Shapes of Autumn #1

My Wolf's Bane

Rate this book
Different species. Mortal enemies. It'll never work, but they'll die trying.

Autumn Rossi thought she was a normal teenager. Suddenly, she can outrun every critter in the forest, making her wonder if she’s even human.

When the new guy at school, Zack de Luca, witnesses a questionable scene, he unfairly pins her as stuck-up. He acts like he hates her, yet he keeps bailing her out of trouble. Not only is Zack both insufferable and irresistible, he seems to sniff her anytime he gets close.

As passion flares between them, Autumn isn’t sure which is more dangerous: her psycho ex-boyfriend, or falling for Zack — who’s risking his life just by being near her.

Since I wrote it, I'd say it rocks!

But readers beware, as the publisher says in the blurb, it's the romance that drives the story. Everything else is secondary.

PS Zack is hot :-P

Un-freakin-believable!! That is the first word that pops in my mind to sum up My Wolf's Bane by Veronica Blade. I will be honest, I absolutely loved her debut novel Something Witchy This Way Comes and have been dying for the follow-up to that one. Well, My Wolf's Bane - a completely new series - has completely blown that one out of the wooded forest. This is truly one of the best YA Paranormal novels that I have ever read, and I have read several.

What makes My Wolf's Bane stand out to others that I have read? The story line is a fairly unique one - a young werewolf (yes, there are tons of werewolf stories out there, but not like this one) and a young girl who is discovering insane changes to her body, mind and life, come together in a flurry of dislike and distaste. At least that is what they try so hard for - to dislike one another. Zack is 18 and a senior. He is a werewolf who is cherishing his final days with his dying mother. Autumn is 18 and has always been sheltered to the point of being smothered by her parents. When a sudden change in attitude occurs with her parents, Autumn finds herself trusted to be alone for a few weeks while her mother and father are off traveling for her father's job. This is nothing but a huge relief and shock for Autumn. This also leaves the perfect opening for Autumn to try out the special abilities that she has recently obtained.

As antagonism turns to a truce of sorts between Zack and Autumn, they find themselves becoming what resembles friends. This, however, is kicked up a few notches when Autumn's ex becomes insanely jealous and threatening to Autumn. Zack takes it upon himself to protect Autumn, as well as help her in her new-found discoveries and talents. The chemistry between the two doesn't take long to sizzle and the tension between several of the characters to go from steamy to boiling. The story explodes into one that will not soon be forgotten and will long live in the hearts and minds of the reader.

From the very beginning I was hooked on Zack. He is all male, but sensitive and caring - you know the type that every female yearns for - alpha male mixed with bad boy mixed with sensitivity - yep, that is Zack to a "T". I questioned my liking for Autumn in the very beginning, unsure if she was going to be the snobbish type or not. That, opinion, however, was quickly rectified and I found myself adoring her. She is sassy, intelligent, brave, stubborn and takes no guff from Zach - well, with the exception of the "does he, doesn't he" conflict that she constantly goes through with him. Their chemistry is pure fun laced with that yummy underlying steam that teases rather than pours itself out on the pages.

Veronica Blade has such an amazing ability to transform worlds, sucking the reader into the story, making them yearn and crave, fly through pages and take all the world's troubles away. Her characters are incredibly well developed and so true to life that the reader cannot help but feel as though they are right there in the story. My Wolf's Bane is the perfect mixture of paranormal, suspense, romance and just pure fun. From scenes of "sniffing" to scenes of flying through the air with speed, there is never a dull moment in this story. I absolutely loved Zack and Autumn and cannot wait for the next in the series to read more about them - yes, I am begging for a quick release, lol. The ending was perfect - bringing contentment, yet leaving an ocean of questions rolling on the waves of uncertainty. I cannot recommend this one enough and have added it to my favorite reads of 2013, hands down!

Favorite Quote:

As I moved forward to close the space between me and the person in front of me, I felt him move up as well. He was so close, I could feel the warmth radiating from him.

I spun when he leaned into me and inhaled. "Did you just sniff my hair?"

His brows rose in innocence. "Why would I do that?"

As it says in the synopsis, My Wolf's Bane is a romance first, paranormal second. And that's exactly what I found. This was my first werewolf book and I really enjoyed it. Autumn has never been allowed to remain in one place for very long. Her parents move often and she has been home schooled, but now, she is a senior and is finally able to attend public school, and she wants to stay and graduate. But, things are not going as she would have expected. She is experiencing some very strange changes. Her hearing is improving, she heals in an instant, and she can run faster than she ever could have imagined. Why are these things happening to her? And, on top of that, she literally runs into the best looking guy she has ever seen at school, Zack, but he is the rudest boy she has ever met, and obviously wants nothing to do with her. But, why does he keep showing up when she needs help? He has become her very own protector. And, it turns out she needs one from her crazy ex-boyfriend, Daniel. In addition to everything else, her parents announce that they need to move again.

I found Autumn to be a bit naive but as I progressed through the book, I realized it was mostly due to lack of social experience. She learns that hanging out with the popular kids is not as important as finding real friends, friends that will stand by you no matter what.

Now lets talk about Zack. There are so many layers to him and I loved getting to know him. His sense of responsibility to his Mom was so heart warming. And no matter what he really feels for Autumn, he tries to do the right thing in keeping her at arms length. "Don't you see? Everything I've done, I've done for you!" But Autumn is so good for him. "You have to do what's right, even if you're afraid of the consequences. Otherwise, life isn't worth living."

I still have a lot of questions I would like answered and can't wait to see what is next for Zack and Autumn. I really enjoyed Veronica's version of werewolf hierarchy and can't wait to see its effect on Zack and Autumn's future. So, I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. This was a perfect start for me into the werewolf world.

My thanks to Veronica Blade for providing me with a copy of this book for a fair review.

Fantastic read.

It's not often that I turn down, or fail to enjoy, a werewolf story. There's just something about this hot, sexy beast, that I'm drawn too. And Zack was no exception.

Autumn walks out of the room and promptly bumps into a strange, extremely hot guy, only to have her boyfriend Daniel arrive on the scene, act like an arrogant jackass, telling him to keep his hands off his girlfriend, and leaving the new guy, Zack, with the opinion that Autumn is equally as obnoxious.

Autumn is appalled but let's Daniel lead her away so as not to make anymore of a scene. When she spots Zack at lunch, he looks at her with utter contempt. He appears to hate her, but yet always seems to be around when she needs someone, like when her car breaks down.

This is totally my type of book. Zack is a wonderful character, who seems to constantly be the knight in shining armour even though its completely against his nature. He continues to help and look out for Autumn, even knowing it could get both of them killed. Autumn and Zack's relationship begins as one of mutual dislike, but when they get pushed together when his cousin starts dating Autumn's friend, things gradually begin to change between them. Zack knows what's coming for Autumn and he wants to be there to help her through it.

When Daniel goes from annoying ex-boyfriend to complete psycho, Zack is the only other person who knows the truth about him and can protect Autumn from him.

This book won't be for everyone. There are the cliches that I know some people don't like. These don't bother me or impact in any way on my enjoyment of the book. In fact, they may actually make me enjoy it more. This is actually quite a sweet little romance, and I think anyone who likes that will enjoy it.

So, while this book wasn't perfect, I'm not going to nit pick. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

I was ITCHING to read a mind-blowing, well-developed were story. And I thought this book might help scratch that annoying little itch. Much to my dismay, I was left completely unsatisfied by the end of this book.

It's not that the story was bad (because it wasn't), but it's that the story just wasn't GOOD. That probably made NO sense whatsoever, but let me explain.

This book was completely forgettable in every way. There was nothing unique or special or charming about the characters, dialogue, plot, and so forth and so on. There was NOTHING outstanding about this book at all. If anything, it was just another mediocre, recycled plot with differently named characters with ZERO chemistry.

And though the whole weres v. shifters explanation seemed intriguing, I felt cheated because I was under the impression that this was going to be a story focused solely on werewolves. Also, I might not have minded too much IF the whole hierarchy and "danger" aspect was explained in further detail, but it wasn't. And the whole sexual tension between Zack and Autumn kind of fizzled at around 5% into the story. So, yeah - it was practically non-existent all throughout. I felt more of a kind of sibling love between the two, and that is NEVER good.

All in all, I think I'm going to have to think twice about impulse one-click kindle book buys.

Autumn Rossi just wants a normal life, but her parents keep moving from town to town, so she never gets the chance to settle in. When Autumn arrives at The Verdugo Hills Academy, she's immediately taken in by the popular crowd. Her new boyfriend is the hottest guy in school and popular Gina welcomes her into her group giving her invitations to all the greatest parties. Finally, she feels like she belongs somewhere.

Soon, Autumn gets tired of Gina's bad attitude toward anyone else Autumn becomes friends with--especially Maya and John, whose company Autumn is beginning to prefer over Gina's. And, Autumn's boyfriend, Daniel, keeps pressuring her to sleep with him even though she's not ready.

When hot new guy at school, Zack de Luca, arrives at Verdugo Hills Academy, Autumn senses something different about him. She can feel when he's near even before she sees him. In addition to heightened awareness, she can suddenly outrun all kinds of critters in the forest and smell things from far away.

Something's definitely not normal in Autumn's life and when she breaks up with Daniel, everything sprials out of control. After an entire life living under her parents' tight rule, they now go out of state for days on end, leaving her all alone, and even give her money for a new car. Then, Autumn hears that Daniel's been attacked by a wolf and is missing. When Daniel shows up at school again, he's meaner than ever...and determined to get Autumn back! Whether she wants to or not.

For some reason, Zack steps in whenever Daniel confronts her at Zack's determined to keep Autumn safe. Soon, that becomes a full time job and with her parents out of town, he offers to stay with her just in case Daniel comes around. Autumn unwillingly starts to fall for Zack, but he makes it clear he doesn't want to be more than friends. But the more time they spend together, the less either one is able to resist theother and when Autumn befriends a wolf in the woods during her even super-runs...his eyes an mannerisms remind her so much of Zack...

This books has it all...a hot romance, the teen angst and drama of trying to fit in, the struggle for some kind of independence from her parents, and then when Autumn finds out she's not exactly human...she's got more than her fair share to deal with to protect her heart as well as her life. A fast-paced, intriguing start to the Shapes of Autumn series, My Wolf's Bane is an awesome read.

As expected, Veronica blade makes one mean novel!

When Zack moves to his aunt's house, he is the new kid at school. Its a hard process to go through for anyone. But, much to Autumn's annoyance, Zack instantly pins her down as a complete snob. Which, in her opinion, is so far off from the truth she could scream.

Autumn has her own problems to deal with, though. With her parents constantly breathing down her neck, she has no time to show them how responsible they have made her. They can't even leave her behind while on business trips, they pack up and move every time. Well, autumn is tired of it. She is officially eighteen and can do what she wants. And this time, she stays.

Oh, not to mention, she seems to have developed unexplainable super powers over night. Yeah, that could be an issue to be reckoned with. Oh well, one day at a time, right?

I love the tension between Autumn and Zack as they get to know each other. They constantly bicker, but then look out for each other. Its my perfect kind of romance!

Can NOT wait to read more in this series!

Whenever Veronica Blade comes out with a new book, I'm one of the first ones to start bugging her to let me read it, and since she's such an angel, she usually does! The reason I do this is because I have honestly loved everything she's written so far, but I will go so far as to say this is her best book yet!

Autumn is almost 18 years old, and has been to more schools than she can count. For some strange reason, whenever someone starts asking her parents seemingly innocent questions about the family, they pick up and move to a new town, although her parents always tell her it's because her dad got a new job as a consultant and they have to move. Autumn is really liking her latest school since she was befriended by the popular kids and is even dating Daniel, the most popular guy at the school. Unfortunately, all is not as great as it seems since Daniel is starting to treat her more like a possession than a girlfriend, and her first friend at the school, Gina, is becoming unbearably snobby, especially towards Autumn's other good friends, Maya and John. Enter Zack, the new guy at school, who is extremely hot, and who seems to take an instant dislike to Autumn, accusing her of being stuck up, snobby and judgmental, just like Daniel! She doesn't know how to tell him that she's been trying to get Daniel alone to break up with him without the whole school watching it happen. Even though he supposedly can't stand her, he's always showing up especially when she needs him, e.g. when her car won't start or her tire is starting to go flat, he's always staring at her, usually with contempt, like she's doing something to piss him off, and strangely enough, he keeps sniffing her, although he totally denies it when she catches him doing it!

It seems like the fact that Zack keeps misjudging Autumn would be annoying, but honestly I was enjoying the fact that there wasn't an ounce of instalove between them so much that I loved it - and I just knew that when they eventually got out of their own way and got together it would be SO much better because they are two really strong people, both physically and mentally, neither one willing to back down from what they feel is right. And was it ever!

Just before her 18th birthday Autumn begins noticing changes in herself - she's becoming stronger and faster, has the ability to heal at an alarming rate, and her senses of smell and hearing are acutely heightened. She spends time trying to find out where she's getting her "superpowers" from, checking the internet for anything like them. She can't talk to her over-protective parents about it, and she doesn't want to talk to anyone else who would basically call her crazy for even thinking that way, so she investigates by going into the woods near her house and running and jumping way faster and way farther than humanly possible, and basically having a great time, which was really fun to read about.

I just can't say enough how much I loved this book! Autumn and Zack had amazing chemistry that took its time building, which made you really root for them as a couple. And yes, Zack is definitely a hottie! I can't wait for the next book in this series, and yes, I'm already bugging Veronica, poor girl, for reading rights! :D

My Wolf’s Bane is one of the better books that I’ve read in a while. It was refreshing to have a book that was so much fun to read, and that was extremely well written. I’ve not read any books by Veronica so I really didn’t know what her style was like. But I had seen a few reviews of this books saying how great it was, so I was excited to get the chance to read it. And I was quickly able to see where all of the appeal came from.

The story itself isn’t completely unique. It involves quite a few common paranormal traits, but as several people have said before the way Veronica executes her story is pretty incredible. It is a perfect blend of all of the different aspects that make a good story. And it is so easy to get pulled in and attached to what you are reading. The romance in this book is outstanding, if you enjoy romance you will adore this book.

Zack and Autumn.. These two characters are pretty special. I love characters that can have a relationship that feels so real and exciting. And you really get to see that with these two. They have some hilarious moments, and they also have some incredibly sweet moments. Everything about their relationship is amazing in my opinion. I really couldn’t find anything wrong, I was instantly attached to them and it was so much fun seeing that bond grow between them.

If you enjoy a good paranormal book with a phenomenal romance, I would highly suggest picking up My Wolf’s Bane. I really wasn’t expecting the romance to be as good as it was, so I was literally blown away by this book and I am so glad I read it. I would love to see more of this story, I am sure there is a lot more that could be done with these characters especially with the way this book ended. So it will be interesting to see where things go for these two characters from here.

It's been a long while since I've read a Werewolf story. You remember when these supernatural creatures became all the rage, along with vampires and suddenly everyone and their dogs were writing about them. All the story-lines drifted along becoming very samey. The thrill of the story got lost and I refused to read any more.

So when Courtney from Crush Publishing contacted me, I admit, I was hesitant. The thing that really pulled me in was the first few lines of the Goodreads synopsis:

NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER: As with any Veronica Blade book, this is a ROMANCE NOVEL, meaning it's romance FIRST and everything else is secondary. Rated PG-13 for sexual situations and mild profanity.

Intriguing, I thought. The one thing that stories tend to lose is the personal element of the story. Most lose their way overcompensating with graphical descriptions while balancing a convoluted love story and don't quite pull it off leaving you either frustrated or nonchalant.

So, here's the thing. My Wolf's Bane took me less than a day to read. I literally couldn't it down. The story sucked me in from the first page and I just had to continue reading, and reading, and reading. Once I reached the final few pages I had that wonderful satisfied feeling you get when you finish a great book and enjoyed it.

So the questions that followed (and there weren't many) were:-
a) Why was this any different to what I'd read before?
b) What made the story interesting enough?
c) Was there anything new and original I learned that prompted me to keep going?

Well, the answers are simple. No, The characters, and No. But surprisingly I wasn't bothered by that.

Here's the thing. The story is a school story. You know the ones where you meet all the characters, some are bitchy, some are stereotypical, there's always the nerds and dweebs vs the cool jocks/cheerleaders (although there were no jocks or cheerleaders in this one).

What interested me was, going against stereotype, the main protag isn't allowed all comforts under the sun, isn't rich, isn't given much freedom, and is basically coddled by doting parents who won't leave her alone. Some of her friends are good with this, some shun her because of this.

Anything new in the story line, anything original? Well, not really but when you're reading the story you realise that that isn't the point. The story is about a relationship, and coming of age, of love, and romance, and someone denying and suppressing their own feelings to such extreme's because they want to protect you. Pretty heavy, strong emotions ripple through this book and everyone somewhere can relate to at least one aspect that happens here.

So, lets go back to the beginning. I loved Autumn. I thought she started out as a shy girl, afraid of her exuberant best friend, worried about splitting up with her boyfriend even though he's a jerk, and allowing her parents to walk all over her.
Then she slammed into Zack (literally) and everything started to change. That and her 18th birthday is coming up, and she begins to feel different. More energized, slightly warmer, a little bit more impatient.
She's going through changes that she doesn't understand. But for some unknown reason Zack keeps getting thrown in her direction. Now she finally gets rid of the sleazeball boyfriend and has to suffer the shame afterwards of finding him with her exuberant best friend making out, AND they were at it before she dumped him.

But, and this is what held my interest, Zack doesn't seem that into Autumn. He's rude, obnoxious, a little bit callous. But on the other hand he seems to always turn up at the right time, he helps her with her car situation, and fills her flat tyre then invites her round to his Aunts house for dinner.

So then the ex boyfriend decides he's sorry and will stop at nothing to try and get Autumn back in his life because he LOVES her. Yeah, right! Yay for Zack though, he really does go out of his way to protect Autumn. I know what they are but it really was like watching two rutting reindeer. I kept wanting to shout Fight! Fight! Fight! But I braced myself and continued reading.

Curiously, there were tell tale signs along the way implying the hidden story that wasn't being told, easy to pick up on but it was honestly so much fun riding out the story, waiting to reach the confession page because the angst, anger and guilt had reached such a high with our two main characters that I thought they would spontaneously combust.

Yes, at the end there are questions that have no answers to them. Not everything is revealed in the final pages but I can wait for the next book for that!

Suffice to say that the author was dead-on with the synopsis. This is a romance book first, and its good. Really good. Bittersweet and tender in all the right places. Heartwarming at other times. It really did have you hating the right people and severely wanting to maim others (like Gina! Boy, I want to sock her in the face!)

Apparently this is the first in the series which I'm mighty glad about and I absolutely will be reading the next one.

Check it out now if you love Maggie Stiefvater, Twilight and basically anything werewolfish! Go Zack!

Young adult paranormal. I'm one to enjoy a good shapeshifter story, and this had some attributes that appealed to me. But it was a bit too much on the teen drama part. I also, like many other reviewers, did not understand the behavior of the heroine's parents.

My Wolf's Bane is the first book in the Shapes of Autumn series.

When I received the request to review the book, I wasn't that interested. Oh well, because there's this note from the publisher :

it's romance FIRST and everything else is secondary. . . .

After Twilight, I can no longer appreciate the same storyline. If it's Bella and Edward in disguise, I'd certainly stop reading. The first 2-3 chapters it is definitely Twilight-y. There were a couple of Edward's and Bella's cheesy lines and OMG, even Autumn's truck reminds me of Bella's so it was like I was just giving it a chance and ready to stop anytime. It was rather a complete surprise to actually find myself glued to the pages of the book probably past the first quarter of the story. It was when the wolf myth was introduced, I completely forgot the whole I-Hate-Twilight issue. I got so SOOO fascinated with it and I started loving Autumn and Zack by then.

Hmm - actually it wasn't really 'romance FIRST'. The thing is, Autumn just had to deal with her psycho ex-boyfriend and in order to save Autumn, Zack had to pose as her new boyfriend. But really, I was more interested in the wolf-ish stuff, discovering the mystery of Autumn's identity and Zack's past. As for Zack's character, I thought he was intellectual for someone his age. He can analyze complicated and deadly situations while maintaining his coolness. I like men like that.

I actually couldn't get over Autumn and Zack so I'm re-reading the book. Oh I just found out that the author wrote some extras about My Wolf's Bane - in Zack's POV! Sweeet! I know, like that of Midnight Sun, but this time, I don't care! SCENE EXTRAS - LONE WOLF. Right now, it feels like I finally found a new book series to follow since Vampire Academy ended in 2010. Yep - excited much! I can't wait to read book #2!

Veronica Blade never fails to make me wish that one of her books is what my high school experience would have been like. (All the paranormal/supernatural stuff would have just been a bonus). Full of temptation, inspiration, and family, My Wolf’s Bane did not disappoint.

I read this book in a day. Up late at night, clinging to my Kindle until my eyes started to blur, and I finally had to give up on Autumn and Zack’s sexual tension/supernatural occurrences. Then I woke up and instantly began reading again. (I think that’s called addicted).

I loved reading about Autumn learning to control her abilities. (I’m really excited to see what happens with her parents in the next book)! Also, any scene with her and Zack stole the show. (Daniel is creepy to the max).

Yes, there is almost nothing that I love more than a bad boy. Except maybe a good guy with tough guy tendencies. A man with manners and class, but not too soft that he just sits back and takes everyone’s bullshit. A guy who stands up for his woman.

Enter Zack de Luca. Sweet, reserved Zack is honestly every guy I ever had a crush on in high school. (Except the werewolf part, of course). The relationship between him and his mom seriously broke my heart.

So yeah, another great supernatural read from Mrs. Blade! Excited for the next in this series!

I have to say I have LOVED each and every book by Ms. Blade so my expectations are high with her work. My Wolf's Bane did not disappoint. It was off the charts awesome. I find I am thinking of this story days later and smiling. I like that Zac and Autumn don't get off to a great start and actually don't like each other. Zac assumes Autumn is a snob. Zac is a hottie and turns out to be a keeper. But will Autumn be able to keep him? Will she be able to loose her insane/crazy ex boyfriend? I was laughing every time Zac sniffs Autumn. It seemed he was doing that any chance he got. Autumn totally calls him on it. Autumn's parents are a bit different very obsessed with protecting and then they pull a 180. I can't wait to find out why and if they are human. I was fascinated with the process that Autumn goes through and how she figures out what she is. I was engrossed in the bond that Zac and Autumn seem to share and yet they shouldn't. One of the scenes I really loved were the times Autumn would talk to the Black wolf at night. I sure hope Ms. Blade is working on book two because I am chopping at the bit to read it. I would highly recommend this read!!! It is an awesome Romance!!!

Just FYI~ This book does contain swearing and reference to sexual situations.

So I'm 1/3 through right now and the fact that I'm even taking the time away from it to write this is very impressive! I'm freaking loving it!!!!

The characters totally draw you into their world and so far it hasn't been slow or boring for a minute (which I love because if a book doesn't get into the action pretty quickly I have a hard time making myself continue reading until I get to the meat of it.)

I'm mid reading Hunger games too and I've chosen starting and finishing this first hands down!

More to come once I'm done!

*********

Ok! I've finished now, WOW! I absolutely loved this book! As it says most of the story revolves around the romance which keeps you flipping pages but there is also other plot going on and suspense that also keeps you very interested.

I love the characters and want more of them! The ending is wrapped up enough that you don't feel like killing yourself until the next one comes out but at the same time you REALLY want the next one!!!!

Overall AMAZING and if this is your genre you won't be disappointed!

AWESOME BOOK! Had me reading into the wee hours of the morning to finish this one! I loved how the relationship developed between the two main characters and their chemistry and connection made you not want to put it down! I found that the story was intriguing and left you with just the right amount of unanswered questions to make you want to read the next in the series without leaving you hanging with a feeling of being unsatisfied. (It had a VERY satisfying ending!) YUM! This was a great story with characters I really loved and was connected to throughout the whole thing. Can't wait for the next one!! I stayed up well after midnight last night just to finish this book. This is another home-run for Veronica Blade! I loved Autumn and Zack and the push and pull of their relationship. I have my theories about different things going on in this story regarding Autumn's parents, Zack's father, and the legends of the werewolves and shape shifters and I can't wait for the next book to see if I am right. Daniel made a great villain and I am sure we haven't seen the last of him. Trevor and Maya were adorable and I am a little curious about John and worried about Zack's mom. As far as Gina is concerned...don't even get me started! Bottom line, I loved the book! It was a fantastic read and I can't wait to get my hands on book two!!

You know that feeling of disappointment when you’ve finished reading a really exceptional book? That’s what happened to me with My Wolf’s Bane. I read this book in about 2 1/2 days, and that says a lot since I am a slow reader and usually read 2-3 books simultaneously. Within the YA paranormal romance genre, this book excels. For me (and for many other Goodreads reviewers) it’s one of the best, and I’ll tell you why.

Loved loved loved this sexy, sweet and complex paranormal romance!! It was recommended to me and I am so glad I read it! Although now I'm craving more and don't know if I can stand waiting for the next one. :) I loved how their relationship evolved and the interesting paranormal twists it takes. It's definitely more about their relationship but the paranormal element was very interesting as well and will leave you with questions that you have to read the next book to find out. Which is why I need to read it!!!! NOW!!! I definitely recommend this! :)

Such a great book! I am totally going to have to find the next one in the series. This was an amazing read of a coming of "age" story of a shifter that falls in love with a werewolf. AWESOME. Leaves you totally hanging and wanting more more more! Caught me from page one and carried me breathlessly to the end. Can't wait to continue reading the series (when I find them!)

This book was won from Goodreads First Reads giveaway

Oh. My. Goodness!!! Why do I have to wait until the SUMMER to read more!!!! I can't get enough of Zack and Autumn! I wish I could jump into the pages and never leave. I would beat the crap out of Daniel, then I would slap some sense into Gina before she does something stupid... Well, MORE stupid. I'll be the behind-the-scenes girl that makes everything happen perfectly for Autumn and Zack. Ugh! I don't know how I will survive the next few months D:

This was my favorite book by far this year! Loved it! The characters and their relationships were real and believable. And the story line wasn't predictable, like most books. I found myself not knowing what was going to happen to them or where the story was going to go, which was very refreshing. As soon as I finished it, I wanted to read the next one! This is definitely a series you'll get hooked on!

loved it!! the author kept me engaged the whole time. I loved the characters and the story line kept me gripped and about exploding with theories lol im sure i know who Autumn's parents are but im gonna have to wait till the next one :(, im gonna have to look at more from this author as seriously i could not fault this story. It had it all, shifters, werewolves, overprotective men, gorgeous men , a spunky female lead and a great story that makes you want more. As i said loved it!!

So one word that pops into my mind about this book is fan-freaking-tanstic. It has everything that I love about paranormal romance and YA wrapped up into one. I am not one that does spoilers in a review but this is a must read in you like this genre. This sweet romance had me staying up all night to read.

A friend recently recommended this book and I finished it in a weekend! I loved the chemistry between the main characters and how their relationship didn't start out the same as every other book. Liked the paranormal aspect of the book a lot and am really looking forward to finding out what happens with these two in the next one. I don't know how it'll work out but I'm really rooting for them!

I won this book on a Goodreads Giveaway and I have got to say that it was an excellent read. I really loved it, I cannot wait for the next one. Sometimes Autumn and Zach would drive me crazy, I just wanted them to get along! I would suggest this to anyone who adores paranormal romances and YA novels. It was a cute story although I did wish the action parts were more detailed.

Wow! I was really surprise with this one. I'd never heard of this author but I saw the book trailer on a blog and was intrigued. I'm SO glad I gave it a chance because it rocked!

If the series stays this good it will easily pass Twilight in my book :)

I'm looking forward to the next one!
