Carrie Beckett knew what fear was. Pain, Anger, Terror…she also knew Trust. Of all the things her father taught her and her brother, it was her brother Noah who taught her to trust.

At fourteen and awakened in the middle of the night by her eighteen year old brother Noah, they run and escape a fate that is worse than death. Years of abuse so severe has left them both strong, wounded and careful. They know to trust one another above all things and promise then and there they will never look back.

The summer before her final year at UW Carrie agrees to a date with her long time crush who happens to be her brother Noah’s best friend Chad Blake. The tattooed and sexy as sin front-man for rock band Thick as Thieves and the crowned King of Gig Harbor’s bad boys, Chad is a known for a good time, great music, killer tats and a sweet goodbye the morning after as long as the girl knows the score. Everything he is, is everything Noah wants her safe from.

Chad has wanted his best friends sister since she was eighteen but stayed away after Noah warned him that Carrie was off limits. Having been burned in the past, Chad focused on his day job as a tattoo artist and his dream of making it big with his band Thick as Thieves; keeping his bed warm until he had the chance to get Carrie Beckett there and never let her leave.

Noah sheltered Carrie as best he could, keeping her as far from his personal life and Chad Blake as he could. He wanted nothing but happiness and freedom for the sister he watched suffer day in and day out.

But Carrie is innocent and smart, strong willed with a sassy mouth, all the things Chad loves about her and refuses to deny himself of anymore.

Risking it all on a whim, he shows up and asks Carrie to go “All In” and betray her brother for a chance to be together.

Carrie is brought into the world of parties, concerts, fangirls and sex - that forces her to face the memories of her past in order to move on with Chad as her future.

Knowing that love is a reward, trust, a gift, Carrie and Chad fall with a passion so strong, it threatens to break them both. They will battle back all the bad things in life for just a second of good and all the insecurities will come to an explosive head that may just destroy them both.

WÖW! What a disappointment. A total eye roll.
I'm surprised I even made it this far.

So this story is about.......what was her name?...you know what I really don't care or give a two shit what it was. And I "quote" Big Sean.

Sure what she've been through is a lot and

And I don't wish it on my enemy but....really?

I mean Brat/Bran, whatever the hell his name is , kept telling her how beautiful she is and how much he cares about her. You know stuff like

"You're mine" and "you're sexy"

(Yay fucking rainbows and unicorns *rollingdaeyes*)

And the only Vocab I think she may know is

Why me, why not her, why did he choice me...WHY WHY WHY!

Like, can you seriously grow up. And maybe go back to school.

And can we pleasseeee! talk about the fact that they're saying that they've been in love for everrrrrr when the author barely gave us a glimpse of them together in the past. Whatever though.

What a roller coaster of unexpected things! From the first to the last page Trust Me is brutal and raw and ubelieveably agonizing story. I wish it could have been more pimped out and edited properly, then it really could’ve been big. I really enjoyed reading it and I have to say it was a nice read between bigger, more absorbing books.

Trust Me is about Carrie. Strong young woman who survived childhood from hell. Her story broke my heart and made me think about sexual abuse and how much lucky I am to have family like mine. Years had passed since her nigtmare ended but still in some way she’s scared and waiting for it to repeat. The only one who understand is her brother Noah, who lived and survived the same terror.
Now, being almost twenty one she wants to start breathe and finally do something about her crush on her brother’s best friend Chad.

Chad is lead singer in TAT and tattoo artist. He and his man whore moves are also extremely dangerous for Carrie’s heart. But what she doesn’t know is the fact that he wants her from the time he saw her for the first time.

First off all I have to say that I won’t be bitching about it not being profesionally edited and that it didn’t affect my rating. I totally understand author who kindly warned about lack of editing. I knew what I’ve signed up for.

That being said, I gave Trust Me 4 stars for great, gut wrenching plot, sex that melt panties and wonderful Chad who stole my heart.

And ladies sex was so hooottt!! I literally felt it thorb! Chad charmed my panties off with some dirty talking, tats and bad boy vibe. His possesiveness, great ways with fingers and tongue… well I hope you get my point. This book is SMOKIN.

Overall, Trust me is nice, scorching read as well as painful story of two broken siblings. Give it amazing cover, good editing and feedback and it would rock Goodreads along with Rock Star books such as Thoughtless, Mighty Strom or

For what promised by the blurb to be a really good read I was sooooo disappointed it fell so far from the apple tree in it's deliverance that how the hell this book is receiving 4 and 5 star reviews is utterly, totally and irrevocably beyond me!

So did Melanie think that by doing a little disclaimer at the beginning of the book that there 'may' be some typos left after her and her beta readers had read through it and could we possibly forgive her if we come across some? Well, yes of course I can forgive coming across some but what I cannot forgive is coming across them literally every other page and this is 'supposedly' after it's been looked over by several? Surely (and I have said this before), there are word processing programs out there that pick up the fault in grammar and correct to/too your/you're etc etc, they will also pick up sentences that don't make sense, so why is this book riddled with them? Also really, really poorly delivered text, it was so confusing to follow sometimes, like the author's brain was one step ahead and 6 steps back of what she was writing and it came across mixed up and badly written.

This book considering the tense and sensitive subject matter seems really juvenile and I don't think the characters are portrayed well at all considering she was abused so badly, had never been kissed and then bam she decides this is the summer she is going to have a fling and she picks Chad and then turns into a complete sex fiend but then can't cope with Chad's man-whoring ways before her? Arghhh so much didn't sit right.

Also why the flippin hell was the word gravel/graveling used so many times when the actual word needed in all those instances should have been grovelling? Gravelling is 'cover something with gravel' or Make (someone) angry or annoyed. In the text it was written this just wasn't the right word to be used. Here's a for instance from the book - tell him how much he hurt you and make him gravel and worry while he's off being semi-famous for those eight days. - Definitely missed this numerous times by the author and her proof readers, shakes head, but it's this and many many others. Here's another piece of text - I didn't want it welcome between us every time we had..... - what the heck just doesn't make sense.

And sorry got to point out this one too, - promised I could trust you, knowing how deep that one word is to me. That trust means more in my life than any other, a small four letter word with such an intense definition..... - did you spot the mistake, there was no mention of the word 'love' the four letter word is 'trust' yeah oh my it's FIVE letters!

So in essence, I am sorry this book for me was awful and I am not saying that I am an expert or anything but I am an Avid Reader and get through many, many books and this has got to be in my top three worst books ever to have crossed my path and it's the first book I have ever returned and asked for a refund on for these reasons the subject matter was not dealt with in an adult and sensitive way, the text did not flow and was mixed and contained so many wrong words it was a joke and the characters were up and down all over the place and not engageable at all.

I am sitting here with tears on my face and debating on where to start my review. I bought this book and the author, Melanie Walker, is new to me. I opened the book to read the beginning and my heart stopped. Anyone that advocates the prevention of child abuse and protection of those that need our help the most, speaks to the darkness in my heart. I was raised with and around foster children that had faced these demons. I faced them myself and like to think that I am a better person for walking through the darkness.
Carrie and Noah had grew up in Hell. I have heard the nightmare stories and I know how evil some people can be and that these actions happen everyday. Noah fought the devil on a daily basis to protect Carrie and she was aware of the cost to both their souls. These two escaped and made a life for themselves. I loved that they knew that they had each other and that bond would never be broken. I can imagine the pain that Noah felt every time Carrie stepped into save him and the horror she endured so it wasn't worse.
Fast forward a few years and they are both on the cusp of new beginnings. I love ink. I have a few pieces that mean a lot to me and will continue to get more. They heal my soul and the pain releases the fear that I harbor on a daily basis. The fact that Noah is a tat master and plays in a band is hot. He is damaged and he knows it. Enter his best friend Chad. Lead singer and tattoo God makes this man sex on legs. He is fuckable and makes no bones about it. He has been in it for Carrie since she was 18 years old but Noah was bound and determined to keep her from the lifestyle of a rock band.
Carrie an Chad are combustible and the sparks fly. Love is not far around the corner. However, when the only thing that is pure and true in your life is Trust, how do you gain it back when it is thrown away?
I became a part of this book and fell in love with this group. I can't wait for more and will be adding Melanie Walker to my watch list. There were some minor editing issues with book but other than that I give it 4.5 bookworms.

I stumbled upon this book by chance and am very glad that I did. I have never read anything written by this author before and had never heard anything about this book. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this story. I was drawn in to the story from page one and couldn't put it down until I had finished it.

The characters had depth and kept my attention throughout the book. The author was also able to create characters that had survived horrendous abuse, without going too far to portray them as emotionally scarred to a disabling extent, like seems to be trendy right now. Don't get me wrong, there were some after-effects of the abuse, but they were portrayed as survivors. I found that to be very refreshing, since every other book I read seems to be focused on cutting, etc.

The only thing that could have improved the book would have been better editing. There were a lot of grammatical errors and sentences with words that were mixed up or omitted. It wasn't enough to distract me from the story though. I would definitely recommend this book. It is one of my new favorites.

Let me start by saying I never write reviews. I'm a reader not a writer and nothing I put into words can justify what's in my brain right now. I came upon this book by chance. The book Gods were watching over me as this story popped up in my amazon recommendations. The story was so captivating, I was crying and laughing and trying to hold back my vomit most of the time. This story made me want to hug my babies tight and keep them safe in a bubble ball from the sick bastards in this world. Aside from the painful past of the characters ( I hate even referring to them as such because I feel like they are so real) there is heart wrenching beautiful romance, great friendships, fan-f'ing-tastic music, gorgeous tatted bad boy rock stars, stupid whores causing trouble. Everything we love in a bad ass romance. Did I mention the hotness that is tatted up bad boys?!?! I can't wait to read Shame and Sass' story. I will be sure to have tissues and my saltines and ginger ale available as I'm sure that one will make me nauseous as well. As for the editing of the book, Ms. Melanie made it clear she is not a professional editor and one did not edit the book for her. That being said yes there are mistakes and a couple confusing name change ups, but it did not hinder the greatness of the story and I understood exactly what the author was saying. Great job Melanie you have just earned yourself a book stalker. Can't wait to read more stories from you. As much as I would love to go on and on and on about how much I love you, I must feed my 2 month old who has been neglected so I could devour Trust Me.

4 Hug It Out Stars

Ohhhh. This book. So angsty. So emotional. But not in the "what will I wear" way. Much more intense. N-tense. Let me just say right off the bat...Ms Walker needs an editor. It would have been a 5 Star read if not for the errors. She needs grammar corrections and deep editing like changing people's name in the middle of the book. She owns it. She tells you right up front she has errors on the book. Just get past it. The read it worth it. I am very distracted by bad editing but I powered through it and the book IS worth it. (BTW Ms Walker, owning it does not excuse it. Use a "trusted" beta reader if nothing else)

I have 5 brothers. Siblings have a special relationship because you share your past, your memories, those inside jokes and references. All we have to say is "Like moving the rock pile" and we all know what that means and roll our eyes.

Noah and Carrie have that bond times a gazillion. They have more than shared memories. They have shared life and death experiences. They survived a childhood as bad as any I have read about. Horrid, repeated sexual abuse, beatings, threats, isolation. Those words don't even begin to describe it. But they had each other. They learned to lean on each other and share a trust that is unbreakable. Trust. Not just a word in the title.

The book is about Carrie. But the true Hero (capital H) of the book is Noah. Noah gave Carrie the life she has now. He got her out of the abuse and is the sole reason she is not in a looney bin. Noah is a hunky tattoo artist/rocker. Yum. He is not the perfect boyfriend. But he is the perfect brother. He made sure Carrie could have a "normal" life after he got her out of their childhood nightmare.

Carrie is a senior in college and home for the summer working to save money to buy pretty purses. She hangs out with her brother and his friends. She has lusted after her brother's best friend and business/band partner, Chad for years. She knows Chad is a Man Whore. She watches it happen all the time. She knows he is off limits for many reasons, all of which Noah will tell her about at the drop of hat.

With Chad though, there was no defense, no Teflon, no anti-Chad spray. I wanted him.

Chad is a the lead singer of the band and oh so sexy. He has been in love with Carrie for years but knew she was hands off because of Noah, their past, and her age. Now that Carrie is about to be 21, all bets are off. He must convince not only Carrie but also Noah that he is worthy of Carrie. That he will treat her with care. And he does. He does care so much. He is sweet, gentle, and patient. And he know just what to say and when.

...you own me, entirely. I mean it Carrie. I'm yours and your should feel free to touch me and demand from me anything you want. I am truly and utterly yours to have for as long as you let me in.

Carrie and Chad heal each other. But trust is a fragile thing. Can they sustain the level of trust they need to overcome what they know about each other's history. Carrie feels unworthy of love.

It sucked he was falling for an illusion of me and he needed the true vision. I was so fucked up.

I loved the bond that Carrie and Noah share. I loved that Noah knew what Carrie needed and was able to let Chad give it to her. Chad shows Carrie a side of himself that no one else gets. The friends are so supportive and understanding of their past even if they don't know what happened. They know something happened. But this is not an easy happy story. There are lapses, freak outs, break downs and plenty of be anxious about. Read this book. Ms Walker has a great way with words. I highlighted so many more passages than I usually do. Get past the errors and let me know if you need a hug.

It's a 3.5 STARS for me and this is going to be short and to the point because my "currently reading" shelf is dying with new releases and catch up so I can read said new releases.

I enjoyed this story a lot. I will say that especially early on, there was very little conflict to their relationship. The first 75% of the book can be summed up as follows: Then he does something UBBER stupid. Drunk or not, that was dumb and then he does something even more stupid which I still don't think I can forgive him for, but whatever. This is where the conflict comes in. Then insert token danger and then insert resolution and you're done. We all know a HEA is coming with this genre, so that's not a spoiler.

So my #1 issue is that other than for the last 25%, there's really no conflict to them being together and that drove me nuts.

My #2 issue is the second half of what he does to screw it all up. He did that knowingly and if it were real it could technically be deadly for her and I'm sorry, that's no-go for me.

There was plenty there to work with to have early, compelling conflict. It just wasn't used effectively. It was still a decent read.

The Rockstar and the V

I can't recall how many times I digged out tissues to cry reading this story. It was heartbreaking, however towards the end it had me rolling my eyes..Carrie just got so annoying... Maybe it's just me but towards the end it was just hurried.. after having such a horrible upbringing she just changes into a nymph overnight? A bit unbelievable..

12% On pause. It wasn't baaaaad but the h was kind of immature. She did kind of put a damper on the book. Plus, I think I'm just in the mood for something different. May come back and try again at a later time.

oh my goodness...I'm sooo in love with Chad and Noah(please don't judge me!) this book was so unexpected and I'm so glad I read it, it had me before the first page...I mean I love the fact that Melanie let us know that there were grammar errors and owned them as her own. I mean come on people, use your imagination and if you are the type of person that has to have a perfect book free from any errors than shit maybe you should try writing. ugh...now stepping off my soap box. anyways, the very beginning of the story captured me and wouldn't let me go, I read it in one evening. the lovely bond between Noah and Carrie was beyond words and although I don't wish for siblings to have to suffer through the abuse, I do wish all siblings to love eachother the way these two did. Chad...well what can I say that I love that he's been pining away for Carrie for all these years and it was as if he was waiting to be worthy and deserving of her before he stepped up. I could go on and on abouthow great this book is but I will finish with saying that this book touched me like I'm sure it has/and will many others. it proves that everyone is worthy of love and loving no matter of the tradegies and abuse in their life and that its possible to overcome and live because you deserve it. I love the epilogue and can't wait to read more of their story as well as all the other characters.

absolutely loved this book. I found I was at that stage that a lot of people are at, where I have read so many books within the adult romance genre that they were becoming generic and predictable a lot of the time and honestly finding a good book was becoming a chore. This book was a slight departure from my normal reading range but I took a chance and am so glad I did. I honestly have not been so emotionally invested in a story for a long time.
The characters are believable and had depth to them and the back story, whilst heartbreaking at times, was nothing if not an honest and upfront depiction of a subject that most people would rather not talk about. I feel the author was ballsy for writing about child abuse, imparticular sexual abuse, in such a graphic way whilst showing that your past does not have to control your future and the strength she gave to her lead characters had me hooked and completely invested in their journeys. Honestly best book I've read in a long time would definatly recommend it and can't wait for the second instalment.

This book had me tied in knots through most of it. Parts of it were soooo good.
Then I get towards the end and was just devastated. Man, did this author put me through
the ringer. I mostly loved everything about this book. Chad was broken, but so sweet and
steadfast in his love of Carrie. Noah, I just ADORE him. The unconditional love and strength he had for Carrie was just so beautiful. And Carrie...such a horrible life she had, and yet she was
so strong. I really didn't know what to rate this. It had elements in it that I hate. (some
of the actions of Chad) and yet, the author made everything just so right in the end. So I give
this a 4

Ok so this book started off really rocky for me I almost DNF it but I stayed on. To be fair the author does have a disclaimer in the beginning telling you there will be errors and that she is not an editor. That being said hopefully she will get an editor because I think alot of people will be put off and don't finish it. So at around 40% I was hooked a goner. There is alot of stuff in this book that is painful to read like really touchy subjects but I loved it. The characters left an imprint on me. I laughed and cried! I could not put this down I almost read it in one day. So if anyone wants to read this I think they should give it a shot in the end you won't be disappointed.

I kissed him because he finds beauty in my ugly, happy in my sad and doesn’t make me say why… I kissed him because he is a tattooed, pierced, foul mouthed, horny, drop dead sexy, guitar playing rockstar with a tattoo gun.
I kissed him because he is mine.

Surprise, surprise: I picked up yet another Rock Star romance, featuring a sexy tattooed Hero. Is it really that surprising? If you know me, then the answer is immediately Fuck no! I own up to my obsession to these types of books. Now whether or not I’ll actually like them, well, that’s a whole other story.

I don’t know why I do this to myself, then again, I do. I can’t say no to these books, though I have been becoming pickier. Though some parts of the story were typical, other parts…weren’t.

The beginning of the story will immediately grab you and pull you in. However, be warned: It will disgust you. If you have issues reading stories that contain abuse, particularly both of the physical and sexual nature, then this is NOT the story for you. Though it didn’t overpower the story, it did further enhance the relationships between main characters; for that alone, it made the story a worthwhile read.

Trust me.

Trust Me is the game Noah and Carrie invented since they were little. It was a way for them to talk truths with one another, no matter how awful the truth might be. The two have been fighting their father’s abuse most of their lives.

Carrie isn’t really experienced in having relationships. Two reasons: One – her horrible past & two – her brother Noah. He is severely overprotective of Carrie. By some miracle, he found a their way out from that life. He’s made a life for himself and Carrie. A life that included a career in tattooing as well as playing in a band with his best friend, Chad. He’s also made it pretty clear to Chad that Carrie was off limits.

He is my exception but he is also the rule.

for the most part has adored Chad from afar. He’s the lead singer for Thick As Thieves (TAT), an up and coming rock band. He’s sexy, tattooed, pierced and has his pick of women. Chad’s reputation as a man-whore is no secret. How can Carrie compete with that? She has no real experience with this sort of thing. But what comes as shock to Carrie is that Chad has always had feelings for her. So many things stand in their way: Noah, her past and her insecurities. Can they have a future?

“You’re giving me a piece of yourself here, Carrie. It’s only fair I do the same and all I have that is innocent and untouched is my love and though it’s soon for you it’s not for me. I’ve loved you for so long that I can’t pinpoint a time knowing you that I didn’t love you.”

Though I thoroughly enjoyed most of this story, there were a couple things that bugged me. The biggest problem I found was the editing, or lack thereof. Though the author owned up to her lack of editing mistakes in the beginning of the book, it was still hard to really get into the groove with the intermittent flow of mistakes. Luckily it didn’t annoy me to the point of actually completely giving up the book all together. Another issue I ran into is the heroine herself. I admired her for most of the story, but when it came towards the last 25% of the book, I wanted to shake some sense into her. I get why she was mad, I do, but to automatically jump to conclusions without discussing it with Chad angered me like no tomorrow. To me, the whole thing was too drawn out and then felt rushed to conclude it. Go figure, right?

Anyway, I did enjoy this and I am looking forward to Shamus and Cassa’s book next, though I am surprised it isn’t going to be Noah and Candy’s story. Well either way, I’ll be on the lookout.

4.5 sexy stars!

Oh Melanie, I feel like I know you, like you crawled into my brain like Plankton does to Spongebob.

I COMPLETELY get the way Noah and Carrie talk in songs. I do the same thing and with almost all the same music. Stalker

Gah, this book has the perfect recipe to turn me into a desperate fan girl, no doubt.
Sexy boys with tattoos
Sexy boys who play instruments
Sexy boys who play instruments in a bad ass rock band
Sexy boys who have tattoos, do tattoos, play in a band and are absolutely SWOON-worthy with their words.
Throw in a hefty gallon of broken souls
AND boom goes the dynamite.... fanfuckingtastic!

I love love loveeeeee Noah and Carrie's bond, so heart breaking yet strong and I loved it.
Carrie is a fucking rockstar of her own. Chad may lead the band but SHE leads in life. Shit she had more balls and strength than all of them put together, multiplied by infinity!
Chad, oh Chad.... Such a man, stupid, stupid, adorably romantic man. le sigh I forgive you Chad... for now ;)
Noah, can I please be your book girlfriend?

Great job Melanie! I love your brutal honesty and I am a grammar Nazi, but your story overpowered my insane need to use my imaginary red pen. I caught a few mistake here and there but not a shit was given because I was more worried about what was gonna happen next!
I'm sitting here with my mug full of coffee and toasting my new found fellow coffee addict who happens to have an amazing imagination that I want to take a vacation in.

I'm a creep, I know. No shame haha

Can't wait to see Shame grovel more ;)

This was kind of a tough read for me because of the subject matter. The book deals a lot with rape, incest, & abuse, and I seemed to have trouble enjoying the main characters romance because I kept thinking of the abuse. What the main character Carrie & her brother Noah have to live through growing up is heartbreaking. On a more positive note, I really adored Chad Blake. He is just a sweetheart! Chad is Carrie's brothers best friend & band mate. Carrie has always had a crush on Chad. He is the typical bad boy rocker that all the ladies love. Through the story his love helps Carrie to heal and know what it is to be truly loved.

-I wasn't having the memories that kept me up at night. What I was having however, were some truly wonderful, filthy thoughts; each and every one of them centering on Chad Blake.

-I watched Chad hold his mic and smile through his words. The song was highly sexual and I felt my skin heat when he slid his hand down his chest while singing about the feel of hands on his body. Then his eyes fell on me.

-His body is a mastery of ink and perfection.

-I sat mesmerized listening to him sing, his voice so sexy, he called on every sense I had and held me captive waiting for more.

-"It's you I want, Carrie. You just need to realize that."

-Chad Blake was a romantic. My Chad. Holy fuck!

-He is a gift to the eyes and mine are watering knowing he is mine and only mine.

-He is so fucking beautiful my man. His green eyes are shadowed and lined by the blackest lashes, his strong jaw and kissable lips. I never want to stop touching him.

-"I'm your promise baby and you're my home."

-All in.

Intensely Gripping and Moving Story...
I was captivated by this haunting tale of child abuse. I fell in love with Noah and Carrie Beckett, two young siblings who braved their father's brutality in order to save one another ~ no matter the cost to themselves. The emotional and physical abuse that they endured as children have a profound impact in their adult lives. The dark aftermath has dire consequences in store for: Chad & Carrie, Noah & Candy, and the entire Thick As Thieves (TAT) band.

A Few Complaints...
A great editor and a few extra beta readers would turn this 3 star review into a 5 star review. Most of the time, I have no problem overlooking grammar mistakes. However, there were so many errors littered throughout the story that made it difficult to read and comprehend at times. And in regard to some of the quotes, I wasn't sure who was speaking/talking sometimes. Also, the last 25% of the book seemed rushed, repetitive, and choppy. Proofreading/editing the entire novel would have immensely improved this story and its overall flow.

Overall...
I'd consider myself a potential fan of the author. I believe she has real promise! Her creativity in pairing "Trust Me" with music/lyrics made it very powerful. I will not forget this thought provoking and touching story. I look forward to reading part two, Cass and Shame's story, once it is published.

I received an ARC of 'Trust Me' in return for an honest review.

WOW Melanie has done it again....... Another amazing book!! Are you a fan of Abbie Glines style of writing? If so you'll LOVE Trust Me.

Trust Me comes with laughter & tears, heartbreak & happiness, but don't forget the all out raw, filthy mouth sexiness. Chad REALLY can turn a girl on with words alone, Phew... some of the things he says & does can really make a girl drop her panties!!

Melanie has captured my emotions with the first book in this series!!! She really grabbed hold of some unfortunately very real topics, from child abuse (in many forms) to cheaters only to come to the outcome that yes again ...LOVE does conquer all!! When you mix Chad the very experienced, filthy mouth "Bad Boy Rocker" with Carrie the very abused young woman you get one hell of an emotional explosion !!!

As with Melanie's other series, I am looking forward to the next book in the TAT Series !!

Full review to come but Jesus....this book will sit with me for a while. Emotional, heartbreaking, frustrating, sickening, loving, hopeful, powerful, and sexy as all get out. Before each chapter are song lyrics by different bands (a lot of them among my favorites) that tie into each chapter, and it serves as a reminder how powerful music is in life, and how music and words (books) really punch your emotions to a different level. Definitely a fan of Melanie Walker now...loved these characters, felt their longing, their mistakes, their pain, their heat and their journey. I loved the authors notes at the beginning and appreciated her honesty. I'll impatiently be waiting Sass and Shames story!

On Amazon for .99¢ 8/9/13...

This book was beautiful in so many ways.. The heroines and secondary heros life had been absolutely horrendous. I have heard of some sick shit but this is pretty bad.. To escape something like that with any normalacy in tact would be a down right miracle. They did though. They had their share of bumps alomg the way but they made it. The hero was unshakable. Until she said her piece he was there fighting. He never gave up. Even when she had the same issue over and over which became a tad annoying. That is such a small thing though so not even on radar. I also LOVED the about section at the back of this book. Telling us her promises made damn sure I would read anything Melanie Walker writes. Damn good book!

2.5 - 3 stars

It didnt grab like other books in the same genre have (tattooed rockers etc)....
Something was missing from it. It might be the no connection between the lead female & lead male. They didnt seem to spark. Yeah there was sex & i love yous but they just seemed to be laking in the spark.

I ended up skimming thru most of the book as it wasnt grabbing my attention and seemed to be going over and over the same stuff....
Maybe if it was in duel POV the story may of flowed better...

I will try a reread in a few months - i like to give a book a couple of chances.

I absolutely loved this book! It had me crying, laughing, yelling, and cursing I couldn't put this book down. After reading the prologue I was really questioning if I could actually read this I hadn't even got to the first chapter and tears were falling. I am glad I continued because even with the bad situations these characters experience they survived with a strong bond their trust.

Where to begin? Maybe at the fact that I didn't finish this book! Why?

I didn't read author's personal description, but I would assume she is 18 year old literature student and this is one of her earlier work! Before she discovered EDITING !!!!

How else would you forgive her 30 mistakes per page?!? English is not my first language, hell, not even second one, but I know the difference between too and to, and you're and your!

I read somewhere she had a beta reader!!!! Beta or blind reader? It both starts with B!

And COMMAS!! Commas, for Christ sake!! You know this little things that look like this , and divide sentences, names and words like BABY!!

If I had a penny for every time I read word "baby", I could buy a much better books than this one.
Typical conversation in this book:
He: Baby (1) can you bring me a beer?
She: Of course baby (2)
He: Thank your baby (3)
She: Your welcome baby (4)
He: Love you baby (5)
She: Love you to baby (6)
..... You can see where this is going.....

Few months ago I read something that stayed with me. Main female was offended by the nickname "baby", because she thought it was so unpersonal, for somebody you can't remember their name.
"Baby" is for a "fangirls", not a woman you love.

If I didn't read it as much as I did, maybe I wouldn't mind. This way was annoying as hell!!

This book had a potential, but never diveloped it fully! Maybe if this idea was in some other author's hands, it could be 4,25 stars book! This way, it was a 4, 25 stars disappointment!

For all of you out there who could see a tree in this forest of mistakes, I salute you!
