Short children's biography of the surrealist painter Rene Magritte. The brief text highlights interesting and relevant facts. Many good-sized color reproductions of his art. Very good introduction to this artist, suitable for elementary school children. No back matter.

Mike Venezia does a great job with introduction books on artists. I love his sense of humor which makes the books fun to read. This series always includes reproductions of the artist's actual artwork which is absolutely critical for understanding and learning about art. The only complaint I have is that back pages highlighting the art's life would be very valuable. My only wish is that Mike Venezia would write more books covering other artists.
