This book was one of my favorite books growing up. Sweet Potato Pie is a simple book about being together as a family. When grandma made her sweet potato pie, the family stopped doing whatever they were doing to come back to the house and eat the pie as a family. This book, in particular, made me sad. My grandmother, who passed away, made the best sweet potato pie I had ever eaten.

This book is about a family working together to make potato pie. Everybody loves grandmom potato pie because it shows family love. This book is a good book for ELL students because it does not have difficult words. They can learn vocabulary easily from this book.
