John finds himself back where it all began at Wolf Haven from the first book where vengeance comes. You don't need to have read that book to enjoy this book though. John is facing an old enemy the Loup Garou. All is not as it seems though! This book is action packed and will leave the reader on a heart stopping journey! Follow John as he deals with danger and against an old enemy who will stop at nothing to get what he wants! Putting John's reputation on the line and those closest to him in harms way! The story flowed nicely and I could not stop reading it. This is another cracking read to add to the series and Decker fan's will love it!! highly recommend. I was given an advanced reader copy for free to leave this my voluntary honest review!
Oh yes. John has gone to face his destiny. A return to Night Haven where it all began. A Loup Garou is killing again in Night Haven. This is not a revamp of the original story. This is gonna keep you guessing to the very end with twists and turns in this pacy, multi layered tale which brings back an old adversary which will fling you breathlessly to the end. The author just gets stronger and stronger with each book in the series. I received an advance copy of this book and review it honestly. Totally recomended, 100%
I love this series! For anyone who follows this series, you won't be surprised to hear that Decker once again saves the day when he returns to his hometown after his former deputy calls with news that the loup-garou is somehow back terrorizing the good folks of Wolf Haven & he needs Decker to help him out. As usual, he worries about Nancy & the impact this job is having on her & on their marriage, so in the end, he once again expresses to Hunt that this might just have to be his last adventure with CUSP. Every time he tries to leave, Mina, Daisy or Hunt find a way to draw him back in. He is especially concerned after his visit to the house in Boston where he saw himself being attacked by the loup-garou. What is different this time is that Nancy refuses to cower in fear or run away despite all the horrors she has & will soon face. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if in the next book, they decide the best way to make their new marriage work is for Nancy to officially join CUSP too. A husband and wife team of monster hunters? I like it. Maybe together they can hunt down Grendel & his mom who end up being the only residents of The Zoo that actually escaped the island & are still unaccounted for after Nathan released every single one of them. We'll see!
Wolf Haven is a return to John Deckers first (major) adventure location. The first, full length John Decker novel, ‘What Vengeance Comes’ was a werewolf (or loupe-garou) adventure and although I thoroughly enjoyed the book I left quite a critical review. I felt the writing was equivalent to a good serialisation of a comic book; colourful, full of action but with two dimensional characters with little in-depth characterisation. Anthony M Strongs latest book, Wolf Haven, shows a complete turnaround. Although Mr Strong has maintained his breathless pace and colourful action the characters are now fully formed, there are sub-stories, emotion, history, mystery and, of course exquisitely dangerous monsters. I highly recommend this latest book but also recommend new readers to start with the original ‘What Vengeance Comes’ and grow into the series. And to make that option even more appealing be aware that Mr Strong has re-released ‘What Vengeance Comes’, edited, polished up, and enhanced with extra text and characters. Happy Reading.
The biggest problem I had with this book had nothing to do with the book itself but with the fact that I haven't read some of this author's earlier work. That said, I will tell you that there are a lot of references to events and characters from those earlier books. That really didn't diminish my enjoyment of this one but I put this out there so as to not spoil things too much. John Decker finds himself returning to CUSP as a consultant to investigate what is believed to be the return of the Loup-garou, a werewolf like creature he has dealt with before. This time though, there are other dangers in the mix. There is plenty of action and suspense in this book. While I couldn't quite give it five stars (it should be four an a half), I still recommend it.
The lower than normal score for Anthony Strong was the feeling that this book tidied up some raw edges, having said that, was it fun? Yes. Decker is back, gone is slight demurring in his actions, he is now far more focussed and on the ball. Nancy and Celine reappear with vim and vinegar and the story ends with the possibility of severe nastiness returning in a human form, after all, why waste a convincing and deranged baddie . The introduction of virtually, corporate crime, is annoying in some ways but worked here. I do prefer my cryptids, monsters and such like to roam free and unfettered, however I enjoyed this and as ever could not put it down until it was done. So hopefully , no spoilers, just a vague hint and I have gone nowhere near the best bits.
I always get excited when a new John Decker book drops. This is one of my favorite series. Anthony Strong writes thrilling supernatural tales. John Decker is such a strong character, not without his flaws, but inherently the quintessential hero. As a member of a clandestine military type group, John is often put in danger keeping the rest of the world safe. I found this entry into the series to be exactly what I have come to expect from this author, a well written thrilling tale that is hard not to race through. Ohhh, now comes the wait for the next. *sigh* I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my opinion of the tale.
I love this series by Anthony M Strong. The characters are well written, even the bad guys. Once again John Decker is called away from his honeymoon. He gets a call from his old deputy who's now sheriff of Wolf Haven, his hometown. There's animosity between them from his earlier betrayal of John, but people are being ripped apart and killed so he goes. Seems the shadow of Annie Doucet still hangs over the town and him. After an amazing number of twists and turns can he figure things out before he loses his life? Before it's over his boss and CUSP itself will be drawn into this web of evil.
John Decker gets called back to Wolf Haven to confront a possible return of the loup garou. Accompanied by Daisy, Mina's daughter, they look for evidence of the supernatural culprit, or is there another reason for the killings. Another thrilling installment in the John Decker series filled with gruesome murders, cunning criminals, and bizarre creatures. Great series, I'm looking forward to John Decker's next adventure!
Well, this one was an interesting twist for the series. John and Daisy head back to Wolf Haven because there have been more attacks like there had been back when Decker was sheriff. The new sheriff needs help and John is there to guide him, or at least that's what he thinks is why he is there. What an interesting twist he finds himself in. I don't want to give things away, so I won't say much about what else happens. Just read the book! Highly recommend
This is such a great series of books. I really enjoy them. It would make great movies also or TV series. Mr Strong has a very vivid imagination and creativity. I sincerely enjoy his work to the upmost.

The first Hal of the book was better and while reading it I kept trying to figure out the killer, which I didn't. I did think the kid did do it but of course was proven wrong. The second half I believe could or should have been diff.didnt help the book at all. Of course it was suppose to prove who the killer was but your other endings were better
Another worthy addition to the John Decker series of novels, storyline which keeps you on the edge of your seat, wondering what to expect next, moving from one action to the next at a breath taking rate. Needless to say I enjoyed it immensely and can see no reason you should not, buy and enjoy
Decker reluctantly goes back to work for CUSP to try and stop things he saw in Boston. First he must return to Wolf Haven the Loup Goru is at work again. But there is something far more dangerous in Wolf Haven. Can Decker and his friends stop it. Full of action, amazing characters and surprises.
As with all Mr. Strong’s writings in the John Decker Series, I loved it. He doesn’t fail to keep me interested and unable to put it down until finished. John Decker has helped me through some dark days and I hope Mr. Strong will keep on publishing more of the Decker Series. Just love it.
John Decker is summoned back to Wolf Haven, Louisiana where the Loup-garou is back with a vengeance (or is it). Been looking forward to this one and wasn't disappointed. 5 Stars.
I just finished Book 15 of this series. It is best to read in order though not really necessary. I enjoyed reading from book 1 it ties all in at 15. If you like horror supernatural you will love this series. Anthony Strong has a vivid imagination, twists and turns. Has you rethinking the unknown, where he goes with his storyline takes you on an adventure! Loved the whole series. Now onto CUSP book 2 yep already read book 1
I loved all 14 previous books! Exciting, we’ll thought out, action packed, this one however was more a computation of the previous books. Not satisfying however. Still well written and still pure John Decker. Spoiler: no closure.
John Decker is one series you should never miss. This latest book in the series is no exception, answering most if not all of the questions regarding Decker. How good is it you ask? Let's just say everything skids to a halt when a John Decker book arrives.

Does this mean there will be no more John Decker stories!? I really love them and miss the characters. There is still so much adventure they could find. Wide open storyline possibilities. Either way, this is one of my all time favorite series.
Always fun to read. Decker, Mina, Daisy, Adam, Nancy and Celine are the best. This book was very entertaining and full of surprises. You will not be disappointed going back to Wolf Haven.
I've enjoyed every book of this series and hope there are more to come. While waiting, I'm going to give the other books based on the John Decker world a try.
This was the 15th of the John Decker series and I enjoyed it very much. The idea of CUSP and paranormal criminals and monsters makes great reading. I will be putting number sixteen on my Kindle soon. Thanks to author Strong for some exciting reading!
I have devoured every book in this series, after coming across them by accident. Brilliant reads and the whole series is interwoven from the very start even if you don't realise. Hugely entertaining and highly recommend.
This was another good novel, but it never seemed to reach heights in excitement or pacing. It was an enjoyable, dependable read, but I was left feeling it could have been an even more epic story. Still, it is worth reading.
This was a good read- it was fun seeing Wolf Haven again, with Decker facing his past. The loup garou was a great twist, definitely didn't see that coming!
