I love gingerbread...REAL gingerbread. This was a fantastic cookbook filled with a variety of recipes. Chocolate gingerbread? Yes! Great history, pictures, and ideas. The only thing missing? Scratch and sniff gingerbread stickers.

A comforting read on a winter day. I liked the narrative descriptions of recipes. The photography was nice. I have not baked anything from this yet, although combining ginger w chocolate cake sounds very good!

If I bake something from it and it works I will bump up the star-o-meter!

Recipes for gingerbread cakes, cookies, desserts, ice creams, pancakes, waffles, doughnuts, etc. Some intriguing ingredients (i.e. Chinese five-spice powder for Five-Spice Gingersnaps). There are photos for some of the recipes, but could use more.

Cookie molds are mentioned on pages 5, 37, and 41, with a recipe for Pressed Spicy Gingerbread Cookies (containing mustard powder...interesting). Some of the other recipes might also work with molds, including the Gingerbread House Dough (page 122) with brewed espresso in it.

What started as a "why not?" Purchase has turned into my Go-To sweets cookbook. I have never tried so many recipes in one book and have them all turn out so delicious. The author even gives cooking tips ("better to remove from hear too early than too late") that give me a little more confidence when it comes to making candies.
My favorite cookbook hands down.

I love gingerbread. So, when I found this cookbook, I immediately got it. It is filled with all kinds of wonderful delights, all including gingerbread. The only thing it needs is more pictures.

Who knew ginger could be so yummy?

I picked up this book because I wanted to make the cookies on the cover (chocolate-ginger crinkle cookies) they were a revelation.
