Enjoyed on openlibrary.org. 1925 but feels quite a bit more fresh.

I would have adored this collection and read it over & over as a child. I think I've seen some art by the illustrator before, perhaps at my grandmother's house half a century ago. Includes a happy ending Gingerbread Boy, and a standard Little Red Hen. Today my favorite story was Mr. Pig Goes to Market by Merle G. Walker; too bad that author has apparently been lost to ephemera.

My grandmother used to read to me out of an original copy of this book and eventually left it to me; I recently got it back into my possession. It gave me the warm fuzzies to look through again. My favorite story as a child? "Little Black Sambo." :/

My Grandmother gave me this book and I still have it in my hall closet. I adore this book, read it to my own children when they were little and was warm fuzzied surprised to find my birthday card from my grandparents still in the book from when I received it over 20 years ago. The stories in this book are classics and well loved by many.
