The Fly House

Rate this book
The Earth’s atmosphere is swiss cheese. To avoid the oncoming oxygen crisis, black-sheep heiress, Maeve Aypotu, has been chemically suspended in one of the Archive’s plush, multi-million dollar chambers, located underground. Scientists claim they can patch everything up in about 15 years, so, just to be safe, the Archive programmed the chambers to open in 17 years.

And then, everything on Earth went wrong.

Up on the surface, Pluto has taken control of the planet, scorching away all signs of human civilization and reconstructing the environment to suit the Plutian’s lucrative dragon trade. Humans that survived are forced to be laborers, divided into five Houses, each handling a different stage of the dragon harvest. Survival and repopulation have become a currency among the Houses. To make matters worse, Rha Diem, the rugged leader of the Fly House, has gotten word that the cost of existence just rose to a price that no human should have to pay. And now there is a whole Archive of survivors that will be expected to pay too.

Learning to trust one another may need to start small—with the fusion of one powerful Rha and one bad ass black sheep—before a damaged race can even hope to regain control of their alien Earth.

I had no idea what to expect with this book.
The title first makes me think of flies...
The cover then eludes to dragons...SQUEEEE...that excited me....
So, the only thing left was to dive in and find out what The Fly House was all about.

I first need to say that this book was brilliantly written. The incorporation of multiple genres such as dystopian, sci-fi/fantasy came together perfectly.
Misty Provencher did an amazing job tying all these elements together to create a FANTABULOUS story that left me wanting more.

The Fly House is a unique tale that encompasses intriguing characters struggling with an earth that has been destroyed and rebuilt for their slavery. Dragons are their livelihood and everything they do has to be by the laws of the Plutians (yep..aliens from Pluto)

I really don't want to tell much...You really need to discover what this book is all about.
I was dying laughing at times, I was freaking angry, and I was on the edge of my seat at the crazy events that happen to bring me to the end of this super book.
I highly recommend that you give this book a read...

Holy Sheet!! This story was crazy awesome! And I do mean crazy, with a capital CRA-CRA!! It Is a story beyond my imagination which is what makes it so addictive. Maeve I totally get – she is feisty and rebellious. She comes from money but refuses to let it own her despite her family’s insistence. She is determined to live life her way and those who disapprove can suck it! I absolutely love her! Then there’s Diem. Strong, handsome, good-hearted, leader and protector – Diem. And the fact that he works with dragons makes him all the more delectable! But as amazing as these 2 characters are, things on earth are such a hot mess they may never be able to overcome it. There are plenty of characters NOT to like, too. Some that are so repulsive they will make your skin crawl and you might throw up a little in your mouth when you read about them. Just saying… But don’t let that deter you any, this is an absolute MUST READ!!! Oh, and one of my favorite things? The names of the aliens. I'm not giving anything away but you will laugh your butt off when you find out what they are!

One of the things that I enjoy about reading Misty's books is you just never know what you are going to get. Misty doesn't follow a formula for writing, she just pours her heart and soul onto the pages and puts it out there for the rest of the universe to enjoy...and enjoy I always do. Fly House is not like anything Misty has written in the past, not even remotely. Let's see what is inside these pages, dragons, the end of the world as we know it (yes I have R.E.M. going through my head right now so I had to share), hawt guy, and bad-ass girl. Sounds like the reasonable beginnings to a story, right?

I read an ARC copy

What I like about the book: I cannot even figure out where to begin here. I love the story line, it combines my two favorite genres, Sci-Fi and Fantasy. There are some aspects that remind me of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, which is one of my favorites. There is action, drama, mystery and of course romance. I'm in love with Diem and in awe of Maeve. As you get to know the characters, you begin to have empathy for some and others make your skin crawl, and sometimes mid-crawl, you start to see another side of them. I know that may not be too clear right now, but once you read the book, you'll know exactly what I am talking about.

What I didn't like about the book: I wouldn't say that I didn't like this about the book as much as I would say this might deter some people from continuing to read the book so I just want to point it out now. The tone of chapter 1 is completely different from the rest of the book, and there is a lot of information in it. You read it thinking "shouldn't this be the prologue?" Well, maybe, but it is too long to be a Prologue and truthfully, there really wouldn't have been a good way to split it up, if you ask me. You may be tempted to skip over it, but don't. There is some vital information given here that will be key to understanding events later on. Once you get through chapter 1, you may still get a little confused by some of it at first, but it falls together so just keep reading. I personally love the details but I get where others might not.

Would I recommend the book: Absolutely! I have not decided if it beats out Mercy as my favorite Misty Provencher book, but it just might have.

Aliens, dragons, and ratfish, oh my! Misty has done it again! She has sun her magical world of awesomeness and left me wanting more.

We start off with this trippy new world. In the beginning there is quite a lot to swallow. We have a new world, creatures, and names to comprehend. It is a must to absorb this new info if you are going to enjoy the whole book. Speaking of names...Misty is a genius when it came to naming the aliens. I won't speak of them now because I want you to enjoy the new names when you come across them... And say them in your head over and over. You will be LOL-ing for real!

Not only does The Fly House have a mind blowing storyline, it has a unique cast. We have Maeve who is one of the main characters. She is hard headed, but funny as he!!. Then we have Diem. He is a sexy and strong leader, but thankfully, not a Neanderthal like other characters we come across. Then we have the rest of the cast...lets just say they range from puke-worthy to smile- inducing.

Books like this just amaze me. The Fly House is a great example to how a human's brain works. If you allow it, your imagination can thrive and create worlds that were before, unimaginable. Stories that leave you in awe. I am grateful to authors, like Misty, who let us into their minds and enjoy their worlds floating around in their heads. Without them, our actual world would be a much grey-er place.

I almost forgot. To all of Misty's fans... she has a major surprise in store for you in The Fly House. I think its kind of a gift to us. You will know what I'm talking about when you get there. One more thing... this book is full knocking boots... figuratively and literally. Just saying! : )

I so wanted to like this book, but ultimately wanted to quit this book at 50%, and finally gave up at 72%.

The premise is good, and the writing has promise. But, when all the scenes and all the character development leads to sex that reads like a bad 80's porn flick, page after page and chapter after chapter, then poke me with a fork cuz I'm done.

The cover art is awesome!

Let me just start by saying that the dragons were amazing in this book, I absolutely fell in love with Trust, one of the dragons! This book has so many elements to it, and that keeps you very interested. You get Aliens, Dragons, War, Destruction, Struggle for Power, and so much more!!!

This book starts out in the future with an older women explaining some of the human races history, and how things have changed in the year 2079. This is where you meet Gra as they call her she is Diem's grandmother and she has survived all the changes and wars that have happened from the Plutians who are the aliens who have scorched the Earth and started a dragon trade business and killed off most of the human population. Diem is the Rha from The Fly House, he has the responsibility of leading and protecting his people.

You then get to go to 2013 and meet Maeve a headstrong girl who has just wanted love. Maeve is from a wealthy, famous family and is always in the tabloids. All she has ever wanted was her parents love and acceptance but rebels to see if they will love her anyway. No one has ever proven to be a loyal friend to Maeve and she doesn't trust people.

Maeve's parents call her and tell her about the Earth and that there is a threat coming. They let her know she has an opportunity they are willing to pay for to have her put in a sleep state, in a building until after the destruction. Maeve weighs her options and decides to go and be put in this sleep state, and she is told that she will only be asleep for 17 years until 2030 and then staff will awaken them from the Archive.

Diem is a man now in the year 2095 that will not settle for just any mate. It is important for him to take an intended and to have children since he is the Rha and women are few and having generation means the human race will continue on. Wind wants to be Diem's intended and to Link with him, but Diem is not interested in her. Diem wants a women that is just his, is respectful of his position, but challenges him and it is not Wind. Diem is the best dragon trainer, and his dragon Forge is fierce!

Maeve wakes up to a creepy man named Steven who keeps checking her out. She is not interested in him, and she doesn't trust people especially men. Maeve wants to know why no one was waiting when she woke-up and why everyone else is not waking. Soon they figure things went horribly wrong! It has been over 80 years since they were in the sleep state, and it is 2095. They are worried what they will eat and how they are going to survive. Soon others start to awake. Maeve's curiosity drives her to explore the Archive and soon she finds a way out!

Diem and Forge find Maeve and are immediately suspicious as to where she has come from and who she could be spying for. Maeve is scared and also doesn't want to back down to anyone so she fights Diem on everything. The push and pull in this relationship was amazing, she gets so frustrated and so does he. She doesn't want to give in and he doesn't understand her but he wants to.

I loved the dragon riding scenes they were just amazing to imagine, Misty did a fabulous job describing them! The way that the worlds collide and learn from each other after much struggle was great! I loved that none of the many topics seemed to overwhelm each other instead they just added and fitted the puzzle together nicely! This is a great fantasy book, that I loved! I will miss Maeve and her toughness, Diem and his gentle willingness to take care of others needs!!!

I don’t even know where to begin. How do I explain and review this story and pay it the justice it deserves? Why did I see the title of this book and cringe a little? Let me explain a bit. The “Fly House” has nothing to do with flys, as in those pesky things that haunt your picnic. For some peculiar reason, I kept getting awful images of that when I saw the title of this book. That or a roach motel. You all know I’m weird so it’s expected.

But this Fly House is a “house” that trains dragons. There are several houses that take on a task in the process of breeding dragons for the Plutians. But I’m getting waaaaay ahead of myself.

This story uses multiple POVs. After a little bit of a “storytime” moment set in the future, our story sends us back in time to the present day. We’re now following Maeve Aypotu, the heiress to a pharmaceutical/medical supply fortune who just wants her rich and aloof parents to leave her alone. But they’ve reluctantly paid for Maeve to be chemically suspended in time while the Earth is “repaired” so she can be revived when all the nastiness is over and life back on Earth is back to normal. Maeve relents and joins her folks in the Archive, figuring it would be better “sleeping” through Earth’s mess than suffering through it in her crappy apartment.

I can’t even begin to explain the rich, complex fantasy, dystopian, romance that occurs after Maeve wakes up! The story is set on Earth so there isn’t really a big sci-fi aspect to the story. Only that there are aliens on the planet. That’s about it.

One thing is for sure, this book is NOT for the kiddies. From characters with the most unusual names (for a very good reason) to some the most, errrr… carnal and impassioned love scenes I have read, this IS a grown up read.

The book is written from multiple POVs so if you sometimes have trouble with switching of POVs, you may get a bit confused. I personally LOVE multiple POVs. I get confused when there is a separate narrator to the story. But that’s my own little quirk. With the multiple POVs, I felt like I got a better understanding of each character’s personality and motivations. Especially the Plutians. Creeps…

This is a stand alone and it is perfect that way. There is a ton of action, too. Oooo, I can’t believe I almost forgot about the action! Flying dragon fights!

I’d be writing the longest review in history if I touched on all the coolest parts of this book. So I’m glossing over and saying the writing is fantastic. The characters are completely unique and often times hysterically funny as only Ms. Provencher can write. She rocks the snark and satirical humor like nobody’s business.

My only beef with the book was that I wished there was more time spent with the dragons. But then, I think chocolate goes good on anything and everything. Too much of a good thing is probably bad…

Oh, just go get the book…

I snagged this book during a Facebook party where the author was doing some insane promotion. Sad to say, I have a huge TBR list because of my one-click finger obsession. But, I was making a review list, tossed this title into the hat, and was thrilled when it ended up clutched between my fingers. I dove in with gusto and consumed the book in a little over 24 hours. Let's move on to why.

From a Reader's Perspective:
I'm always honest in my reviews, and I have to say, the first chapter of this novel had me wondering how I was going to comprehend what I was about to read. It was difficult to understand without the new language on Earth, and there were few definitions of terms. Needless to say, I was worried the whole book would be written in the same style.

Not so.

After that first chapter, the story really took hold and the language/writing became smoother. Pacing was off the charts perfect, because I had a hard time putting the book down. There aren't long passages of world description, it comes out organically, so I didn't find myself skimming. Score one for the author. But, I got enough to really picture the future Earth I was reading about, with many things being left to my own imagination (which I love).

Character development also is done over the course of the novel, and I was delighted to find I'd want to be BFFs with the main character, Maeve. She's tough, damaged, and demands a man win the right to be with her (much like the dragons). It's probably why Diem, the love interest, was so drawn to her in the first place. He trains dragons. Enough said. One of my favorite characters was the Plutian overseer of the Fly House. His references to human body parts left me with tears leaking from my eyes. I will forever after use the term: pain berries.

Once you read it, you'll understand.

I was able to go back and read chapter one again (and understand it) after I finished the book. So, there's that!

From an Editor's Perspective:
Commas! Eep! I found a bunch of places where commas should've been and weren't, or shouldn't have been and were. It caused me to stumble more than once. Word confusions: metal vs. meddle, seating vs. sitting, woman vs. women, etc... And one big confusion in the story where Diem has been off flying for a while, then returns and wonders why his dragon didn't detect Maeve earlier.

Rating:
1 Star for characters I loved and were complex
1 Star for world building without infodumping
1 Star for pacing and plot
1 Star for making me laugh out loud more than once
-1 Star for editing
Overall: 4 out of 5 stars! Recommended for those over 18 years of age, who love a good sci-fi novel.

Author Misty Provencher impressed the heck out of me with her Keystone series. When I saw the cover of The Fly House, her newest stand alone novel, I was SUPER intrigued. I could not wait for it to come out. It was SO worth the wait.

The Fly House starts out in the future of planet Earth. A very different planet Earth than what you and I are used to. We meet people that are unlike us and speak a little differently than we do. We realize that a lot has changed on Earth and so your mind starts going a million miles an hour wondering what the HECK has happened! By chapter two, it all starts coming together very quickly. It is AMAZING how it all starts coming together.

In The Fly House, planet Earth has massive holes in it's atmosphere. It is not looking good for the citizens of the planet. A major company has figured a way to allow some very wealthy, lucky select few to be preserved for the next 17 years to allow them time to wait out the catastrophic atmosphere and come back to a better, healthier Earth.

Well as you have already probably guess, that is not how it all went down. Things went a little, uhm..South so to speak? We have some future humans that live in a Planet that is supposed to be theirs but is ruled by Plutians. They are prisoners on their own planet. They are simply being used to help the Plutians support their dragon trafficking. The five houses are responsible for each phase of the dragons care and training and are horribly divided. Once Rha Diem finds out the newest trade the Plutians are requesting from them, they know they must learn to work together and figure out a way to earn their planet back before all is lost. Will something that happened almost 100 years ago actually be able to still help the future planet earth and the people that are under the Plutian rule? GET YOUR COPY NOW and find out! I highly suggest this book. I am so in love with this book. I had such a great time reading it. The story line is fun, the characters are so easy to love, hate, laugh with and at. You will truly enjoy watching this whole story unravel bit by bit!

The Fly House wasn't a bad book, but it wasn't a book for me. I bought it without question, having enjoyed Provencher's YA series "Cornerstone" (which I still haven't finished). This is not YA, and that's okay, but it's not a book I was enjoying.

The Fly House is about a post-apocalyptic Earth or something, where humans have been forced to become the caretakers for dragons. Apparently Pluto has life, because the Plutians are the overlords or something.

All of that was very interesting, and the plot was not what made me stop reading. The deciding factor for me was the tone and the style. This book was just too graphic, too vulgar for me. There's the scene where a girl from the present day has been cryogenically frozen and wakes up in the warehouse with a dude who has become obsessed with looking at her face. He's super creepy, watching her in her little cryo-chamber and imagining her waking up. Then when she does wake up, he touches her and calls her sweetheart and gets sexually aroused at the thought that she might be a virgin. That was ... unsettling. Then we flash to the future/dragon caretaker timeline, where the human race is on the verge of extinction and traditional concerns like love, marriage, and CONSENT have taken a backseat to basic procreation. It doesn't matter who or where or how as long as someone gets pregnant. Seriously. So Diem was raised "traditionally" which means he isn't a rapist, basically, and he doesn't want the manipulative, floozy woman who keeps trying to get him to get her pregnant (because it's a status symbol and he's a powerful clan leader, etc). Also, one of the aliens-taking-the-form-of-a-human is lusting after Diem's little sister and literally sends a surge of sexual energy at her in a field, hoping she'll forget he's an alien in the midst of all the lust he's thrown at her. And that alien's name is Phuck. I kid you not.

So yeah, that's where I stopped. The Fly House seemed interesting, and had it been done in a less vulgar style I might have enjoyed it, but this one just wasn't for me.

I enjoyed this book. The world, the story, overall I liked.

We start with Maeve, in the past (2013), who is being preserved. Our world has environmental problems that are expected to be resolved in 17 years, when our 'Archived' humans will awaken.

Then we're introduced to the earth in it's current state. Ruined and owned by Pluto, earth has been retrofitted to suit Pluto's dragon trade business. 5 human leaders called Rha's, run 5 houses (containing a few hundred humans each) on earth, which each handle a stage of dragon care. The main character is Rha Diem.

We spend the first third of the book alternating between these 2 POV's, meeting different characters in each. Multiple POV books are just never gonna be my favorite. I found myself rushing through Diem's chapters, to get back to Maeve's. When the POV's finally did converge the story took off.
Maeve, our flawed yet still awesome heroine, started to shine with these new challenges and different settings. Rha Diem became much more interesting and other characters started to come into the light.

The sex scenes/talk was a little heavy handed for my taste and it felt like there was one too many scenes altogether. I would have much preferred a bit more back story or some side character development. The dragons are a highlight. They were so well described and conceived. I fell in love with all of them a bit. And who doesn't love dragons? Honestly.

Overall, I liked the book. I would have enjoyed a different format. The book starting with Maeve discovering 'new earth' and the back story being told through flashbacks/conversation. The front third was a bit too slow, while the back two third felt a tad rushed. I wanted a bit more development with the 'Archived' humans. And I really enjoyed the mix up when they met with earths current residents, though short lived.

Good story, definitely a fun read. Despite my few personal gripes, Misty delivers and remains on my favorite author list!

I love Misty's work. She is, hands down, one of the most creative and talented writers out today.

The Fly House is the most unique sci-fi/fantasy sexy romance you will ever read.

I will let the other reviews recap the story; you get the idea.

The sex level in this book is as scorching as a dragon's breath. I've read all levels of romances, from the sweet to the erotic, and this is extremely sexual in parts. In some ways, I found the sex to be distracting. The scenes were hot, but I was seriously engrossed in the plot, and I really wanted to find out what was going to happen next.

When I think about it, 80% of the sex scenes mostly served to propel the plot, and certainly the romance. At the risk of getting lambasted for it, I would have been completely satisfied with a bit less coitus and more sexual tension.

I was a little bit unsure of the sexual relationship between Maeve and Diem. I guess Maeve's uncertainty or rebellious nature or ambivalence about it made me wonder if she was enjoying it or not. In this regard, the sex scenes seemed to be the tool for showing Maeve's trust issues to the reader.

The fantasy element was clever, ingenious, smart, adventurous and exciting.

The sci-fi element was intelligent, plausible, unique and engrossing.

All of the pieces that make up a good, difficult to put-down read, are present and expertly assembled. Dialogue. Character interaction. Suspense. Setting descriptions. Emotions. Character development. Character motivations. Seamless merging of events and plot resolutions.

All in all, it is a vastly entertaining read. I wish I could recommend it to a wider audience, but it really needs to be read by 18+...or even better, married people looking for some great spice to amp up their love life. It's unapologetically graphic!

Earth 2013, not a lot going on, according to badass Maeve Aypotu. There's a problem with the earths atmosphere so it's off to the Archive with her estranged parents to be held in stasis until an improvement is found, "great". Well that's the plan, unfortunately things go wrong and Maeve finds herself waking up in the year 2095.

On an earth where aliens from Pluto rule and the skies are filled with dragons and no cursing is allowed, what the f@@@!! Hmm guess she better remember that one. With a little help from the swoon worthy local, Diem, a dragon trainer. But will he be able to train Maeve?

One of my favourite lines has to be,

"Keep your fuzzy nuggets of my sheets, Steven!"

I have to say i nearly choked when I read that one!!

I love the names the locals give to the Plutians, they are hilarious and so clever.

You'll just fall in love with this story as I did and it's one of those that will stay with you a long time.

Be prepared for the ride of your life. You'll not want it to end, but it will, that's life, but you can always check out one of Misty's other series, The Cornerstone Series, which is also fantastic.

Another DNF for me... at only 14%.

I won this book in a blog giveaway, and the blogger made this book sound a lot better than it actually was. All that was said was that it was about dragons, and I foolishly didn't look into the book much more than that, probably should have.

At 65 pages in, there still was no real clear story arch. The way it jumped from the "past" to the new dystopian present, well.. it wasn't done well. There also was a heavy creep factor to the new future. Where women practically throw their naked bodies at men so they can get pregnant, or where the few women are constantly in fear of being raped, then there's the older guy that watches a much younger girl sleep in her Cryo-chamber, only to get a really really creepy at the prospect of getting into her pants when she wakes up.

The dialog was bad, the characters were uninteresting. To me it seemed like the author couldn't make up her mind in what kind of story she wanted to tell, Science fiction, Dysotpian, Fantasy. It has all three, but not in a very consistent way that could make an interesting story.

I'm posting this review in March 2016 and I can honestly say this is one of the most memorable books I've read. I remember it being one of the worst books I have ever encountered.

I really wanted to like this book. Dystopian future+aliens+dragons! That is right down my reading alley. I could not stand it though (though clearly I am in the minority). The dragon scenes were fun, enjoyable, and action packed, but that only seemed to cover about 10% of the book. The rest of it seemed kind of...rape-y? So much of the book was Maeve being painted as a badass and then being overpowered by the other main character, Diem. An excerpt: "You need to learn obedience, Maeve Aypotu...I am the Rha of the House you are at now, so I will be the one to teach you." This is followed by a whole lot of scenes of her getting all angry and cursing a lot and him exerting his power over her. A huge chunk of the book is Diem making and taking sexual advances/actions while Maeve is saying no or cursing the whole time. I get that the idea is (maybe?) that she really secretly/subconsciously wants it, but for me it was a total book turn off. I would not recommend the book.

Found this book, had no clue what to expect. I'm into science fiction,so after reading the synopsis I figured this would be a story I could easily get into. Without a doubt, this is one of the most unique books I've ever had the pleasure to read - and I say this because right when you think you've figured out the weirdness that is The Fly House, you get knocked on your ass again and spiral into another wormhole. Figuratively speaking, of course.
Characters were well developed and flawed, bitter and scared, brooding and fragile. The journey of Maeve was full of its ups and downs, but ultimately I think she found her inner peace.
I will admit that some of this book was over my head. I just couldn't wrap my mind around some of the details. Normally this would make me a little frustrated with a book, but in The Fly House there was so much else going on, I couldn't make myself put it down. Dragons and aliens? Yes, please.
Recommend this for readers 17+, due to some intense sexual situations.

I bought this book because of this Review on Goodreads and loved it from the first line.

"They fed the old traveler at their fire, as was right to do, since he had their past to tell."

Then I put my Kindle down as I was filled with questions. Whose past? And if it is to be told by someone old then things must have changed an awful lot. It also told me the people who fed him were good people and I wanted to know them.

This book has everything; good people, really bad people, science and dragons. As I watched the plot elements draw together, I was surprised over and over with the twists and turns.

Such an amazing book. Loved it!

Excellent read! Well written and utterly non-pretentious.

(I say the latter because in recent years many dragon-riding/dragon rider/dragon-keepers + scify books etc etc are SO pretentious, or just Eragon-wise plagiarizing Anne McCaffrey)

The Fly House is very enjoyable and detailed without flooding the reader. The characters are fleshed out and advance the plot without being just add-ins because or "reasons". Both female and male characters are empowered in a way that feels good. As for the villains and main enemy they also were successfully portrayed and had me hating, loathing and or pitying them as their role should be.

This book has me trying out more of Misty Provencher's work.

I LOVED this book!!! Actually, I have loved ALL of Misty's books and this one totally rocked!!! Romance, action and adventure, with a little bit of science fiction thrown in. And not corny, hokey sci fi either. Misty makes it totally believable and fun. And who doesn't love dragons, especially Trust, who next to Maeve and Diem, was my favorite character! I especially loved the main character of Maeve, the strongest, most kick-ass female lead EVER! I am not very good at writing reviews but seriously, read this book!!

I read this book the day that it came out. It was really a really good story and filled with humor. I really like the story line. This is not a book for young teenagers as it is VERY racey. But, overall, a great read!

This book is part sci-fi, part romance, part mystical, and just a whole lot of fun imagination rolled into a highly adventurous book. It has a modern day element before the Earth changes then you will feel like you were thrown into a wormhole the entire book, because it is that real!

Extreme sci-fi fantasy with dragons. Not what I usually read, but I liked it. The characters were well developed and everything had it's purpose. I was a little disappointed that there was only the one book. It seems like it could easily be a series.

1.5. This was very weird, and extremely rape-y. I only finished it due to the weirdness, felt I wanted to see how it ended.
