When I’m not chasing after my wild preschooler, I like to write super sexy romances and scorching hot erotica. I live in Texas with a husband who could easily snag a job as an extra on History Channel’s new Viking series, a sweet but rowdy three-year-old with Tetralogy of Fallot, and Bosley, our Great Dane with major mommy issues.
I also have another dirty-book writing alter ego, Lolita Lopez, who writes deliciously steamy tales for Ellora’s Cave, Forever Yours/Grand Central, Mischief/Harper Collins UK, Siren Publishing and Cleis Press.
Erin's junkie sister Ruby is a remorseless bitch. She isn't thankful, just belligerent and mean. I would have left her in jail with no money on her acccount.
I liked the sneak peek of protective honor & the growing of back bones. I don't think the sister will change.
Among some of my favorites. Outstanding literary work. The characters are well developed, interesting. The liked characters are likable and the hated are unlikable. The writing is captivating enough to keep you interested until the end and leave you wanting more. It has a fairly original or uniquely well-developed plot. The pretense and romance was well balanced and done with properly distributed amounts of hints, behaviors and chemistry. Not so much predictable if at all. Overall, loved it, I recommend reading!! I liked the sneak peek of protective honor & the growing of back bones. I don't think the sister will change.
I still don't like Ruby but I think the author did a good job showing the mood changes and actions of someone addicted and how their family members coop. Ivan again had to run to the rescue but it was a nice short fill in.
This short story felt more like an epilogue than a bonus story. It takes place after the events of the first book in the series, Ivan, and reveals how Erin's older sister Ruby is doing in the drug rehab program that she is forced to attend in prison.
I found this short story far more interesting than the other two short stories about Erin and Ivan. The complex relationship between siblings simply makes for a much better story. While we frequently hide the ugly parts of ourselves from our friends and lovers, we are unabashedly honest with our siblings, because family is forever. We can see this exemplified in Erin's relationship with Ruby. Regardless of how much Ruby's words hurt her, Erin continues to visit her in prison. Similarly, Ruby continues to try to get better in order to make it up to her sister.
Erin visits her sister in jail, which was such a thing she’d do. I hope their relationship will get better because her sister. Ugh. She makes me so mad. I loved Erins and Ivans interaction. How supportive he is towards her. And just ugh. This shit was sooo cute. I love them.
I love seeing Ivan go all protective over Erin. Makes my heart a flutter! Haha. But I knew that Erin would still have issues with her sisters problems, no matter how mean Ivan can get!
...have sisters who sometimes make very bad choices. ...like when the tattooed bad boy goes all sweet and gentle. ...like it even more when the tattooed bad boy jumps in to protect his lady. ...have enjoyed other books in the Her Russian Protector series.
While the synopsis is a little light, this short story packs a lot of emotional angst into a meeting between Erin and her felonious sister. And then we get to see Ivan caring for his honey. Another nice look at the everyday life of Ivan and Erin.
Still don't like Erin. I think I'm going to say that for every single one of her stories.
I do like Ivan.
I hated Ruby. Honestly, I'd completely wash my hands of her, and not care if she got shivved in prison. (she didn't, I'm saying if she did, I wouldn't care.)
That about sums up my feels regarding this story. Glad it was a quick one so that I will be over and done with when it comes to Erin's annoying stories.
I love these little snipets into Ivan and Erin's relationship after the main story was over. It goes to show that not everything this over and fairytail happy just because the book ended. The story goes on.
I find it interesting how Ruby is still clueless about her actions and still blames everything on Erin and Ivan. She should just stay in jail. I liked that Ivan did what he could to make things better once Erin came out.
