The only problem I have with this little gem is that I want more!!!! 😭

description/

For merely over an hour listen, this packed such a punch. I need my own mountain man now! With soft beard and lovely eyes and big hands. 😍

description/

This is everything my little greedy heart wants in a short holiday story, romantic, sexy (oh yes! Very very sexy!!! 🔥) and fun. And damn! Sean Crisden’s narration was toe curlingly good!

I’m in love. 🥰 I’m sure I’m going to have several dates with this little gem in the future because I’m now bespelled and in love.

I feel kind of funny giving something this short (and this easy for SV to put together) five stars, but honestly, it's perfect! Loved it the whole way through and it was flawless, and I listened to it again straight away :)

Sean Crisden was perfect.

This book is sweet, sexy as heck and was a very fun short read. Mac and Eli was so awesome together, and interesting enough that I could easily see enough fun and happiness to fill a sequel to this Christmas short!

This nice Christmas short about young romance writer Eli, who just got out of a bad relationship and stays at a remote mountain cabin over Christmas to sort out his thoughts, is totally cute.

He arrives there in a snow storm with no fire wood in sight. Slightly panicking in the way 'city boys' often do in books, he calls a local wood delivery service and meets Mac.
Mac is the kind of hot hairy chested lumberjack bear that a gay man's wet dreams are made of.
I really loved him. He was sweet, considerate and absolutely adorable.
I absolutely loved how he referred to his mother as 'Mama', like an Italian bachelor. So cute.

You can bet he helped Eli enjoy his lonely Christmas with a bang ;-)

I totally liked this.

4 stars!

A breakup just before Christmas is tougher than one at almost any other time of the year. With festive cheer all around you while you’re either grieving the loss of a relationship or angry at the bastard who cheated on you, just highlights the fact that you’re suddenly alone. This is exactly the situation Eli faces, and I felt absorbed by his despondence, thoughts, and hopes from the first page.

Eli is a writer and has been told he's boring. Since he isn’t good with people, it is easy for him to withdraw and suffer his loneliness. After his previous lover cheats on him and they separate, that is exactly what Eli does. With the rest of his family otherwise engaged for the holidays, his mother insists he at least get out of the apartment and drive to the mountains for the holidays. He intends to make it a "writer's retreat", and instead faces snow, a wood stove without wood, a power outage, and the sexiest wood deliverer he's ever met.

I laughed out loud at Eli's thoughts about Mac when he first comes to deliver wood. The two men are clearly attracted to each other, but Eli doesn’t trust himself to fall for the man at first. A very hot encounter later this seems much less of a concern. And as much as Eli thinks he is a 'city boy', it looks to me as though he'll fit in perfectly. How does the saying go? "Home is where the heart is". In few cases is this as true as with Eli and Mac.

If you like sweet stories that are fun and easy to read, if you enjoy a bit of heat with your Christmas cheer, and if you're looking for some fun characters that will make you laugh while you likely shake your head at their antics, then you will probably enjoy this short book. I definitely did!

*** Thank you Darlene for recommending this one !
I simply found this story wonderful ! I loved the premise, the lovely characters, and the super hot sexiness of this pair. Eli, 28, just found his boyfriend cheating on him, and wasn't in the Christmas spirit. He's a writer, and his Mom encouraged him to go to their friend's cabin for some relaxing time. Relaxing isn't how it began, as the snow storm pounded the area, he barely made it there, and then, no wood...now what?
Enter Mac, the "wood" guy who comes to the rescue, and added food, too. Each man is struck with an immediate attraction, and their banter is witty, and the story is fun.

Silvia Violet is a wonderful writer, and this was just the right amount of everything for a charming Christmas tale !
Highly recommended ! ENJOY !
==========
I liked this author's "Fitting In" series, too !

Short and sweet. To short for more than 3 Stars but I enjoyed it. Loved the characters and the idea around the story. Would have loved a longer version. ;-)

We get the fun of a snowstorm and a super nice guy in Mac. A great deal of insta love and lust but it goes will with a cup of coco.

Fun times which as always could have been longer.

The Romance Review

Need a little affirmation of being worthy? When a sexy mountain man shows up to rescue Eli in a freezing cold cabin, this Christmas is starting to look up.

Eli is a writer who's been jilted by his lover in a crass manner. Feeling despondent, his mother convinces him to take a little winter break in a family friend's cabin in the mountains. Scatterbrained Eli doesn't pay attention to the weather or verify what supplies he needs in the cabin. Trapped in a snowstorm, Eli's relaxing winter vacation is not going well.

Mac saves Eli from the cold and starvation. Mac is just what Eli needs to bring him out of his funk. This Christmas-themed story is sweet and enjoyable. Ms. Violet creates a heartwarming romance story. Both characters are engaging. The conflict is easily all too believable. The sex between Mac and Eli is sensual and steamy. Who needs firewood to heat up the cabin? Between Mac and Eli, there is plenty of heat.

This m/m romance is recommended to holiday lovers who enjoy a sweet sensual romance.

The short, sweet beginning of what may grow into a permanent relationship. Mac and Eli made a fun couple and the sex was hot. This short has the potential to be expanded into a longer story in the future.

There are just some narrators that make everything more enjoyable to experience. Sean Crisden, for me, is one of those people. I found I liked the story so much more as I listened to it, than I did while simply reading it.

Sweet story about a guy moving past an unsatisfactory relationship with a man who cheated on him. Eli is talked in to a cabin stay in lieu of a Christmas alone in the apartment he’d shared with his ex. Mac delivers groceries and wood to the cabin and sparks ensue.

There is a good bit of story for just a short book. Worth reading this author again.

Quick and Sweet

This was a sweet little shot for the holidays. Quick passion and a couple of very charming men. A HFN ending that just pushes the eye rolling, but I enjoyed it.

A wonderful Christmas story about a city boy name Eli who reluctantly agreed to stay at a cabin his mother's friend owned in the mountain over the Christmas holidays. He barely makes it to the cabin, and then there's no wood for the woodstove and Eli's freezing.

Eli calls his mother's friend to find out what to do and she gives him the name of the caretaker and another person who deliveries wood just in case. Well, of course the first on refused because he was suppose to bring the wood a week ago and wasn't going out in a bizarre.

Eli calls the second number and falls instantly in love with the man's voice on the phone and will deliver wood. Hunky Mac comes to Eli's rescue and the attraction is mutual, but of course you can't tell a perfect stranger that.

So, begins the best Christmas of Eli and Mac's life. I just loved the short story and I'm sure you will too.

This was a very cute short story (it's listed as a novella but came up around 50 pages on my nook which is a shorty to me). After catching his boyfriend in a compromising position, Eli heads off to a remote cabin to do some writing and get away for a bit. When he arrives at the cabin, he's nervous about finding the Cabin unstocked with a storm rolling in. After calling a wood delivery service, Eli is taken by the sexy voice of the delivery man and finds that the man more than matches the voice. Mac is a diamond in the rough and this story is a very sweet telling of their brief encounter. The story has an HFN which is more than acceptable for this story length, but it was a very nice holiday read.

In spite of the fact that I am a snow scrooge, and I can't stand the stuff, when it comes to fiction, I am a sucker for a good, snowed in romance, especially if it coincides with Christmas. This one was sweet. It packed a lot of holiday and feels into a lovable short story. I really like Eli and Mac. I wish I could read more and find out how they are doing.

Cute short story about a jilted writer who is spending Christmas alone in a remote mountain cabin. He's rescued from pending hypothermia due to no firewood by Mac, a friendly local. The story was enjoyable but too short to really get invested in the characters.

A little too short and as a result not as satisfying as it could have been. But a very cute, sweet romance that is going into my holiday favorites pile.
