I'm not an NIV fan really but this was a gift and I love it. It holds great personal meaning. The devotionals are many and related to several passages, all being good guides, encouraging, touching on a variety of topics and well-written. Great for women who are looking for encouragement along with a bible. Includes some great Christian women authors such as Ruth Graham Bell.

As secular as my job is, it’s astonishing how often religion comes up in my work. Many patients turn up with Bibles in hand and I even have a study where each session begins with prayer. No complaints about that since I applaud anything that connects people with a higher power but I realized it was time to have more Bible knowledge so I committed to reading the Bible from Genesis through Revelations.
The four stars are not for the content of the Bible itself. Rating the Bible is insane. I’m actually rating the Zondervan's NIV Women’s Devotional Bible I primarily used along with their NIV Study Bible and even Harper’s New American Catholic Bible for the extra Old Testament content not included in Protestant Bibles, such as those great stories at the end of the Book of Daniel. The NIV translation was highly accessible and, for the most part, the female-focused devotions were not as traditional as I feared yet sometimes lacked depth and sometimes were oddly placed. At the height of the apocalyptic chaos in Revelations, a devotion about the mother of Timothy, he of 1 Timothy and 2 Timothy, praying for his salvation as a child? Then again, it’s difficult to come up with an appropriate inspirational devotion after the whore of Babylon has ridden the beast with seven heads and ten horns.

Update 3/2009 review----
I am finding the more involved I get with it that I really have to carry my KJV just to refer to and see the Red Letter Writings so that I KNOW when it is something Jesus spoke for sure. I think this is a great starter but only a first year Bible maybe. The more I am growing the more I am yearning for a study Bible of some sort. Really though I honestly think if this had the red letter writings I would be content it really is all I said previously but the more i grow the more I learn what it lacks and it saddens me because I am kinda attached to my friend this Bible I have had for about a year or more now and I will be letting it go to sit on shelf as a memory to look back on how I have grown. But it is time to grow and I need a Bible that can offer the more indepth teachings which also shows when Jesus is speaking because his words ARE SOOO important to know and this Bible does not offer that.
I would reccommend this to those who are just starting with no background in the Bible, it is less intimidating compared to other Bibles, but really i wish i had gone with the more expensive Study Bible to begin with because now I am off to get it after all LOL... This has been a good Bible please dont get me wrong it just is not offering me what I need to continue to grow in my faith now, but maybe (ha come on we know there is no maybe here)the Lord used the simplistity of this Bible to bring me closer to him so that I could mature and more readliy understand the Study Bible that quiet frankly was a bit intimidating a year ago. :)

i find it well planned and easy to follow an improvement from previous additions.. i especially like the intorduction on who is being talked to the time period and verses to remember sections.

I like the size, coloring inside and out and the portability factors of this Bible. The devotions...not at good as my Mom's or True Identity...but certainly a good solution for someone wanting a small Bible to total places without worry.

This is truly amazing. I'm convinced that it has revolutionized my relationship with God. By following the structured lessons and self-reflections, I have had some of the most defining moments in my faith doing my devotions each night. Included in each daily "lesson" are: scripture reading, coordinating anecdote and thoughts, quotes, related biblical readings, and reflection questions. I think every woman should choose this because its written by women, for women and everything about it is like a giant hug and so insightful.

NIV was my chosen translation back in the day. However, I'm becoming partial to my Geneva Bible and also use KJV, ESV, etc. This devotional Bible is not my favorite... the devotions are so-so, one at least has a glaring doctrinal error, spouting the old "God won't give you more trouble than you can handle." (The truth is that God won't TEMPT you beyond what you can bear. You, Christian, can fight against sin- He will give you a way out.)

I do not like the expression, "Oh my God", in the way so many people today use it. But I believe in this case it is appropriate. "Oh my God, how majestic is Your Name in all the earth. Praise the Lord oh my soul."
The Holy Bible is without a doubt the best, most hopeful, most uplifting book I have ever read in my life. Truly the best "how to" book for living a good life. This particular version, with commentary from women of faith, has been a delight to read.

Reading and studying this entire book has been a goal for several years. I will continue to reread this and hopefully understand it more in the years to come. There is more hope and wisdom in this book then any other book in the history of man. This is literally the one book that could save the world!

I got this Bible from my (then) boyfriend, now Husband for Christmas. It has beautiful devotions and thought provokers for ever three days in the reading program. Reflections are dedicated to women and today's society.

This bible has been with me since 2017. It is so durable and so nice to own a woman bible. This is a gift to myself. I love the extra blank white pages that I make notes as my season turns. I am finishing the review but since this bible is my daily companion during my quiet time. I love the suggested readings and daily reflections. You can choose which plans to follow or make your own plans. I love the design and pages that it is soo girly
I own a hardbound and somehow have seen my season since 2017.
I hope I can own the leather one soon.
My money was worth it and this has been with my season of unemployment or new love. The words are easy to read and understand during my quiet time. I love it.

Wonderful lessons and message
Bible with lessons and explanations. Easy to navigate and get around. Able to type notes and highlight any message then able to test to learn and memorize scripture.

Just getting around to adding this to my "Read" list. I have a much older version from 1990. The messages from the devotionals have just as much meaning today as when they were first written. It's held together with ducttape and love.

All of the notes, articles, and other features have a light conventional tone.

The Cover and Text: The cool spiral designs of the cover give this Bible a very whimsical yet modern look. The purple text is easy to read, and surprisingly isn't a distraction.(From now on I'll be looking for purple letter editions.)
The Features: Many of the articles are interesting and useful, but at times some articles come across as overly simplistic. This would be a good Bible for women looking for answers to every day issues.
I recommend this Bible to women looking for a devotional Bible with a conversational tone.

Beautifully designed bible from Zondervan!
I love the bible's introduction, which explains what a devotional bible is and why use it. I always reccomend when picking up a new bible for yourself: especially if it is a study or devotional bible that you read the introduction so you can get a sense of how to get the most out of the features included which can enhance your reading of the scripture.
There is also a section there on how you can schedule your time with God, which I thought was a very nice touch! Considering how this can be one of my biggest challenges 😅
So going into the old and new testament, there are 260 devotions for each weekday of the year and 52 devotionals that you can read over the weekend.
Written by different women with different experiences, they offer further insight into the scripture you're reading, character profiles of women in scripture, and what we can learn from them today.
So many woman have contributed! From writers, speakers, CEOs and pastors. It was great to read some devotionals by Lisa Harper, Sheila Walsh and Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of Ruth and Billy Graham. You can see who else has contributed to the devotionals by reading the biographies at the back of the bible.
To apply what you have been reading into your life, there are questions alongside the devotions that provoke you to dig deeper and reflect. So you're not only reading scriptures, you have a way and questions alongside to apply lessons and principles into your life ✨️✨️✨️
As well as the features it looks lovely 😍 gorgeous Navy leathersoft design. With a gold/bronzey gilding and 2 satin ribbon markers, this is a beautifully crafted NIV bible.
Also, who also like reading plans like myself? There is one at the back of the book 📖 🙌

I always appreciate when there is the option to have an edition of a bible in large print. My eyes tend to get tired after reading for a while. With my vision, it's always an easier reading experience when text is print size 10.
I love the devotions in this bible, and getting to see the women of the bible from another perspective written by women from all sorts of professions and walks of life was really insightful.
The guided reflections and questions help me apply verses and lessons from scripture to what I might be experiencing today. I would say no matter your age, whether you're a stay at home mum or a ceo. Whether you are young or old, the features and encouragement found in this bible will help you grow in your walk with God and His word.

The front cover of this Bible draws me to it. The color and design are welcoming to the eye. Inside, the title and number of the chapters are in green, the rest of the text is brown. This breaks up the monotony for me. In the middle of every few pages there is a Bible Verse from that page that is highlighted in a box. It really helps the eyes get rest from reading.
There are introductions to each book in the Bible. That is not so different from other Bibles. What makes it interesting are the side-columns. There are facts about the book, about the author of the book, the dates it takes place, who it was written for and where it takes place. There is even a memory verse. You get a better understanding of each book of the Bible with all these facts presented.
This Bible has Week Day Devotions and Week-End Devotions. The Week Day Devotions have questions for reflection. You are asked questions about yourself and your relationship with God. The Week-End Devotions are readings, with many being about a woman in the Bible. The Week-End Devotions can be read quicker.
I really like this Bible. My favorite color is green and this book is full of it. the The introduction to each book has a green background picture, the highlighted verses are in a green box. The boxes for week day devotion reflections are shades of green and brown. The brown and green theme is very relaxing. It is very easy to read also. The devotions and boxed verses really help to keep the reading interesting. I think that everything in the introductions makes me want to read it more because I have a better understanding of the time period and what's going on in the region of the writing. I would recommend this Bible who wants to get out of the rut of finding the Bible not interesting. You will look forward to reading this Bible daily.

There are introductions to each book in the Bible. That is not so different from other Bibles. What makes it interesting are the side-columns. There are facts about the book, about the author of the book, the dates it takes place, who it was written for and where it takes place. There is even a memory verse. You get a better understanding of each book of the Bible with all these facts presented.
This Bible has Week Day Devotions and Week-End Devotions. The Week Day Devotions have questions for reflection. You are asked questions about yourself and your relationship with God. The Week-End Devotions are readings, with many being about a woman in the Bible. The Week-End Devotions can be read quicker.
I really like this Bible. My favorite color is green and this book is full of it. the The introduction to each book has a green background picture, the highlighted verses are in a green box. The boxes for week day devotion reflections are shades of green and brown. The brown and green theme is very relaxing. It is very easy to read also. The devotions and boxed verses really help to keep the reading interesting. I have never been able to get through the complete Bible in one year. I have started it several times but cant seem to finish it. I generally like to do Beth Moore BIble studies, but this year I picked up this Bible. It like the way it offers daily offerings that speaks right to a womans heart. I am also the victim of a targeting by several groups of people. It has adversely affected my life. I went from being a professional woman who owned my house by myself without a husband or family to help me. In the seven years that I have been targeted by this awful group of people, I have experienced much loss. People that have hurt me in profound ways are currently affecting my well being or really lack thereof. This Bible gets me ready for each day and the awful tactics that are used to further damage my life. I can pick it up in the A.M. and do my morning Bible study and it helps set up my mindset for the day. I can handle the awful "teamwork" of the life annihilaters alot better now. I might pick up a Beth Moore Bible study again down this line, but I am determined to finish the Bible in one year and this one really really suits me.
