This volume made some nice improvements, especially in regards to our ML, Ranmaru. We get to see a sweeter, softer side to him, and his man-whore ways are less in our faces, which is something I appreciate (I'm just not a fan of a ML who sleeps around constantly, and we, as the readers, are supposed to like that). I also like seeing the banter and development between Momoko and Ranmaru, they can be pretty funny sometimes. That being said, I'm still not sold on the way the romance is portrayed. Ranmaru is extremely pushy and grabby, and it makes it feel like Momoko is just some conquest to him, instead of someone he's seriously interested in. I also don't buy that Momoko wouldn't punch him in the face every time he tries something. It doesn't help that most of the romantic scenes are a little too cliche, you see the same exact scenarios in every Shoujo, and considering how interesting and different the plot setup for this series is, you'd figure the romance would feel fresh and fun as well.
Is this series perfect? No. Do I thoroughly enjoy it? YES! My smutty soul really enjoys this story! This second volume sold me on the series as a whole. I'm invested now.
