Apache Flame (1996) got better as it went along but I was bored at times … over heavy with the heroine’s anguish, the hero’s anguish, and harrowing episodes.

I really love HRs that feature a MC who’s a NA or of mixed heritage NA and white but this story was a bit disappointing. For me there was way too much emphasis on Pace’s emotional challenges … he always seemed to be in agony about something and kept leaving Johanna. I actually felt sorry for him … I’ve read loads of HRs with NAs over the past 40+ years and can’t ever remember feeling this way about a hero. He was likable, strong, gorgeous but I think the author over did his “woe is me” storyline.

Just not my cup of tea. But I did love the book cover by the legendary artist Pino … it’s fabulous!!!

WOW!!! What a series

read all six books and could not put them down. full of all emotions and Intriguing interest one reads a book for. The Colton family, dysfunctional as they may be, was brave in a time the West was in a great turmoil, they fought for their beliefs and surrounded family with love even though at odds. Author did a lot of research to include a little historical knowledge with family and love. Romance throughout series brought forth the knowledge that the West was dangerous and lives could be short, also to continue the Colton heritage. I would recommend this series to anyone that enjoys historical romances and adventures of the Old West.

One of my very first romances! Oh, how I cried. I cursed fate, I contemplated chucking the book at the wall, I was tormented and loved every minute.

I don't know how well it would hold up for me these some 15 years or so later, so I think I'll just bask in the memory.

Very good read

Another great story..I enjoyed this one from start to finish..As always the Colton women were both passionate and strong. Loved the story taking us back to the Apache home in the mountain's.

Wonderful confusion to epic tale

This family have to get out more- there's people to marry beyond their immediate family group, honestly !
Apart from this minor gripe I loved this series inspite of misunderstandings and pig headedness from both the heroes and heroines .

Good story although in a few places it was boring. The hero is a half bred that had been sort of adopted into the Colton family. She was his stepsister. He set out to rescue her and at the end they fell in love. HEA ending
