Since I am fairly certain I will never be invited to a royal dinner at Buckingham Palace, I borrowed this book from the 'New Book' shelf at our local public library. It was an enjoyable read with gorgeous photos of food and china and table settings and everything decadent for celebrations at Buckingham Palace.
The recipes are presented with close-up photos and the 'Presentation' sidebars give ideas on how to serve the food. Also included is the history of the various pieces of china and crystal, etc., used in the palace over the past couple of centuries. All very interesting and enjoyable.
Recommended for cookbook lovers, history buffs, and those interested in relaxing for a while with a beautiful book!
This is actually a pretty thin book, more of a coffee table book than a cookbook/resource but I have to admit I just love it! The photos are lovely, both of the food and the palace. There is a great behind-the-scenes look at events and formal dinners.
