Anderson-Newham, an early learning supervising librarian and storyteller, provides menus for library storytime programs with children, with a focus on preschool storytimes. She describes how children grow and learn, storytime planning, storytime ingredients (books, fingerplays, flannelboards, games, math, science, and poetry, with specific suggestions), then presents the menus, which relate to specific themes and include three suggested fiction titles, a suggested informational title, fingerplay or action verses, poems, flannelboards, interactive games, math and science activities, and lists of additional fiction and informational titles and poems. This book was a delightful storytime resource. I am excited to put some of the ideas into practice. Much of the information was already familiar to me, but it was nice to have a refresher with some new ideas. I also like that there are some updated titles added.
