Samantha isn’t feeling very festive as she heads back to her childhood hometown for Christmas—but being alone, homeless, and verging on jobless can do that to a woman. She has no interest in participating in the town Christmas celebrations and would rather just crawl into bed until the holidays are over. Determined to get back into the Christmas spirit, Sam plans on seducing her childhood best friend—and fantasy guy—Jack. A holiday fling will be just the thing to kick her Scrooge-like attitude.
Jack’s been in love with Samantha for years, but he didn’t make his move before someone else did. Now she’s finally single again, and Jack’s not going to waste any time. He has a little over a week to convince Samantha they belong together, and that moving back to their childhood town to be with him is the right thing to do. As he woos her with carriage rides and homemade desserts, he learns Sam has been offered a new job half-way across the country, and he fears he’s about to lose her all over again.
Tiffany Marie grew up in Michigan and currently lives in northern Indiana with her wonderfully supportive husband, rambunctious young son, and two rescued pets. She has worked in an elementary school, a bookstore, and a winery, and now she stays home with her son and writes whenever she has a few minutes to spare. She spends her free time reading too many romance novels, drinking too much Diet Pepsi, and taking too many naps.
Our Grinch wanted a holiday fling, but he wants to be with her forever.
A Pussy?
NO WAY!
How can you resist a man who is not afraid of commitment? He had been in love with Samantha for a whole lot of years, but did not make a move until someone else got to her first. Now, she’s once again single. She had broken up with her fiancé, she’s back in town – and he’d do everything to show her how much he cares and it might just make her stay in their little town. He has just a week to convince Sam that they were destined for each other: so he woos her: he dined her, dated her, and kissed her until he found out that she accepted the job half-way across the country. He might just lose her again.
Samantha is the next Grinch. How can she feel the Christmas spirit when her fiancé left her after cheating on her for a very long time, she doesn’t have her condo anymore and she’s about to lose her job – what’s to celebrate? She didn’t want to join the town’s festivities and would just love to stay at home and find comfort in her bed. But seeing her old childhood friend Jack, who was way hotter than she had last seen him, made her rethink her decision. She plans on seducing him, engage on some holiday fling with her childhood fantasy and perhaps it will help her get back her Christmas spirit.
I enjoyed reading this short-holiday novella. Jack is a sweetheart, unlike other man, he had waited for Samantha for so long, and is now grabbing his chance to finally make her his – forever, that is. He didn’t let her sulk, instead urge her to go out with him and enjoy the town activities. Soon, Sam was enjoying herself and her cheating fiancé and all other worries were put aside. They were meant to be together, they were good friends, and even their families are friends. Samantha was too blind to see it, and had almost lost it if she hasn’t woken up from her trance and finally realize that this guy loves her and wanted to be with her.
I always find it a little bit weird, but at the same time totally adorable for a guy to show some emotions, be the one to WANT commitment, and chase the girl who doesn’t. Couple it with the Christmas season, some meddling folks, intense Christmas competition, and some steamy romance – it’s one perfect holiday read.

Ok, so I am a big softy when it comes to Christmas books, I try to read one every year. This year I have read a few of them. But Just A Holiday Fling stands out as one I will revisit. There is just something about a small town during the holidays that just makes it feel like Christmas. Maybe it’s because I am from a small town, maybe it’s because it just feels quaint, a place where everyone knows everyone and loves you just the same.
Samantha has lost the Christmas spirit right along with her Condo, her boyfriend and possibly her job. But she is coming home for the holidays and she just wants to take the time to figure things out. She has a job opportunity waiting for her in Chicago and she is determined to take this time to find out if that is where she needs to go. Her big dilemma is that it would move her far away from her dad and the small town she knows and loves. When she gets home, while admiring her father’s Christmas decor, the neighbor walks out of his house.
She has known Jack for nearly 30 years and she has always crushed on him a bit, ok more like a ton, but she has always known that he has never looked at her that way. They were pals. Nothing more. But something sparks deep down inside the moment he embraces her into a welcome home hug.
For Jack, this is his big opportunity to finally get exactly what he wants. The woman that he has always loved has returned home, single. He is determined to spend the next two weeks showing her the only reason she needs to stay in this town. He is determined to prove to her that he loves her. But is she ready for that or is this truly just a simple holiday fling? And old friend with new benefits?
This book made me believe all over again in the magic of Christmas. It made me want to embrace the season a little more to look at my life and the people I am surrounded by and remember all the things in life that I have truly been blessed with. It just made me happy. Just A Holiday Fling reminds us that there is more to Christmas than the lights (although judging by the bickering between neighbors in th ebook you may not have guessed it) and the tinsle. Christmas is about love. But is about wanting to give love and to receive love. This book just brings out the bright side of the holidays and it just simply made me smile.

Samantha feels like her life is falling apart and she isn't in the mood for Christmas. She is going back home for Christmas after being dumped, losing her condo and maybe her job. She is going to have to decide where to go ext. It's hard to keep the bad mood when her dad is in a competition with the neighbor for best decorations or when her childhood best friend Jack gets her out of the house. She has had feelings for him for years and decides she wants a fling with him. Jack has been in love with Sam for years. Now that she is single he wants to make his move. He has to make her see she should stay with him. He only has a week to convince her it is more than a fling.
This is a wonderful short story. Sam is feeling depressed but the wonderful little town she is from makes her feel better. She doesn't want to be someone who does nothing with her life and is trying to decide what steps to take next. She has the hots for Jack but is afraid of another commitment. Jack is amazing. He likes to have fun, is the fun loving uncle and has an amazing family. He is also very sexy. I love when he and Sam are together and would love a shower with him lol. He does so many sweet things to try and get Sam to stay. Every time they try to make things work they end up butting heads. This is a charming town and the author makes it sound like a wonderful place you would love to visit. I love seeing their dads compete over decorations and other over cookies. This is an amazing story about love, hope, Christmas and so much more. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more stories about this town I hope.
I received a copy of this book in place of an honest review.
If you love a great Christmas story, then this is the one that you should really read. You have a woman that has loved her neighbor and best friend all of her life and she left and met a new guy only to lose him months before the wedding because he was cheating on her. You have a guy that has wanted the girl and never let his feelings be known, seems everyone in his family knew about it and like to rub it in. You also have two neighbors in completion with each other one month out of the year and the rest of the time they are great friends.
Samantha and Jack's story is the home time feeling book that you love to read and will leave you wanting more. Just listening to their father's fight over who is going to win the completion this year was funny. This is the kind of hometown life everyone would love to experience. Doesn't matter what you will always have the people that really loves you and will do anything for you when you come back home.
I feel in love with the story and the cover was something that really caught my eye. I could just see how in love the couple was and that they looked like they were having a great time. The author just grabbed a hold of me and didn't let go even when I had finished reading this story. This will be a favorite of mine for years to come. I can even see myself reading this book all year round.
I found JUST A HOLIDAY FLING so cute and beautiful. I love how Sam and Jack always goof around. I love the bickering Jack’s father and Sam’s father always have over who’s house will win on Christmas. I love how Sam always wants something sweet to eat so she can get a sugar high. Everything in this book is amazing.
It is Summer and reading a book made in the Holidays makes me want Christmas to get here now. The Christmas setting for this book made the story so captivating to me. I found myself getting excited over every single detail. I have so many favorite parts of this book but the one that meant the most to me was when Sam and Jack went sledding. That was so much fun to read! If I was in love with these two characters before, I fell even more in love with them after the sledding. Even though they are adults, they went sledding just two of them, and they enjoyed it, as if they were still little kids.
I see this story as one of making decisions in life. Sam has to make decisions that could hurt her loved ones as well as herself. I love how Sam is such a strong character. She went through a lot in just a few months and yet, there she is with her father and her childhood friend having the time of her life.
Another thing that I love about the story is that three characters are introduced into the story at the end of the book, which are the ones that will continue onto to the sequel, Nothing Compares To You.
I like Christmas stories, and I like friends-to-lovers plotlines, so this book was basically perfect for me. :O)
I loved the rapport between Sam and Jack from the beginning. It's fun and snarky, and I definitely laughed out loud a few times while reading. Jack was sweet and romantic, and not an over-the-top alpha hero like you frequently find in romance novels. It was refreshing to read a book starring a nice guy. (Julia Quinn also rocks at nice-guy heroes!) Sam was a bit angsty at times, but it was believable and never overdone.
The small town setting was fun, especially with the holiday competitions going on around town. We met a few interesting side characters that I get the feeling will star in upcoming books in the series. Sam's interactions with her father were fun and endearing, and there's a bit of romance happening for him, as well.
My complaints? (Because there's always something!) 1. I would have liked the story to be a bit longer. Because Sam and Jack were already friends, the relationship still felt well-developed, but I just wanted more of the story.
2. The ending felt a bit rushed. It was adorable and definitely had that "Awww" factor, but I wanted more. This is the first in a series, so I'm sure I'll be seeing these characters again in subsequent books, though, which helps.
I love a Christmas romance (even when it's not the right season), so I took a chance on this one. It started off sweet, but Sam and Jack quickly became really annoying.
Sam is home for Christmas, and sees Jack (who she's been in love with for YEARS). Turns out Jack has been in love with her too, but hasn't made a move. Hence the holiday fling. Jack (in the beginning anyway) is pretty much perfect, so I got really annoyed that Sam kept running hot and cold. After so much back and forth I started wondering what Jack saw in her in the first place.
And while Jack was so sweet in the beginning, his quick dismissal of Sam's career aspirations kind of ruined his character. He's already got a great job, why doesn't Sam deserve the same.
Near the end when Sam demands that Jack hire a woman that he's never met for an office manager job (Sam doesn't even know the woman!), I wanted Sam to leave and not come back.
The small town Christmas setting and Sam and Jack's bickering fathers are really the only parts I enjoyed.
She wants a fling and he wants forever. When does that ever happen? Just a Holiday Fling is the perfect combo of some of my favorite things: best friends, hometown love, and Christmas. Jack is the perfect guy and one that Sam has secretly lusted after since they were kids (awww). Alas, they have never been in the same place at the same time. But it turns out Jack is just as enamored of Sam as she is of him.
Sam is your quintessential girl next door and I loved her take charge attitude with regards to Jack. Snagging him is her foremost mission and I love her single mindedness. She is one of those characters that you wish you knew in real life, charming, smart and fun. Those three words would also perfectly describe Jack, although I would add ridiculously hot. Just a Holiday Fling is a sweet sexy tale that should be required reading for How to Woo Your Woman 101. I loved it and it put me in the perfect mood for this holiday season.
Let me first say I am soooo not a Christmas person, although the last few years it’s gotten a little better since I have kids. So I was absolutely in love with this book just by the opening few paragraphs, including this little gem: "She made it through one song—albeit with gritted teeth—before turning the music back off. “Oh by gosh, by golly, I’ll show you where you can shove that mistletoe and holly,” she muttered.”
What a fun holiday romance! As a huge fan of Friends to Lovers Romances, this one was all that and more...and I just so happen to LOVE a Hero Named Jack!
From Decorating, to Snow to Cookie Exchanges...JUST A HOLIDAY FLING had all the elements to get you in the spirit for the Holidays, especially some VERY steamy kisses that could fog up any car window!
If you are looking for a Holiday Romance that will have you smiling at the last page, will give JUST A HOLIDAY FLING a try!
It seemed a little rushed! Samantha Tate is back home after her fiancee betrayed her,and then she lost her job and her condo. Jack Parker has loved her since they were teenagers and he regrets letting her get away. Now he wants a future with Samantha but she just wants a fling. Sam has a lot of issues in her life and it feels like she hasn't taken time out to work through her feelings.
I love Christmas Romance and I was very excited about this book. Though I really enjoyed it, I would have liked a little more character development, particularly for Jack. Overall, it was fun, light, and quick, so it was great for reading during the holidays.
Received this book as a free giveaway. I really enjoyed the story. It was full of steamy dialogue. Could not put the book down. The book is a little short, about 100 pages or so.
