˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ Kara jabbed a finger at him. “Just shut-up, alright? I don’t have time for you.”
A long, shocked pause. “You can’t speak to me that way.” The stranger finally sputtered.
“No one speaks to me that way. No one speaks to me, at all.”
“Gee, I wonder why?”
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ “So far, he’d drugged Kara, allowed dragons and Vampires to menace her, he’d kidnapped her, and forgotten to feed her, he’d locked her in his home and made her cry.”
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ “King Slade!” Fibos cried. “Oh, it’s a miracle to see you alive! You have risen like a phoenix to bless us with your majestic light.”
“We are all fortunate I’m here.” Slade agreed, modestly. “I am… Hey!” He broke off with a yelp as Kara sized his arm. “Witch, what do you mean by…”
Kara cut him off. “Shut up and say you’re going to kill me.”
He blinked. “What?”
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ “Unless she got Mel and Slade back together in the next twenty-four hours, the human race would be enslaved forever and Kara would never see a television set again. No, no, no, no, no.”
final thoughts
two stars, it was a fun read but i would never reread it. maybe if you’re a fan of vampire books you’ll enjoy this and the satirical charm of it all!
“I’m not human.” He rumbled.
“I know.” He was a sorcerer. For once it didn’t seem ridiculous.
“My ancestors were both man and Vampire.”
“Uh-huh. Mine were Irish.”
