Georgiana Darcy's Diary:

Mr. Darcy's younger sister searches for her own happily-ever-after...

The year is 1814, and it's springtime at Pemberley. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy have married. But now a new romance is in the air, along with high fashion, elegant manners, scandal, deception, and the wonderful hope of a true and lasting love.

Shy Georgiana Darcy has been content to remain unmarried, living with her brother and his new bride. But Elizabeth and Darcy's fairy-tale love reminds Georgiana daily that she has found no true love of her own. And perhaps never will, for she is convinced the one man she secretly cares for will never love her in return. Georgiana's domineering aunt, Lady Catherine de Bourgh, has determined that Georgiana shall marry, and has a list of eligible bachelors in mind. But which of the suitors are sincere, and which are merely interested in Georgiana's fortune? Georgiana must learn to trust her heart--and rely on her courage, for she also faces the return of the man who could ruin her reputation and spoil a happy ending, just when it finally lies within her grasp.

Pemberley to Waterloo:

Can their love withstand the trials of war?

Georgiana Darcy and Edward Fitzwilliam want only to be together. But when the former Emperor Napoleon escapes from his exile on the Isle of Elba, Britain is plunged into renewed war with France ... and Edward is once more called away to fight.

To be with the man she loves, Georgiana makes the perilous journey to Brussels, in time to witness the historic downfall of Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo. But when Edward is gravely injured in the battle, she will need more courage than she ever knew she had to fight for their future together.

This was a very good read. The first half is about Christmas at Pemberley with a lot of unexpected guests like Caroline Bingley and Edward older brother. Elizabeth is very pregnant but manages to participate in the three parties being given for the neighbours and their tenants. The second half has Edward off with the Duke of Wellington for some diplomacy work, only to be called back to Brussels to fight Napoleon. Georgina travels there with Kitty and Helen (Mrs. Forster) and they take a house together. When injured soldiers arrive, they open the house to them and nurse them as best they can.

A nice fan fiction depiction of Georgiana Darcy. The characters felt Austen-true and the diary method made it more interesting than simply narrating a story. I loved how the character of Georgiana develops confidence and a voice and stands up to her aunt De Burgh and helps free Anne De Burgh. Elizabeth feels like Elizabeth and Darcy though not much in the story feels like Darcy. Overall, a good read if you like Austen fanfiction and sequels.

This sequel to Georgiana Darcy's Diary was disappointing to me. A large part of it was tied up with the Napoleonic war. Jane Austen would not have written about that subject or subjected her heroines to the horrible scenes that occured in this book. I don't believe I will read anymore of this series.
