New vampire Jo Mason had never imagined life with fangs, or drinking blood as her main meal. She has, however, dreamed of her first kiss, her first date and her first high school dance—but for a new vampire, none of those firsts come easy. Humans now tempt her appetite for blood and the Plutariums, a rogue team of vampires, want revenge against her family.
When her human friend Ben Jackson asks her to the May dance, Jo struggles to abide by vampire law. She isn’t sure if she wants to kiss him or taste his blood. She’s even more confused by the mixed messages coming from Vampire SEAL Webb London. The way he looks at her makes her want to jump off the nearest cliff and into his arms at the same time. Her guy problems, however, become the least of her worries when the deadly ones take center stage.
The Plutariums abduct and drug her. She wakes alone with Ben, stranded on an abandoned yacht in the middle of a storm-tossed ocean. Worse, she struggles to keep her bloodlust sated and it will be a battle to see who survives.

Oh. My. Goodness. This was even better than the first book, which was awesome!!! Webb and Jo are so awesome together, and it’s so easy to get swept up in their romance!! Sam, Jo’s twin brother has really grown and found purpose!!! Their father is learning how to be a father and not just a commander. He has become so sweet with his children. There are so many other great side characters, and so so much goes on, it is non-stop action!!! I am so freaking thrilled with this series, and I’m so mad that it took me this long to read it!!! Now on to book three!!!
One of the things I like about this series, is the gradual growth and development of the main character. At her current age, Jo is a bit immature and self-centered. Making decisions that put her and other's in danger. By the end of this book, she's already showing more maturity and the other does a good job of the character's development. Looking forward to see what comes for these characters and I believe, moving into a dual POV story in a book or two.
Another exciting book filled with action and drama and a touch of a romance. I worry A bit about Ben even though the experiment didn't work on him he definitely has changed and seems almost obsessed with Jo.
Read as part of The Vampire SEAL Collection I was very disappointed that the heroine MC became a simpering female child, instead of the stronger character she was in the first book. Makes me think about shelving this series, but there are way too few solid series's I've found in this genre that halfway through i hope it bounces back. I'm moving on without a break - hopefully not to disappointment.
This is the second book in the series. It isn't standalone so you'd need to read th first book before this one. I really enjoyed the story, I was engaged from the first sentence. It's nice to read something a little different and I had no idea what to expect. I look forward to the next book!
