After dumping her rich, lying louse of a fiancé, designer Kelly Chase opts to take her honeymoon solo. What better chance to nurse her wounds in solitude than two weeks of pre-paid beachfront bliss on the breathtaking Mediterranean island of Sarcaccia? Yet when she meets gorgeous local beach bum Massimo, solitude is suddenly less important than enjoying the company of an honest man … a man whose eyes reveal a private anguish.
Fresh from brutal combat, seeking privacy and a chance to heal, Prince Massimo Barrali is intrigued by the gorgeous American who fails to recognize him and treats him as an equal. He offers her dinner, but dinner quickly turns into a night of intense passion…until the police come knocking on the door of Kelly’s rented villa.
Kelly’s horror at the discovery her fiancé stole her honeymoon fund turns to humiliation when Massimo arrives to post her bail. Once again, she’s been deceived by a man who isn’t what he appears. But when Prince Massimo offers her a job at the royal palace and a chance to pay her debts, she can’t refuse. She hates that she’s forced to work with him, hates the desire that still burns between them, but how can she forget the secret torment she saw in him or their sensuous night under the stars?

I have thousands of books on my real (as opposed to my Goodreads) bookshelves. However, my Goodreads library only contains those books I'd give four or five stars and would recommend to friends without hesitation (and I haven't gotten around to listing all those yet.)
Since when do I like stories about a prince falling in love with a common girl? God, am I reducing to teenage years?? F*ck it, who doesn't like a hot prince.
This is the story of Kelly Chase a 27 years old girl from Dallas. Kelly is a closet designer and organizer. She had her own business and sold it months ago pushed by her fiance, a rich asshole who played her and didn't love her. She used that money to book a honeymoon in Sarcaccia and pay the first part of the rent of their kondo. After breaking her engagement with him she decided to enjoy the honeymoon vacation alone and find perspectives.
When she was on the beach the first day a lost dog met her...never would have she imagined who was the owner of it.
Prince Massimo Barrali is 28 years old, he was in military duties for 5 years and just came home. Wounded and with PTS episodes he was having a difficult time in the first weeks of his life in the palace. Fishing was an activity who seemed to calm him and also his dog Gasparre.
Is thanks to Gasparre that Kelly and Massimo will meet. Their chemistry is off the charts and a dinner together turns in wild night of passion. Only the next morning to be wakeup and being faced with some truth about each other. I don't want to spoil much, but their meeting and all the first part was amazing!
I loved the first part so much, I think it was really awesome and so hot, but I didn't like very much the second part, was boring and instead of developing the story of the H&h was full of description about places and activities of them separately. And the last part when they confessed their feelings felt rushed and everything escalated very quick. And what was the mystery with the necklace?? Why didn't we get closure about that story?
But I loved the happy ending scene, the closet scene was very cute. I think if the writer would have cut short all those descriptions and activities in the middle, some of them so irrelevant and dedicated that space to H/h together would have been the best.
I loved the characters very much, Massimo and Kelly were both lovely. In some moments I wanted to strangle him but he rectified those mistakes fast.
This was book 2 of the Barrali royal siblings and in the book we had glimpses also of Prince Stefano and Megan from book 1 but shortly. I would have loved more.
Honeymoon with a Prince: Royal Scandals Book 2 by Nicole Burnham. Kelly Chase is spending her honeymoon in Sarcaccia by herself, after she dumped her rich, lying fiancé. After all, Kelly sold her lucrative closet designing business to pay for the trip. She spends her first day on the beach soaking up the sun and the atmosphere, at her private villa. Newly back from a stint in the Sarcaccian army, Prince Massimo Barrali needs time away from the palace, his family and his duties. He has been spending time on his fishing boat with his dog. Of course, his dog loves water and jumps from the boat to swim to shore. The dog befriends Kelly on the beach and decides to share her lounge chair. While Prince Massimo is searching the beach for his dog, he comes upon his sharing Kelly’s chair. The pair start talking and Prince Massimo realizes that Kelly has no idea who he is. He asks her to share dinner with him and one thing leads to another – with them spending the night together. Kelly finds herself in a difficult situation the next day, when the police knock on the villa door insisting that she has misrepresenting who she is – meanwhile the Prince is trying to hide the fact that he is with her. Things seem to go from bad to worse when Kelly is arrested and the Prince is discovered. The plot is pretty fast paced. The characters are well laid out and interesting.
I want to love this book, but there's something pulling me back. I was just not feeling it. Book1 was angst ridden and the emotions involved were all-time high. But for the sequel...it lacks in that department. The story started out great. It was sexy, flirtatious, and fun. As it progresses, it became mediocre. There's not much to the storyline and not a ton of surprises. What you see is what you get. I like this book, but don't love it like I wanted to.
However, I will continue to read the next book (Vittorie's book). He's an intriguing character and I can't wait to see what the author spins for his story.
Honeymoon With a Prince is book 2 in the Royal Scandals series. It can be read as a standalone book.
Prince Massimo Barrali is recently back from his time in the military with a pretty major burn from an injury and some PTSD he hasn't yet admitted to having. He is trying to relax with his dog and have some alone time as he readjusts to life as a royal.
Kelly Chase ended her engagement 10 days before the wedding because her ex was a liar and his true colors were becoming more obvious. Kelly sold her successful closet design business at his suggestion and used some of the funds to pay for their honeymoon trip. So, she decided to go on it alone. Massimo's dog jumps ship to swim in the water and comes to shore to be loved up by Kelly. Massimo eventually finds him and is intrigued by this woman who treats him like a normal person and as an equal. They go to dinner and end up spending the night together.
In the morning, the police show up because her ex drained the funds out of the bank for her business sale and the owner of the villa isn't happy about not getting paid for her reservation. Massimo bails her out of jail, but now Kelly knows who he really is, and she isn't about to start a relationship with another person who can't be honest with her. See how they work through resolving their issues, while they get to know one another better, and gain some trust they both need to find.
I have enjoyed all of Burnham's royal family stories. Her female leads are generally strong and intelligent. They are usually resistant to the idea of a prince coming into their lives but the men behind the title change their minds. They don't need to be rescued and Kelly Chase is very vocal about her desire to make it on her own, but companionship is something everyone needs. Prince Massimo is far from a spoiled royal and I really enjoyed their developing relationship and deepening trust in eachother.
I really liked this storyline and I only saw a couple glitches in the editing. However this is definitely not a clean novel. But there was only one love scene and it was easily skipped. I don't feel like I missed anything. and if I remember right there was only one or two cuss words. I would have given it four stars had the love singing been clean or behind closed doors.
She's from Texas on what was to be her honeymoon. But after all there was no marriage why waist the honeymoon. He is a prince not wanting to be recognized. She ends up being arrested he hails her out. Can these two people from different parts of the world stand a chance at love? Or will her past become an obstacle that he can't get over?
Oh my gosh!!! SOOOO GOOODDDD!!! Soooo many feels!!!! Love love loved this storey!!! Got it free off kobo, now I cant wait to read the test of the series!!!
And I dont care how cliche it is about a prince falling in love with and ordinary woman. This story felt different and made me gush and love Massimo and Kelly soo much.
Kelly Chase split from her fiancé but decided to go on her honeymoon to the Mediterranean Island of Sarcaccia by herself. Kelly finds a dog while on the beach she meets the owner Prince Massimo Barrali. Kelly doesn’t know that Massimo is a prince, when she finds out later about his true identity she feels betrayed. I really enjoyed this contemporary romance novel.
She is healing from her ex . He is healing from his service to his country. Little did they know know how much they had in common. They are good for each other. She learns to trust . He learns to talk and finds its okay. To feel what he feels. Happy reading.
Enjoyed this story, though for me at times it had so much detail. So if you like a story with a lot of detail this story is it. Was a great read of romance and love. Narration was great too.
Ding dong I really like Massimo, what a great story I loved the characters that plays in this storyline, I fully enjoyed it I didn't want it to end, I'm sad that it has all too soon.
The book was easy reading. I didn't have to critique the grammar or storyline. It just flowed. My one complaint is this is the ONLY Kindle Unlimited book this author offers so I won't be able to read her other adventures.
Great story with interesting twist. Liked the way the characters were developed. Read this as a stand alone book so was unfamiliar with the characters but that didn't take away from enjoying and understanding the story. Totally recommend for a feel good romance read.
I’m not much for contemporary romances lately because so many of them have “f”bombs and graphic sex that just makes it ugly. This had plenty of steam without making it vulgar and I liked how there was a lot of depth to the main characters.
I give this 3.5⭐️ I liked this! Such a cute story and I love the friendship that these two form as the book goes on. I did feel like the ending was a bit abrupt. I would have liked a little more happily ever after.
I LOVED Massimo and Kelly.. 4 stars because it doesn't have an epilogue, and it left me wanting more. I wish we had more of them together in the story overall.
