This was a really fun and unexpected sort of story....the heroine is in the wrong place at the wrong time, causing the hero to be attacked by a bear. Her father punishes her by insisting that she nurse the hero back to health. She soon discovers that the hero, Rylan, could lose everything if an upcoming cattle sale goes wrong. And Maizy may be the only one who can save his property.

I really struggled to get into this story. The story begins with a misunderstanding between the two protagonists, and is one of those stories where the characters love each other but mask it by being mean. The female character is referred to as a young girl early in the story and left me with the impression that she was a child for a period of time. Both love interests narrate the story and at times it seems their internal monologue doesn’t match their actions with was frustrating.

Here is the review from Four Weddings and a Kiss, including Spitfire Sweetheart by Mary Connealy. Mary's story was a favorite in this book.
Wonderful book! Four great Authors, and four very unique stories. I love the Prologue leading up these four very unique stories. I say unique because I don't recall reading any book with a similar story line, and that's difficult to say with the thousands of western historical's out there. Each Author told a sweet and loving story with the characters belief in God to help get them through some very difficult circumstances. Mary Connealy writes of tomboy Maizy who puts her neighbor in a very difficult position, and now she's got to find a way to fix things. Robin Lee Hatcher writes about Molly, who's jealousy might get the better of her, when she wants a job that an outsider gets hired for. Debra Clopton wrote my favorite story in the book, Katie has experienced a tragedy and Thad who's just passing through may be the only one who can save her. Margaret Brownley writes of poor Grace who is charged with murdering her husband, and Lone Pine doesn't have much in the way of Lawyers and Judges. She does have one of the sweetest sons around, I have to say.
Each story touched something in my heart, with some great advice along the way. You must read Four Weddings & a Kiss when it comes out in June 2014. You'll be glad you did! Thanks to Mary Connealy, Robin Lee Hatcher, Debra Clopton, and Margaret Brownley for a wonderful book. I loved it!

This is a great choice for anyone who loves Historical Fiction set in the west. I have read numerous books by each of the authors in this book. This book did not disappoint. Each story had a great group of characters with lessons in learning to make their lives better. Can't wait to see if they do another book like this.

Cute.
I enjoyed this novella. I enjoyed the romance, the adventure, the faith. The characters, the setting, the plot.
But the action didn't last as long as I'd expected. The faith was a bit short. The characters seemed weaker than Mary's usually are.
I can't decided whether or not I like Mary's novels or novellas better. I'd say novels because of Sophie's Other Daughter (Hope for the Holidays) and this one. But then I'd say novellas because of Meeting Her Match (A Match Made in Texas) and Winter Wedding Bells (A Bride for All Seasons).
They're all good.

Even the title suggests this book is full of Mary's enjoyable humor. This story was very enjoyable. Sometimes a lady does well to wear dresses and keep a nice, clean house. Other times, she might be required to wear trousers and help save the ranch. Rylan quickly learned that he could love Maizy which ever way she was dressed.

this story was good and had me smiling but i wouldn't classify as phenomenal. i didn't connect with the characters and felt it was too short. it felt like it rushed through the story, but maybe because it comes from a four love story series. liked it it just wasnt one of my favorites from mary Connealy but I loved her series the kincaid brides!

Her name is Elizabeth, yes he loved her, but she was reckless. In Phoenix they expected their minister to be dignified and sedate. While she taught the women how to play rounders, discussing politics. Attendance is up, could this be the reason. A comical look at someone she calls a stuffed shirt. As the men told him, times are changing.

just Ok
The book was ok since I like westerns. It was too short, hardly 2=3 hrs of reading. I want my books to last me days, not just an evening. Overall it was predictable, cute, and non threatening. Do I recommend it? It’s not a bad story, just not exciting, deep, or long enough.

I loved the trueness of the characters and the challenges that brought them to realize why they acted the way they did. Perfect for a western romance.

I really enjoyed this short story. It was so sweet and comedic. The only thing I would have changed was the hero's plea of his love. I think he should of taken more time to really get to know his love before declaring his love to ensure he really new her.

For a short little story this one was definitely cute. I liked the chemistry between the main characters. Definitely not one of my favorite Mary Connealy's.

This was a cute story about a tom-girl forces to dress like a lady as part of an apology. The men in her life just can't see that she wants to be loved for the out-door-loving girl she is.
