This is the second Christmas romance anthology from Books to Go Now that I have read this month. I loved the first one,Christmas Romance, and this the second one didn’t disappoint. Four talented romance authors, four sweet stories that will warm your heart this holiday season. And just like in the first one, there are dogs in this one, too!

In “Red Soles at Night Christmas Delight,” by Cary Morgan Frates, Audrey Wells is out of her wits when a dog jumps on to the deck of her boat and in the process throws her super expensive Louboutin shoes into the lake. The dog’s handsome owner has no choice but to dive into the freezing cold water to rescue them. Of course, Audrey ends up making sure he doesn’t get pneumonia. In a turn of fate, they end up spending Christmas Day together. A humorous and sexy story.

In “Yuletide Bride,” by Danielle Lee Zwissler, reporter Mary Simms is out on a mission. She wants to prove that the town’s Magic of Christmas Festival, where perfect couples are “matched” for life, is a sham. Will she have the courage to uncover the truth and destroy people’s belief in the tradition, even if it means destroying the happiness of some of the old couples involved? And what about James, the handsome lawyer who asks her not to go ahead with her story, and for whom she’s developing some serious feelings? Will Mary learn to have faith? An original, delightful story with a touch of mystery.

In “Christmas Gift that Keeps Wagging,” by Jennifer Conner, we meet Julian Barrows, a single dad with a kindergarten son who suffers from seizures; and Hannah, the beautiful trainer who specializes in seizure-detecting dogs. Their paths touch when Julian tries to get her dog for his son. The problem is, it’s incredibly expensive. Fate has other plans, and the magic of Christmas works its way into their lives…A heart-warming story with an ending that will pull at your heart strings.

The last story is “One Horse Open Sleigh Race,” by Karen Hall, where we’re transported to 1819 London, and where, after a most unexpected encounter, a wealthy earl and the feisty twin of the new clergyman find true love thanks to a Christmas sleigh race and an adorable “match-making” Scottie. Lovers of historical romance will relish this one.

This anthology has a tantalizing, charming cover. That’s the first thing that pulled me to the book, and it adequately illustrates the inside content. The four stories in this anthology are all about strong yet vulnerable heroines and sensitive, yet forceful heroes; about the spirit of the Christmas season and the magical effect it can sometimes have on people; about the hope and faith for true love and the attainment of that love.

Through the authors’ imaginations, I was transported to different places and times, relishing the characters’ fictional worlds and predicaments. I also love how the authors incorporate humor into their stories, and how the dogs play their important roles. Christmas Is in the Air is an upbeat, thoroughly enjoyable read, and one I’m sure readers of sweet romance stories will enjoy.

These were not related whatsoever not even by years as two are placed around current times and the other is based upon around the 1800s era. Very different but all stories are original and what the characters challenges they are facing.

Got this as a Kindle freebie, and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

The first story, RED SOLES AT NIGHT, CHRISTMAS DELIGHT, by Cary Morgan Frates, I expected to be silly. After all, it's a book about shoes, right? But I enjoyed it. Normally I don't like romances that don't end with a HEA, but in this case, I felt it fit the story. Since it was a short story, it would have felt rushed to have forever commitment. The author left it at the beginning of a promising relationship, and I liked it that way.

The second story, YULETIDE BRIDE by Danielle Lee Zwissler was the only DNF in the collection. While I liked the premise of a couple marrying on Christmas Eve and staying together forever, the whole lottery aspect of it was a little too far-fetched for me. People would just put their names into a jar and marry whomever gets picked for them? Really? (As in, you put your name in as a bride, and you don't know who your groom will be if your name comes up, but you marry him and live happily ever after. A little too unrealistic for me.)

The third story, CHRISTMAS GIFT THAT KEEPS ON WAGGING, by Jennifer Conner was a sweet story about a single dad with a special needs son, and the woman who comes to help them and ends up falling in love. A little rushed because of the page restriction, but a nice little piece of brain candy. (Some bad typos in this one, though, like that the heroine extends her hand for the hero to "shark". Ummm...I think you mean "shake"!)

The fourth story, ONE HORSE OPEN SLEIGH RACE by Karen Hall, was the only historical of the lot (Regency), and may favorite of the book. The hero is a lord (of course!), and the heroine is the sister of his new vicar. She is (of course) an unconventional, outspoken women, and the hero is all but engaged to a much more suitable lady. No big surprise what happens here, but still a fun read. I'd be interested to try this author again.

This really is one of those Christmas romance books that you pick up year after year and read and just... smile. All of the stories are sweet, romantic and at times, laugh out loud funny.

Red Soles at Night- Awesome story-- those damned effing, Louboutins...lol This story was very cute and I was hoping for a continuation of the story. Hopefully, we will get part two next season?

Yuletide Bride: I love this one.. for many reasons ;)

Christmas Gift- This book was so sweet that it made me cry several times.. I can relate a lot to Julian's situation, and Gabe... he was just... Well, I loved him very much:)

One Horse- This story was fantastic! I loved the twin sister, she was right up my alley... so many things about this story were laugh out loud hilarious, and the whole romance of it all-- swoon. :)

This collection was fantastic, and if for some reason, you were on the fence about reading it... don't hesitate, buy it.

I usually adore holiday anthologies. Sadly, not this time. Most of these were just meh, but last one was okay which brought my rating up a notch.
