um, yeah...
Characters: Alana (which is the foster sister of Christina from Driving Force) is a great gal...lot of stuff in her past (always seems to be with these sort of books😂, can't someone come from a nice normal family and be in the army or law enforcement?). Anyway, I loved her relationship with her son Rocco! Cash was a super nice guy...also a tragic backstory, ...mostly just sad. But the way he tenderly cared for and protected Penny was so sweet!
Themes: That through the ups and the downs God is always with us.
Romance: Very speedy....literal two weeks and they were head over heels...a bit fast for me.
Language: N/A
Violence/Gore: Gunshot wounds (Cash is a trauma surgeon), shots, and other injuries...attempted kidnappings, etc.
Overall: This was a really intense read. And I enjoyed it quite a lot.
Vanishing Legacy grabbed my attention with the prologue from the young child, Penny’s POV and never let it go right till the end.
Chase’s drive to protect his daughter from the unknown threat made it easy to connect to this single dad. Penny and Rocco’s connection was sweet to see and created a bit more hearty, warm moments in between the action and suspense.
Alana, a strong single mom, had some powerful action scenes where she still showed vulnerability and got hurt. The action scenes were really well written – I could see the fighting and Alana’s struggle to beat the assailants and protect Penny.
I appreciated that the author handled a difficult topic of autism through Penny in such a sensitive and elegant way.
The suspense plot had me guessing right till the end!
I enjoyed catching up with Christina from the author’s first novel and looking forward to getting to know the other guardians of the Savannah office through this series.
*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.*
I was so excited to hear that there would be another spinoff series from Lynette Eason's Elite Guardians: Savannah Guardians, this time it's Elite Guardians: Savannah. I was even more interested to hear that the same lineup of co-authors would be back. Vanishing Legacy starts off the new series with a real bang and Kate Angelo doesn't give her characters or readers a moment's breath.
Full of action and surprises, Vanishing Legacy really got the story started off right. Kate Angelo did a good job of weaving the suspense and romantic threads together in a way that kept the story always moving forward. She also has quite the mystery going in this first Elite Guardians: Savannah novel, and I was kept guessing right up until the end.
I enjoyed every bit of reading Vanishing Legacy from Kate Angelo and I am highly anticipating the next Elite Guardians: Savannah title from a different author when it releases. Of course, I always say you can't go wrong with a good romantic suspense book...
(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
I was drawn into the story right from the beginning. The book starts in little Penny Thomas’ point of view, which was a unique way to begin the story but quite the hook. I was invested on page one. The characters, grownups and children, are likable. The action is nonstop until the epilogue. If you’re like me, you’ll be guessing the whole way as to who the villain is and why Penny is so important. One thing I particularly enjoyed was that Penny was neurodivergent. Angelo showed, beautifully, that while Penny might have some delayed development, she was highly intelligent. There is a faith element but it's not preachy. And, of course, there is romance. It’s an entertaining fast read.
It’s another fun, action-packed romantic suspense from Kate Angelo and Lynette Eason. I loved the setting of Savannah for this new series and the new faces. Alana was a fierce protector with a loving and tender heart. Her son Rocco was a great secondary character with his thoughtful and brilliant ways. Cash was a memorable hero - a little helpless in ways of protection but fully capable as a trauma surgeon and such a fantastic father to Penny. The action was fast-paced and the plot held plenty of twists and turns. The sweet friendship that Rocco and Penny develop added depth to the emotional layers of the story.
This series promises to be another fun expansion of the Elite Guardians. I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Sunrise Publishing via JustRead Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.
Elite Guardian Alana Flores has had a rough day protecting an author from a female stalker, but when she gets home, she cannot find her ten-year-old diabetic son. She notices the shed door is open and suspects that Rocco is cannibalizing parts from the lawnmower for his robotic project again. However, as she approaches the shed door, a huge man with a small girl in his arms nearly bowls her over. Because of her martial arts background, Alana rescues the little girl, Penny, and finds Rocco who had come to the shed to help Penny. The would-be kidnapper threatens to come back.
Dr. Cash Thomas, too, has had a rough day. He lost a young gunshot wound victim on the operating table in the E.R. As he is about to leave, he is called to operate on another gunshot victim but finds it is his nanny, and his little autistic girl is missing. Frantic, he haunts the police until they receive a call from Alana.
When he arrives at Alana's house with the police, he finds that Penny has bonded with Rocco, something highly unusual for her. He also finds Alana attractive. His divorced wife disappeared during a hurricane a few years earlier.
Following another attempt to kidnap Penny, Cash hires the Elite Guardian team to protect his daughter and himself. The big question remains: who wants Penny? Why? Is his ex-wife really alive?
I enjoyed this fast-paced Christian suspense story. My only complaint is that I thought the romance moved a little fast. I enjoyed how Rocco and Penny bonded in an unusual friendship and that the kids were usually likeable, respectful, and unique with their challenges.
I am absolutely thrilled to be back with the Elite Guardians in Vanishing Legacy! If you read the first three books, plus the Christmas anthology, you’ll be excited to know that the same three authors are writing this spin-off trilogy, too. Kate Angelo takes the helm for Vanishing Legacy, and she starts us off with a bang…literally! Seven year old Penny Thomas is on her way to speech therapy with her nanny, part of the weekly routine for the young girl with ASD, Autism Spectrum Disorder. But her routine is suddenly interrupted by an attempted kidnapping…hers. Elite Guardian (at the newly opened Savannah office) and single mom Alana Flores arrives home to find a man in her backyard taking a child! She stops him, but not without threats as he makes his escape. Single dad Dr. Cash Thomas is Penny’s father, and he will do anything to protect his little girl. But he realizes he can’t do it alone, so the Elite Guardians step in. Penny and Rocco (Alana’s son) quickly bond, which helps as Penny’s routine is constantly thrown off by whoever is determined to kidnap her. There’s no denying the sparks between Alana and Cash, but besides the priorities of their children, there is some emotional baggage the Lord needs to help each of them unload before they can even think a future together might be a possibility. Settle in. Seriously. Because once you read the first page, you can’t stop until the last! Plus it has my favorite…an epilogue! I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.
A former LAPD detective and a trauma surgeon make the perfect pair in this story. Vanishing Legacy is everything I love in a novel. Action, suspense, mystery, romance, relatable and likable main characters.
I love how both main characters have pasts that have molded them into who they are, and they are not bitter about their experiences, instead using them to help others.
This novel was intense and fast-paced, keeping me guessing until the very end. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys suspense novels! The romance was sweet, and very well written. I appreciate the way the author handled the single parent aspects of her main characters and how they both respected their children’s feelings.
Kate Angelo has quickly become one of my autobuy authors. I love her characters and her writing style.
A special thank you to the author and publisher for a chance to read an early copy of the book!
Romantic Suspense novels need to be full of action with a hint of romance. In Vanishing Legacy by Lynette Eason and Kate Angelo, the story does have a guiding suspenseful act that guides the heroine and hero through the story, but I felt like at moments, the romance was the main plot thread. Because of this, the story dragged on. I did enjoy when someone tripped an alarm or tried to kidnap Penny for, what seemed like, the hundredth time. But then the story would move back to Cash and Alana trying to figure out their budding feelings for each other. Personally, I really saw how the characters had different, yet similar backgrounds, which makes for dynamic characters, but for some reason, their characterization did not stand out to me. They could have been standing in a crowded room, and nothing about them really stood out from everyone else. The spiritual aspects was not there either. Overall, I wanted Vanishing Legacy to enthrall readers and keep readers guessing. Kind of missed the mark for me.
I received a complimentary copy of Vanishing Legacy by Lynette Eason and Kate Angelo from Sunrise Publishing through JustRead Tours, but the opinions stated are all my own.
Vanishing Legacy is an intense, exciting story from start to finish.
Alana is an Elite Guardians bodyguard who is also a mom to a son who is diabetic. She's got the smarts and tons of skills from her time with the LAPD.
Cash is a doctor who's a widower with an autistic young daughter. Someone keeps trying to kidnap her, and for protection, Chase hires the Elite Guardians.
This story had a lot of great action and the ending!! I didn't see that coming at all.
Vanishing Legacy is the perfect start for the new Elite Guardians: Savannah series! Elite Guardian, Alana Flores leads the protection detail for Dr. Cash Thomas and his daughter, Penny. This book takes off in a blast and doesn’t slow down until the end. Kate Angelo, with Lynette Eason, has penned a story that hits all the right notes for a well balanced, edge of your seat, high speed and high stakes book. There are unexpected and interesting twists throughout Vanishing Legacy! The faith element is well blended throughout. I highly recommend this book. My thanks to the publisher for an ARC of this book. The opinions stated here are completely my own.
This is such an exciting read! I could not put this one down, the story pulled me in from the opening pages and it was a thrilling read all the way to the end. The mystery kept me guessing at how the pieces were going to come together and the romance between Alana and Cash was sweet. My favorite thing about the book though was Penny. As a mom to a special needs child, this touched my heart in so many ways. Then there’s Alana’s son Rocco, he was wonderful with the way he cared about and took care of Penny during the case. A truly excellent read!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
This was one of the most heart pumping and enjoyable books I have read in a long time! I have read all of the Elite Guardians books out so far and can’t wait to read the rest! I was given this advanced copy to give an honest review. I can honestly say I preordered it before I received the copy and it is definitely worth every Penny! When you read the book you will see why I capitalized the P in Penny. You will fall in love with this precious girl as well as Rocco. If you have a child with extra needs you will love this book!
Loved this book, which evidently could be read without testing the other Elite Guardians series, though I felt like there were some references to things I get like I missed by not reading the other series. Think I'll go back to read those before continuing with this one. I liked that they were both single parents and had kids with special needs.
This was such a great story. It had me from the first page. The Easter egg of author S. M. Warren had me in stitches. The Elite Guardians series just gets better and better.
Well, this one starts off with a bang! There's a lot to love about this book, and I've got high hopes for the series overall. The characters are dynamic and believable; the plot is one that will genuinely keep you guessing. It's not often that I find a story where I don't immediately know whodunnit, so this one had a few twists, turns, and false leads that really kept my attention. If you've read CHRISTMAS IN THE CROSSHAIRS, you've met Alana and Rocco already! It was fun to get to know these characters more. Additionally, the accurate representation of an autistic child and the various triumphs and struggles related to parenting or otherwise caring for Penny was great to read. (Angelo's disability representation is one of my favorite things about her books!) If you enjoy fast-paced romantic suspense, relatable characters, and rollercoaster plot twists, this is definitely a good one to pick up ASAP!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Get ready for a fabulous series as the Elite Guardians Agency has expanded and created another branch in Savannah, Georgia. Vanishing Legacy focuses on Alana who must protect Cash and his daughter Penny, who has autism, from danger. Alana has a tough front but learns to let her softer side come out. Angelo did a wonderful job capturing Penny and her ASD accurately, and I enjoyed how Alana's son Rocco befriended Penny. Vanishing Legacy is a fast-paced, action-packed suspense story with twists and turns. It will leave you on the edge of your seat as you race through the pages until the end.
Fast paced inspirational romantic suspense. The audio version is excellent. Loved both characters and their children. Lynette Eason is one of the best romantic suspense authors, in secular and nonsecular books.
Author Kate Angelo’s “Vanishing Legacy” is chock-full of action and held me captive from the first page to the end! Angelo wove this tale of truth and lies throughout the historic streets of Savannah, Georgia. Dangerous threats have emerged in a city where history has lived in every street, nook, and cranny since the Civil War, if not before. As the title of this story intends, there are threads of mystery that lure the reader to contemplate the legacy which remains untold! “Vanishing Legacy” began with the mayhem that a crazed fan brought to a book signing event highlighting a famous author’s new work. The excitement unfolded, statements were given, and the wheels of justice began to turn. However, as the story shifts, so do the protection details and its events – all in the same day. As Alana Flores, a member of the Elite Guardians branch located in Savannah discovers, even the littlest of people need protection too. Once chaos reigns, courage is what it takes to defend a place called home. Working as a single father doing his best to serve his city, in the same way that he served his country, Cash often wonders what is best for his daughter. His heart in the service was involved in saving lives as a surgeon in a military action. After his daughter’s mother passed away, he chose to be the best dad he could be and serve the city of Savannah as a surgeon. Honestly, he just wants to love his daughter the best that he can and provide for her needs as he is best able to do, while working at his life’s passion within the surgical unit of the hospital. Yet, he also has a goal to become the Chief of Surgery, a role which will enable him more stability and time to be the father he would like to be. Throughout this story, even as the murder, mayhem, and attempted kidnappings occurred repeatedly, the ongoing suspense kept me turning the pages. The Elite Guardians, as a team of experts in safeguarding clients, have been hired to assist Cash and his little girl, Penny. They are a team who will do what it takes to keep this child with special needs safe. As the attempted kidnappings and suspense escalate, Cash and Alana are drawn closer together, with the realization that there is something growing between them. When the worst outcome happened, they both realized that their hearts were involved, yet the danger had not ended. As this book concluded, I was left with many emotions of elation, understanding and triumph. Angelo should do a victory dance as this book held everything this reader could ask for: mystery, drama, suspense, as well as emotions of honor, trust, and love. I especially loved the location this story took place – as an armchair history buff of all things Civil War, Savannah drew me in with my heart on my sleeve! I gave this book a 5 out of 5 and could barely put it down. Thank you, Author Kate Angelo for such an engaging plot and a fast-paced ride!

What a thrilling ride from the first page to the last! I love Lynette Eason’s books, so when she teamed up with Kate Angelo for Vanishing Legacy, the first book in new Elite Guardians: Savannah series, I had to read it. It was fantastic! The suspense was nonstop as Elite Guardian, former LAPD underwater dive detective, & single mom Alana Flores risks her life to protect a sweet little girl someone is bent on kidnapping.
Alana is looking for a new start with her eleven year old diabetic son Rocco. She believes Savannah, Georgia will provide a more stable environment. However when she finds a young autistic girl hiding in her shed, her and Rocco’s world is about to get turned upside down.
Dr. Cash Thomas is a former navy, trauma surgeon trying to manage his busy ER schedule with raising his special needs daughter Penny after his wife’s death. When he learns she’s missing in a traumatic way, he does everything he can to find her. Luckily, she’s found safe and sound with Alana Flores. But, Penny’s not out of danger yet and Cash turns to the attractive, sympathetic body guard to help keep his daughter safe.
From dangerous car chases, to thrilling hot air balloon rides, to underwater discoveries, this book is one suspenseful moment after another as Alana tries to discover who wants to kidnap Penny and why. I loved the chemistry between Cash and Alana. Both are fantastic single parents trying their best to raise children with complicated needs. Neither one was looking for love yet they’re a perfect match.
I loved the depth of their characters and how much Alana overcame in her past. Both have strong faith which was beautifully woven into the story. I loved Rocco and Penny and how well they’re written. Rocco becomes a kind of instant big brother to Penny & has the magic touch when it comes to knowing how to help her when she’s struggling to communicate.
The mystery kept me guessing with several moving parts and subplots that all come together for an exciting climax. The motives for Penny’s kidnapping were surprising and unique. It’s a must read for romantic suspense fans! I’m excited to read more about these strong Elite Guardian women! I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.
Oh my goodness. These Elite Guardian books just get better and better. The Elite Guardians are a bunch of tough as nails women who serve as security and bodyguards. You better not assume anything is soft about these women. They are not called "Elite" for the fun of it. I love nothing better than a strong, fierce female main character.
This is the beginning of Elite Guardians Savannah series. I enjoyed the fact that it was based in Savannah. Savannah is a special place for me and my family, which made this book even more special as I recognized landmarks as they were mentioned.
Alana Flores has recently joined the team in Savannah. She is a former LAPD SWAT member and a member of their dive team. She is also a mixed martial arts expert. When she arrives home after an especially draining day, she is shocked to find a little girl being dragged from her outbuilding. She saves the little girl, Penny Thomas.
Penny's father is Dr. Cash Thomas, a surgeon, who just learned that someone tried to kidnap his daughter. The Elite Guardians at your service.
There were some hair raising chase scenes. This was a jet-fueled mystery that explodes from the first chapter and does not slow down until the end. Both Alana and Cash had special bonds with their children and had extreme loss from their past. Alana's past, though rocky, had profoundly shaped her future, which made her want to help other kids like herself. She was wise beyond her years. "You know, sometimes I think of life as being like a mountain range. There are peaks where everything seems to go wrong. But in the end, it's the combination of the peaks and valleys that makes the view so beautiful." This was a touching statement of how to view life's ups and downs stated by Alana Flores.
This one has it all - mystery and intrigue, romance, as well as real people with real life problems. I highly recommend this book and this entire series.
Thank you to Sunrise Publishing for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Surgeon Cash Thomas learns his autistic daughter Penny was kidnapped and escaped after hiding in a shed belongjng to Elite Guardian Alana Flores and her son Rocco. After more attempts to steal Penny, Cash hires the Elite Guardians to protect her -- specifically Alana, since she and Rocco have already established a bond with Penny. Turns out, the kidnappings are just the visible tip of an iceberg of family secrets and tragedies. I absolutely love this book (I wrote out a vague outline of a book I wanted to write one day, and the base premise is actually similar, so it makes sense that it's right up my alley). I adore the bonds between Penny and Rocco as well as Cash and his sister Bailey. I love the chemistry and sweet relationship that form between Cash and Alana (though the timeline was fast). And I love that Alana starts calling Cash, Bailey, and Penny (in addition to Rocco, of course) her family. And that she recently discovered that Christina Sherman Parker is her sister! Tons of action, including a pursuit unique from any other I have read. Only thing I disliked was when Alana said Cash was like a missing part of her soul, and here's why: God said the two become one, not two parts. There are a lot of girls and women who get into relationships with men, thinking it will make them feel complete and fulfilled, when that's God's job. And single ladies sometimes think they can't be happy or fulfilled while single. Lastly, a taser was used, but it was called both a taser and a stun gun. Tasers shoot probes, like in the book, while a stun gun requires direct contact. I really hope Elite Guardian books keep on coming with branches all over the country! I cannot get enough of these.
Vanishing Legacy Elite Guardians: Savannah #1 By Kate Angelo and Lynette Eason
The Elite Guardians have come to Savannah. Not for a visit but as a permanent fixture for the foreseeable future. What Alana Flores never expected was to have a case literally come out of her backyard shed.
Penny Thomas escaped a kidnapper only to be targeted again. Why would anyone target a terrified 7-year old girl is a question Alana, the Elite Guardians and Penny's father Cash want to know. Because until they can figure out the why they can't stop the kidnapping attempts. What's worse, Penny's autism makes the experiences even more terrifying and disruptive. And when Alana's son Rocco makes a connection with Penny he too is added to the danger.
Vanishing Legacy is the first book in the spin-off series Elite Guardians: Savannah. With a whole new cast of characters and a new setting this has a new feel to it while building on the same standards of the pervious one. This book offers some intense moments when Alana has to jump into action. Can I just say there are balloons involved? And that they float? Never mind, I just did.
If you like Suspense that will keep you turning the pages late into the night, with a touch of clean romance thrown in, you'll want to give this book a try. It's fairly fast-paced and will grab and keep your attention from cover-to-cover! I know because I stayed up way too late for an early morning workday. My bad! But I had to know what was coming next and the who behind everything!
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.
I’m a huge fan of the Guardians series and so was extremely happy to see they were coming back in a new series with a character I’d met before as the lead!
Alana is a single mom of a little boy who is a diabetic. If you read the other series and the minis that go along with it you’d know that they suffered a near tragedy and escaped a madman. It was time for a change. And so they moved to Georgia. Where Alana began working with this branch of the Guardians.
Her current assignment is protecting an author from a crazed stalker. Keep an eye on this stalker. She’s important later on. Anyway, I’m trying really hard to not give you spoilers here!
But then she meets a sweet little girl. Penny has lost her mother and is raised by her single dad. She’s a special child just like Rocco in that she’s on the spectrum and has trouble communicating.
When Penny literally shows up in her yard needing rescue she becomes protective of the child and finally Cash, Penny’s dad, realizes he needs the Guardians help and thus begins the rest of the story.
Who is after Penny? Can Alana keep her safe? What about Cash? And Rocco for that matter? Penny and Rocco seem to have a sweet bond as well.
This was an amazing book. It read super quickly. I could not put it down. You’ll understand why when you start reading it I’m sure!
I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from JustRead Publicity Tours. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. 3.5 stars "I was doing my homework at the table when I saw her crawl through the hole under our fence and run in there. She looked so scared . . . "
The last thing that Elite Guardian Alana Flores expected to find after a harrowing day on the job was danger in her own back yard. Not only did she discover where her son had disappeared to, but she literally collided with a man who had a young girl under his arm, whose flailing limbs and screaming cries put Alana in instantaneous protective mode. What in the world?
The last thing that trauma surgeon Dr. Cash Thomas expected to learn after a particularly rough rotation; that his daughter Penny had disappeared from an accident scene and was missing . . . his young autistic daughter for whom communication was a struggle. Thankfully she turned up in the back yard of a professional bodyguard? What in the world . . . . . times two.
Twisting and turning from beginning to end, this harrowing romantic suspense includes two delightfully dynamic duos; a son and a daughter, a father and a mother. How those relationships change is secondary to how they manage to stay alive. An enjoyable story by an emerging voice in romantic suspense who successfully pulls off an exhilarating finish! (plus some pretty romantic moments under a piano!)
" . . when we are in the valleys, we don't usually notice the beauty all around us. We can only see the struggles . ... . when we reach the top of the mountain, we get a different perspective. . . . . Sometimes we need the valley to appreciate the beauty of the mountains."
