Very atmospheric. I feel like I now know just what it was like in wartime London, especially that part about keeping calm and carrying on. These stories started off seeming inconsequential, but the realization of their weight just kept building.

I used this book to research the uncanny in Elizabeth Bowen's wartime short stories. Gold Mine!
