When i read series, i prefer to read from book 1 or not far from the beginning. But the back of the book sounds interesting, so i had a leap of faith despite there is currently a total of 14 - 22 books within this overworld series. Fortunately, i did not get confused by the characters, storyline, etc.

Justin with his supernatural friends (mages, knights, vampire, lycanthropes, demons, angels, etc) are on a mission to rescue his mother from being forced to open a “vortex” which would cause an armageddon on Earth.

Love the action packed drama going on.

This was certainly better than the last book, it looks like Justin still hasn't fully grown up or grasped the dire situation he's in. His concerns are on staying moral and his girlfriend. I liked that the stakes were up in this one and that we got some answers from Justin's mom. But now we're only left with more questions.

Awesome

I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say this series is by far my favorite most books lose flavor after a few and get stale but this one keeps on giving and giving 5 star meal all the way through and keeps you coming back for more pure gluttony

almost too wonderful for words

Every time I think I get a handle on his worlds/characters, he throws in another twist return that goes in a totally unexpected direction. It’s just too wonderful.

Good read

Loving these characters and the situations they get into, make me fear for them, but I root for them all the way. We learned something about the leyworms in this book.

The writing is perfectly serviceable, though without any distinguishing characteristics. It's like those MFA bores all are.

Action packed with great characters

Justin Slade is definitely a favorite! He bumbles through the most dangerous death inducing ploys filled with action and returns victorious.

A lull in activity lets Justin plan for a Christmas party. As he puts the invites in the mail, he's surrounded by dozens of golem kick-starting the outing and ending the scene with Lornicus possibly acting independently, Mr. Gray sharing a bit and Justin and his crew completely intrigued with the meet and a gift that could be a Trojan horse or the path to their destruction or a gift.

But Mr. Gray has plans, nothing's ever as simple and straight-forward as it seems, it is Justin and his crew, nothing's ever simple and Lornicus may even have his own plans. And nothing's ever simple plus it's Justin and his crew. The lure of possible arch control, thwarting Daelissa and just plain curiosity are enticing and soon everyone except Shelton is anxious to try out the gift.

Exploring the arches will definitely lead to more information, possibly a weapon they can wield and maybe give the team the upper hand. Girding for battle, off the team goes to discover new intrigue and puzzles as they try to come up with a plan to stop Daelissa. One has to wonder about baby angels, cherubs, dragons and leyworms in the same room.

Justin's wayward family dynamics, growing power, frienemies and enemies ensure sarcasm, adventure, breathtaking moments, suspense and a fun ride everytime. While each outing is fun on its own the series must be read in order for a clear understanding of what's happening and why.

I have to start the review with a disclaimer since I'm one of a handful of advance readers for John Corwin's books. With that said, the reason I read john Corwin's books both in advance and after publication is that I really enjoy them.

The Overworld Chronicles continues with Justin learning more about his powers and the threat to the world. All Justin really wants is to have a nice Christmas party with friends and family and for the craziness in his life to stop. This episode focuses on Justin's efforts to save his mother who has been in the clutches of the insane Seraphim Daelissa. Justin receives a lot of help from his band of supernatural friends as well as a less than trustworthy Golem. As with the other books in this series action and sarcastic wit abounds. I can't wait for the next book to learn more about Justin's Father's secrets and who really created the arches that bridge the earth and Seraphim realms.

Loved it!!

Such a great continuation of the series wow , I just can't wait for the next one. I really wish that Justin could have spent more time learning how to use his powers better. The thing I loved most about the last book was how he was finally getting to learn how to fight with more of his abilities. But over all I loved this book,I would highly recommend it. :D

sometimes a series gets weak or falls of the rails by the time it reaches book #6 I am happy to say I am hooked and sad to see there are only four more books to go, this series gets better with each one, reminds me of Jim Butchers writing.

Great!

Mr. Corbin continues to speed us on our way to finding out the mysteries he's set into play and while dangling the big carrot plot, he still manages to form a sub plot that each book solves as it dangles the big plot before us-the reader. Well done!

Dearest Mother of Mine

Bravo, another great story from the Overworld Chronicles. Just when I think I know where this saga is going, another few changes come in making my previous assumptions incorrect. I love not knowing what will happen next.
