Hajime Isayama (諫山 創 Isayama Hajime, born 1986) is a Japanese manga artist from Ōyama, Ōita. His first and currently ongoing serial, Attack on Titan, has sold over 22 million copies as of July 2013. He has mentioned Tsutomu Nihei, Ryōji Minagawa, Kentaro Miura, Hideki Arai and Tōru Mitsumine as artists he respects, but stated that the manga that had the biggest influence on him was ARMS.
Mostly a recap of what has happened in the manga up to volume 11. The interviews and the original draft that Hajime Isayama had presented to get the series accepted for serialization were great.
Good guidebook. I love the extra details of the weapons they use. Most of its just a basic recap of the what has happened so far in the first two seasons. It's amazingly detailed and perfect for any Attack on Titan fan. The bonus stuff like the Q&A and the interviews of Isyama and Back got a few laughs out of me. I highly recommend checking this out. There's even a rough draft of the first manga for the series which I found interesting.
this little guidebook nicely summarizes everything that has happened up until now. I was hoping it might provide insight past book 13 but it doesn't reveal anything new.
This guidebook is the most in-depth and comprehensive analysis of Attack on Titan up to volume 11 and a brilliant piece for fans and collectors of the series. I will say that if you do get this, get a physical copy because it would be a lot more impressive and some parts like the cut outs aren’t particularly useful when I’m reading the digital version (but I got this as part of a Humble Bundle so it couldn’t be helped). This book is jam packed with lots of content! There are coloured versions of some of the manga panels and character sketches, the first rough draft sketches for the first chapter, and interviews with some of the main voice actors, director of the anime, the managaka, and even imaginary interviews with characters. The guidebook dives into every character, including the the very minor ones, with clear and fun visuals, and analyses of various aspects of the world such as the weaponry. And of course a recap in excruciating detail the story from volume 1-11. It’s a shame it doesn’t cover more volumes but I do believe there are two more official guidebooks…may have to read them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
From what I understand, this is a combination of what was two guidebooks originally published in Japan for the mega-popular Attack on Titan manga series. This might help explain some of the "repeated" information.
Overall, I found it to be a fantastic resource. It contains interviews with the creator, fun character profiles and interviews, summaries of technology, Titans, a timeline, and more! Also features line art and character designs from the anime adaptation. (This is my personal favorite of the book. I'm hoping to create a Survey Corps costume in the future, so it'll be a great reference.) Highly recommended for all Attack on Titan fans to take a look! If you're unsure, grab a copy from your local library system to peruse. =)
A fine example of the 'manga series guidebook', definitely recommended for fans of the series and those who customarily purchase such volumes for reference. Character guides and schematics for weapons and equipment are plentiful.
This guide didn't tell you anything new, and just wrote the same thing over and over again in different ways. But it was nice to read interviews from Isayama and Back
So the attack on titan guidebook is about all the characters bois and events that happened and quotes and a manga on how the first manga was going to go but it was denied. My favorite part in this whole guidebook is that the character bois so I can see my favorite character and read all about them and it also tells what they’re best such as for some teamwork is best or Wits. There are events as I just said and they talk all about it from volume 1 to volume 11 also they talk about what’s going on and then what’s going on with the main characters. Then they also have made up funny interviews such as one on Hannes and then the instructor and Levi and Erwin Smith also other recruits from the 104th are in the interviews as well. There is one thing wrong with the guidebook though because if you didn’t finish reading 1 through 11 then it could show you spoilers like people’s deaths and events that happened that you didn’t even read about yet. I recommend this book to fans of attack on titan and people who maybe want to know about the series before they actually read it because it can show you the main characters.
