Having just finished Vol. 22 before reading this, it was a nice experience to return to the original characters, who I view as being the best developed of the lead cast so far. Although I did enjoy the chapters included within, there is a general sense by the end of the volume that the next volume will be the one to kick the story into the next gear. From what the volume shows of the three Team Rocket sub-bosses, I was a little disappointed with their, I thought, gimmicky character designs. That said, like all speech in the volume, the dialogue won me around and emphasised the qualities of their characters, as well as any existing characters or those others introduced in the volume. There is also a fantastic battle between Red and Blue that emphasises their skill and strategic thinking—how far they have come. And, of course, the promise of what is just around the corner will keep me looking forward to reading Vol. 24 very soon!

It's nice to see the old gang again, and of course Team Rocket is back with a bang. I thought this story-line was pretty interesting actually with the

More Red, Blue, and Green I love it! Also love that they're actually aging as the series goes and not forever 10 (looking at you Ash >.>) This arc doesn't have much of a game equivalent so its a new fresh experience, I'm hoping we'll get some other characters in this arc too like Yellow. Anyway I think this was a strong start and I can't wait to continue on

A triumphant return to the Kanto region with my favourites being reintroduced. This was a great return to what started the Pokemon series.

Underrated banger arc. Blue is my favorite character, she deserved so much better.

It's a good intro to the FR/LG saga, with Deoxys coming across as very creepy and Team Rocket being much more interesting than I recall in playing the game.

It's great to see Red back and with promising character development. The tension and battles of this volume make it even more enjoyable. 4/5

5 sao.

I missed Red, Blue, and Green; they are my favorite core characters and it was nice to get that OG feel back (Kanto, man). I love the dynamic between them and I prefer them over Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, and Sapphire. Glad to get back into the series. Overall, the reintroduction to Kanto was great, and even though the characters in this chapter were missing from the last one, you get the sense that the world is indeed connected because of the mention of the big battle that raged in Hoenn.

It's nice seeing Red, Blue, and Green again! All older and more mature, with close friendships with each other and their Pokemon. And Deoxys is super cool. And seeing Team Rocket return is awesome. Though I do miss Mato's illustrations, Yamamoto has done a great job.

Another one of those that probably would have been more powerful if I read it just after I finished with Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, etc. Hard to remember plot lines, alliances, etc. Leads into a pretty good story though.
