Pretty insightful read about an extremely enigmatic subject who was here and gone before most of the casual listeners of the Rolling Stones' music knew who he was.

So glad I read this book. I’ve read more than my share of Stones related books and this one I definitely recommend. Although it was written 13 years after Jones’ death, it’s much closer to the events than we are now. I feel like I have a much fuller understanding of Brian Jones as a person, musician and member of the Stones. It seems fairly clear that he was as responsible for, and accepting of, his departure from the band as anyone. I won’t continue to feel it was necessarily unfair treatment by Mick and Keith. He seemed to have real mental issues and sounds like someone who was hard to be around part of the time.
