Echoes of Ancient Dreams

Rate this book
Destry Caldbeck, smarting from being jilted at the altar, travels to Ireland on what was supposed to be her honeymoon. While visiting Dowth Mound, an ancient Neolithic site outside of Dublin, she encounters a group of students and their instructor. Dr. Conor Daderga is everything an Irishman should be; enormous, muscular, redhead, and dead sexy. He’s also loud, booming, animated, and brilliant.

Destry goes exploring the mound while listening to Dr. Daderga’s lesson to his students in the background. Dowth is thought by scholars to be a burial mound and while nosing in the ancient chambers, Destry experiences ghostly voices from ages past. Rushing from the mound, she runs straight into Dr. Daderga.

Conor, having seen the gorgeous American with the bright eyes when she first arrived at the mound, is thrilled to have a chance encounter with her. Destry and Conor share a moment of complete, utter attraction before ancient incantations and ghostly visitations begin to lend clues to their past lives as an ancient king and queen, cruelly separated by an evil wizard. Soon, they find themselves caught up in a maelstrom of time shifts, landing them back in the Dark Ages of Ireland’s history where they discover a high king’s destiny.

Kathryn Le Veque can right modern dialogue !!!
I like her writing style but still I think it's more suitable with medieval romance.
Anyway the effect for this time travel fantasy was fine. It was so corny that it was funny.
An enjoyable read.

Love Eternal

I loved how even through time and space they recognized an attraction that could not be denied and he acknowledged an instant love for her. The fact that he had unknowingly prepared himself for the language, the history, the culture and the weapons and how to use them was as if deep inside he recognized he would need all these tools subconsciously. I loved the two of them and their abiding love.

Love through time

I love time travel books. I wanted to enjoy this story. It is more of an introduction to a great love. You get into it then it just ends. No real contexts or plot. You are left wanting and not stratified. And to top things off, there really is no part two. All the passion and love and hope just goes where.

One of the Best Ever

Another great one. Can’t wait to read High King (pt. 2). Back in time makes you wonder about little things we take for granted and they learn not to miss them. How wonderful.

Destry Caldbeck is in Ireland for what should have been her honeymoon. Instead she is exploring with her best friend after her groom dumped her, on her wedding day.
Dr Conor Daderga is a history professor conducting a tour, of ancient burial grounds. He seems to have gained two gate crashers.
After a very disturbed night trying to sleep, Destry needs some answers and there is only one place to get them.
A marvellous time travel romance with lots of excitement and a major twist on the normal type. This is the start of a series that I must now read all of. Our protagonists are about to start a grand adventure. I loved every page.

Destry Caldbeck and Dr. Conor Daderga are destined to meet in Ireland where he teaches ancient Irish culture and she is visiting on what was supposed to be her honeymoon but she was left at the altar. Together they fall into a time channel and end up in ancient Ireland where he is the King and she is his Queen. They are reunited with their children in a strange ancient world and find the love they have always shared. Starting a new life based on the old forgotten one offers adventure, romance and mystery for this couple linked throughout time.

I purchased Echoes of Ancient Dreams as part of an anthology.

Destry was jilted at the alta and decided to go ahead and go on her honeymoon she was supposed to have to Ireland. She goes to this site where she sees several students and their teacher talking and exploring about ancient ruins. When she walks to a mound and hears ancient voices and tells the doctor. They are thrust back in time where they were a king and queen in another time but were cursed. Pretty good book but left me hanging. Left me hanging.

I am truly amazed!

I have to tell you, I am not a person who likes time travel books. It has never been "my thing". I love Kathryn's medieval book, that is my genre. I bought Echoes of Ancient Dreams and I was not disappointed. I loved, loved, loved it. I fell in love with Connor first and from there, I could not put the book down. I truly cannot believe how great it was to read this novella.

I don't know why I bought this. I love KLV and time travel but this short story was just too short. Is there ever going to be more to the story?

Great beginning

Very interesting story, but it is only the beginning so be prepared for that. A great story in true Le Veque fashion! Can't wait to read on.
