The endless winter is all Owain has ever known. Taking advantage of his resources as a magician’s apprentice, he sets out to put an end to the Ice Queen’s blizzard, once and for all. He expects to lose his life. He doesn’t expect to be entranced by the Ice Queen’s hard gaze, fascinated with her cruel magic, warmed by her cold heart…
The Ice Queen's Court is a high-heat romance romance novella that answers the question, "What if someone gave their true love 78 birds over the course of 12 days?" and "Why would a person do something so strange?" Make it a retelling of The Snow Queen and there you go, a memorable reading experience.
The Ice Queen keeps receiving gifts from an unexpected visitor as an attempt to stop the never ending winter (a play on the 12 days of Christmas)
A short 92 day spicy novella that actually has a story line! I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this. I saw a friend on Bookstagram share it so I decided to give it a shot. I think Brigid Finn did an incredible job!
I’m a Halloween gal…so who would’ve thought that a 12 days of Christmas novella with a ton of spice would be the thing putting me in the holiday spirit!? ❤️🔥
Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I loved it! And I want to recommend this book to anyone looking for a nice quick spicy winter read ❄️🎄🌶️
This book is short and simple and takes a whole new twist on the 12 days of Christmas. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Although not entirely focused on Christmas there is a well-known theme brought into the story. I thought the characters were charming in their own ways. However, I did feel like they went from acquaintances to more quite suddenly. At the same time I understand that this sometimes happens even in real life so I wouldn't say it isn't realistic but it did surprise me a little. Owain wears his heart on his sleeve and the Ice Queen's past makes you want the best for her too. What will happen in the end? Will Owain be successful in his task? Where will that leave their budding relationship?
Owain was tasked with finding a way to get the eternal winter that plagued his country with a never-ending blizzard to stop. In order to do this he must meet the Ice Queen, nobody has successfully made it through the blizzard and to her castle in the 100 years she has been there. This makes the queen realize that Owain is different from the other men she has encountered in her life.
Owain has heard stories about the Ice Queen since he was a little boy. She is different then how he imagined her all those years ago. When he was younger he imagined she was a soft and warm girl, like his mother or sister. When he got older he realized that after being alive over 100 years she couldn't be human and therefore must be cruel. However, when he meets her he finds that neither of those thoughts are the case in reality.
Tasked with getting the Ice Queen to end winter he must charm her into a friendship of sorts, but being the only man she has seen in one hundred years she is naturally curious about Owain. Owain quickly sees a side to her that changes his opinion, and as he gains her trust she opens up to him about how she became the Ice Queen... this changes the way they see each other. Can Owain thaw the Ice Queen's frozen heart, or is she fated to be tortured by the nightmares of her past and live forever alone?

I really enjoyed this twist on the 12 days of Christmas tale. A magician visits an ice queen to try and convince her to put a stop to Winter in his hometown. She believes she's not the one casting this winter spell and he has to convince her otherwise.
She ends up warming up to him and they have a mutual spicy relationship. But soon enough she wants him there every single day and he comes and brings her a different bird every day.
If you love your holiday books with more spice and plot this one's for you. Although I enjoyed the plot I was really here for all the yummy spice and it was perfect. 10/10 recommend.
Magical, enchanting, original, sensual - an intoxicating tale of quiet beauty. The Ice Queen's Court puts a deliciously clever spin on this fairy story.
Feel the ice on your tongue, the breath in the air and the snowflakes on your skin as Owain's love slowly thaws Gwyneira's icy body. This is powerful writing and surprisingly erotic for short form writing.
Loved the Twelve days theme and the ingenious use of the birds! Absolute brilliance! Highly recommend!.

A wonderful read! I've not seen another story using this idea before so found it unique and interesting. I really enjoyed the twist on the original Carol and the appropriately named chapter headings.
A dual POV from both Owain and the Ice Queen - Gwyneira allowing you an insight into each character's thoughts, reactions and backstories.
A quick fast paced and spicy read perfect for winter. I certainly recommend this book.
The author has given us an entirely different look at the Snow Queen Fairytale. The story pulls us into the lives of Owain and Gwyneira. The story keeps us turning the pages with determination, connection, insecurities, love and steam.

This was a cute spicy holiday story that took the story of the 12 Days of Christmas and changed it to fit the Ice Queen. I really enjoyed it and it would have been great if it wouldn't have had any spice at all. It was just a cute short story that you could read in a few hours.
Owain is kind and caring with a clear objective until he finds himself getting closer to the Ice Queen Gwyneira. This is a short romance. It did take about 3-4 chapters before I got into it but then I really started to enjoy it so be patient and you will be reward with a very entertaining read.
Enthralling, sensual and seductive. The Ice Queen’s Court is a short, but hot read. I’m always happy when a book has spice but the story itself is also good! And that was definitely the case here. The characters were lovely. However, the ending was cute, but I’m lacking something. 4⭐️ (ARC-read)
This was an interesting story. I liked how the author incorporated the twelve days of Christmas with the Ice Queen story. Of course I loved the steamy moments between the two characters.

A beautiful story. It was written so well. It captures the reader’s attention so well, the story although rather shirt was written rather beautifully. I enjoyed the relationship building between the two main characters. They both learned from each other. A definite recommend 🤩
Ahh a story to melt the heart. This is a lovely short story, another great book by Brigid Finn. I loved the idea that his gifts where slowly breaking through her walls.
5/5 ⭐️ 5/5🌶️ This book was so cute and super spicy. It’s a short novella retelling of the 12 days of Christmas with a twist and lots of spice, also an adorable HEA.
⭐⭐⭐⭐️(4/5 Stars) 🌶️ It’s spicy Brigid Finn’s fantasy romance, The Ice Queen’s Court, is sweet novella that offers a fun spin on the Twelve Days of Christmas. It is a quick read at only 92 pages, but it certainly packs a punch. There was no skimping on the storyline or spice, which can be a challenge with novellas. I really enjoyed the book. It was a breath of fresh air and very fitting with the current season. It’s a perfect little palate cleanser if you’re feeling burnt out or in a reading slump. I hope you check it out. If you do, come back and let me know what you thought in the comments.

Owain is a good person. He is a magician's apprentice. He is on his way to the court of the Ice Queen for he has had enough of being cold, of the endless winter. He has twelve days. Can he make her lift this winter, this cold? Can he find the root cause? He doesn't know but he is determined to try.
After being the only one to survive the blizzard Owain has an audience with the queen, Gwyneira he knows that he needs to find a way to stay and what better way than by giving her a gift so that she will invite him back. It works, day after day and of course the gifts become bigger and more extravagant with each day but at the same time there is a growing bond between the two and we begin to learn what happened to make the queen create this eternal winter and hope that Owain really can convince her to break the curse.
The Snow Queen, The Twelve Days of Christmas and a hint of Scherezade make this a compelling and beautiful story that it will be a joy to read again, one chapter a day for the twelve days of Christmas. The only difference is that I love snow and will be hoping for some to fall!.
