Being dumped just before the holidays was my worst nightmare. I’d spent so many years thinking Preston Wright was the one for me that when he told me it was over, I thought I’d rather die than face the future.

I never expected someone like Judd Kohler to come crashing into my life. Literally. He was coming out. I was going in. My face got in the way. You get the picture. It was an accident. Running into him twice in one day, though? It started to feel like fate.

My mother always says Christmas is a magical time of year. A season for hope. All I know is that just when I thought I’d lost mine, hope somehow found its way back to me.

Just in time for Christmas.

CHEATER:

"I don’t mention the fact that they were still together when I started sleeping with him behind Leigh Anne’s back."

"I was immature and jealous of everything Leigh Anne did."

"Then Leigh Anne walked in on us in the pool-house one day and all the fun died. Preston wanted nothing to do with me for a long time."

I couldn't empathize with Bailey because she betrayed the friendship with Leigh Anne (heroine of the first book in the series) to cheat with Preston.
She and Preston are cheaters scumbags.
Their relationship could not work because started completely wrong.
She lost her friend and still get kicked to the curb by Preston almost 3 years later.
It wasn't worth it.
She even had luck to find a nice guy (AKA hero) who fell in love with her without that she had to become someone else to please him and his rich friends.
I just read this book because it contains information about the other characters in the series.

Sizzling Pages First Day of Sizzling Christmas Reads. Beginning 12/14/13 (~Steph's PICK for post 12/15/13~)

"I think it's time we both moved on, Bailey.  The past three years have been amazing, but I feel like I'm changing.  I want different things than I wanted a few years ago."

That's what Preston, Bailey's boyfriend for three years tells her the day before Thanksgiving.  Bailey is heart broken - skipping classes and missing work.  Luckily though she has an awesome best friend, Monica, as her roommate.

"Breaking up sucks balls.  I get it.  But there's more to life than Preston fucking Wright."  Monica

I really think Bailey knew that at the time, she's was stronger than she thought herself to be - and when she thought about the relationship she had with Preston, I think deep down she knew she was better off without him.  She decides to pick herself up and leave her apartment - her best decision ever!

"It's time, you did a good 'Bella Swan in the woods after Edward left' impression, now it's time to rejoin the land of the living and prove to him he made a huge mistake."  Monica

Going to work she literally runs into med student, Judd Kohler.... twice in one day - fate? karma?

See - good decision - and from there her life gets interesting and scary all at the same time.  Her feelings for Judd develop quickly, but it scares her - and she's unsure of herself.  This isn't a fling for Judd and he knows about her past relationship.

"I just didn't want you to wake up in the morning and feel like you'd made a huge mistake.  If I ever take you to my bed, I want it to be because you really want to be there.  And I don't want you to have any reason to regret it"  Judd

Really??? - Judd is proving himself to be awesome boyfriend material.

"It's amazing how fast someone can enter your life and start to change everything.  Amazing and terrifying all at once."  Bailey

I really enjoyed this book a lot.  I sometimes have a hard time getting into novella's because they are short and things seemed rushed - but not this story - I felt like I got a lot of history and the story actually moved at a pace that seemed believable.  I loved Judd and Bailey's story - it just shows that when you least expect something - sometimes that's when the very best things can happen.

Ok, maybe I was hoping that Bailey and Preston end up together since the whole cheating thing from the first book ( I hated them for that), but boy is Judd sooooo much better for her. Even thought she was facing the biggest heartbreak of her life, something positive came out of it when she least expected it.

I bought most of the NA's that were part of this set (the 12 NA's of Christmas) to try out some new authors. Sometimes this time of year it is nice to be able to dive in a story without it taking a long time to finish. This particular story was a fairly typical New Adult romance which is great for those looking for a standard but quick NA. It's not so great for those that are tired of the norm in New Adult books (which is closer to where I fall).

First of all I will say that the hero, Judd, was great. He was a grounded, positive, great guy. He was the light in this book and the reason I finished. I didn't like the heroine though. She was extraordinarily dramatic about everything. This is pretty typical for a NA book but one thing I don't particularly care for myself. The heroine cried constantly throughout the book and didn't come across as strong in any way. I had a hard time connecting with her or most of her decisions. The girl is queen of bad decision making.

Since it is in the description I don't consider it a spoiler to say that she has just been broken up at the start of the novel. She gets really depressed to a level I couldn't relate. Then I was uncomfortable that it took another boy to bring her back to life. That is an idea I am uncomfortable with. Maybe if the author had taken the time to have her come out of her funk on her own but I don't like dramatic changes because of a love interest. I have a hard time buying it.

I do think that there is a big audience for this book. If you like the typical New Adult formulas that are out there you will probably like this one.

I downloaded this because I really liked "The Trouble With Goodbye". I wasn't sure I'd like Bailey, considering her and Preston slept together behind Leigh Anne's back in high school. Well, I did end up liking Bailey, Preston not so much (Preston's getting a book next and he's really going to have to redeem himself from all his douchebaggery).

I couldn't help but feel sorry for Bailey, Preston certainly didn't treat her very well when they were dating. She tried so hard to be what she thought everyone expected, and just had to learn the hard way that people needed to like her for herself. I thought the way she reacted to the breakup and the way she was so unsure of things with Judd were very realistic.

I loved the way Bailey and Judd meet, so funny! They start dating and things develop rather quickly (I guess in a novella it's to be expected), but they had excellent chemistry. Judd was just a sweet, sweet guy, I loved him immediately.

The ending did seem a little rushed, I wish it had been longer. I hope we get to see more of them in the next Fairhope book.

I thought the book was amazing. I could really relate and connect to Bailey, who hasn't been through a bad break-up and thought their life was over? If only we all could meet a man like Judd!! I highly recommend people to read this book. Another amazing book from Sarra Cannon.

Ugh Bailey just pissed me off the entire time. I couldn't deal with her stupid mood swings and dumb reasons and creating fights.

Loved this book

I choose 5 stars because it's very well written and the way you describe almost every detail about the making love scenes makes it seem like you the reader is actually making love to the man in the scene. I like how all of the Fairhope series is all connected with the characters from the first 2 books. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes or loves romance stories.

A Season For Hope

A Season For Hope is a beautiful story set in Christmas. A great love story about a girl who is so confused about herself that she doesn't know who she really is. Enjoy the ride, because I sure did!

The holiday season is hard enough but imagine if you'd just been dumped by your long-term boyfriend. Bailey is confused and emotional but then she meets Judd. He is definitely my favorite male character so far. Loved this next installment in the Fairhope series.

A couple of years ago , 11 authors - it was supposed to be 12 got together and created a collection of New Adult stories for Christmas . The Collection was called "The 12 NA's of Christmas". One of the books in the collection was Sarra Cannon's A Season of Hope. In this book we meet Bailey who has what she believes is the perfect life with a handsome and rich boyfriend Preston , but lately things haven't been going well for them and she can sense he is pulling away and Bailey ends up being dumped by Preston and if that wasn't bad enough, it's just before the holiday season. This puts Bailey down a spiralling hole as she doesn't know who she is without Preston and as she starts to rebuild her new life, we discover that in order to be with Preston, she changed her self - the way she talked, dressed and what she did and didn't do, she was a whole different person around him. On one of her first days back to reality, she crashes into Judd - a med student on their campus. As the pair get talking, Judd asks Bailey out and she reluctantly agrees and the pair get close - however there is still a wall up and that is called "comparing to Preston". Can Bailey let Judd into her heart or is she still letting Preston rule her life ? What will happen though when the pair start walking on shaky ground and Preston swoops in ? Will this be the final straw for Judd , will he choose to walk away with a "he can't compete" attitude ? Or will this be the turning point that Bailey realises that she is in love with Judd and he is to be her "happily ever after" ?

3 out of 5 Stars

Bailey used to be who all the other girls envied - that was until her hot and wealthy boyfriend of three years, Preston Wright, dumped her. But maybe she just doesn't deserve love, given that she was the one to make out with Preston, behind his former girlfriend's back. Perhaps it's just payback? And all the heartache she's feeling and the post break-up blues are too?

That's until she literally bumps into Judd Kohler, who is incredibly perfect, and who was watching her from afar... But will she be able to connect to someone new so soon after the breakup, and will she ever stop comparing him to Preston?

Well, what I liked about this story was definitely the guy chasing after girl part. Judd is definitely a perfect book boyfriend and he and Bailey just go super well together. The story however is actually a short story and there is not much to expect from it. It is a short and uncomplicated read with a predictable happy ending. I don't think it will contribute much to the rest of the Fairhope Series (and I was actually disappointed not to hear more about Mason and Penny from Fairhope #2), but that doesn't make it a bad read.

It's short and sweet. I liked the story but it's not mindblowing suspense either. Yet I wonder what will happen to Preston now that he broke up with Bailey - any chance for a new Fairhope book around his story? I'll stay tuned!

This is another cute novella that I think will appeal to the younger of the new adult fans.

Bailey is a college girl who is struggling after her boyfriend breaks up with her. Everything revolved around him from what she wore, who she hung out with, what she did and what she said. She doesn't know who she is without him and how to move on.

When she literally bumps into Judd, a hunky med student, it looks like her luck might be changing. He is almost too good to be true. He is caring, attentive, kind and doesn't seem to want her change who she is for him. Soon begins Bailey's internal battle. Does she want to open her heart and risk getting it broken again. What does he expect of her and is she the type of person he really wants? Will his friends like her?

What I liked about this novella is that Bailey's struggles are ones that millions of young woman deal with and they are totaly relatable. It is a story about figuring out who you are and being yourself. There is a strong message hidden within the words that you can be loved for who you are and you should never change to be who you think someone wants you to be.

I'm a sucker for any story that takes place during the holiday season so this book was a perfect little Christmas read!

From the author: Being dumped just before the holidays was my worst nightmare. I'd spent so many years thinking Preston Wright was the one for me that when he told me it was over, I thought I'd rather die than face the future.

From me: I'm a soppy cow. What a sweet story of a character that frankly, I did not even like in the first two books. Why? I really did not know her like I thought I did and this book made me realize the err of my ways. And Judd well he is way beyond Swoon worthy, far beyond it. Nice guys can finish first!! In the end, I had a much great appreciation of Preston than I did in the first two books. Thank you Sara Cannon for giving me something I did not even know I wanted and needed. I'm not a Christmas person but this story but it make the perfect backdrop for Judd and Bailey's story.

Bayley diputuskan pacarnya selama 3 tahun sebelum liburan natal.

A Season of Hope is a book full of real, raw emotion. Inside the pages you will follow a woman who, for years, has played the part of the perfect girlfriend. When she is dumped she realizes that she has lost herself over the years and when true, real love runs into her, she has trouble accepting that something so pure can be so real.

I have to admit that book 2.5 is my favorite, so far, in the Fairhope Series. All the books have been amazing so far, but I so related to Bailey. I thought I related well to Penny in book 2, but Bailey embodied my feelings and actions of my ex in her relationship with Preston.

It was quite amazing how I could see my past unfold in the pages of this book. Bailey's favorite author is my favorite author, her feelings of not belonging are my feelings, her irrationality and reactions to things are mine.

Pick up this book, read this series, I don't think you would regret doing so.

I love Sarra's writing. She has a way of pulling you into the story and making you really connect with the characters. With each book that she writes I keep saying that it's my favorite, but I think that just shows how far she has come as an author. Even though A Season for Hope was a novella, it was still very detailed and I got to know the characters very well. I cared about Bailey and could feel her pain, uncertaintity and her love for Judd. Sarra made me feel like I was there experiencing everything with her. Judd was a sweet guy and the ending was great. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Oh Bailey and Judd .... I loved this book start to finish. One thing I've come to realize about the people of FairHope, when they fall in love they fall quick and they fall hard. And I have to admit, I kinda like that ... Bailey and Judd especially, their relationship reminds me a lot of my own - so open and honest from the start. I once again found myself smiling like a giddy school girl and at some parts tearing up. Sarah Cannon is quickly becoming my favorite author!!!!

While the writing in this one is just as good as the first two, I originally thought I'd only give it maybe 3 stars because of subject matter...I had a hard time feeling bad for Bailey because of how she got together with Preston in the first place. I'm so glad I stuck with it and learned her story.

Am I the only reader of this series not enjoying this? Because I find myself losing interest reading after reading; every book is faker than the previous one and specifically in this 2.5 I found Bailey annoying.
I'm going to start The Fear of Letting Go but my expectations are low right now.
