The third edition of this acclaimed survey brings together scholars and diplomats from the Middle East, Europe, and North America to provide an objective, cross-cultural assessment of U.S. policy toward the Middle East. The Third Edition has been completely revised and updated. It includes entirely new chapters on U.S.-Afghanistan relations from the Soviet invasion to Osama bin Laden, recent developments in U.S.-Turkey relations, and the historic Baghdad Pact.
