The Clan MacCoinnach #2

To Tempt Highland Fate

Rate this book
Haunted by a past he cannot change, Drust MacCoinnach has made himself a willing sacrifice in his clan’s fight to keep the balance of Good and Evil. But instead of the heroic death he expected, he awoke to find himself saved by a woman who would turn his life inside out, and make him burn for her so fiercely that nothing can stop him from claiming her as his own.

Willa has her own demons to slay, and a narrowly-escaped past she dreams of putting behind her for good. But when she comes across a wounded stranger high in the mountains, she simply cannot leave him there to die, even though she is running for her own life. As she nurses him back to health, she realizes the crossing of their paths was no accident… if only she can convince the headstrong warrior to cede his body and his heart to her.

Enjoyable read!

The plot to this series is so addicting and keeps the reader intrigued through out the stories. This second story is based on the second brother Drust, He survives the ordeal of falling down into a cave with an evil druid and works his way out barely alive and Willa his destine mate finds him.

The magic of the story grows as a prophecy is revealed - Three sons to be born of three sons. Six men to usher in an age of peace and prosperity.

Drust and Willa's story intrigued me to the end. I like how the author showed Drust's struggles with accepting a harsh truth about faith and life changes, how the past was not his fault and he can move on. I loved Willa and her strength and courage to heal and save this damaged warrior.

Their romance is sweet and the erotic scenes are rated at 3 flames. Not to explicit but it gets the point across.

The characters connections were very emotional and I felt every moment and visualized every scene.

The only draw back I found with the read was the errors - one big error is according to my kindle location 4150 - the two female characters are being mixed up.

"Faith had intended to walk in the gardens until her head cleared, but after a while she realized that just wasn't going to happen. Nor did she feel like she could go back to the confines of the keep. When she noticed a narrow path winding through the woods, she followed it, still lost in her thoughts. A small cottage came into view through the trees, and just as she drew close enough to see the door, it flew open. An older man with white hair stood there, a strange grin on his face, Shocked, Willa could only gape at him."

Someone if you know this author please let her know of this mistake. Faith needs to be changed to Willa.

Even though that minor error I really enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the next book in the series. I just have to know more about these highlanders with the dragon powers. I look forward to seeing if Eian finds his true mate and if the prophecy comes true.

great read!

Great sequel!

This book was as good as the first one! A bit more sexual content, but I skipped over them. I'm a romantic at heart and can't wait to see what happens to the 3rd and last brother.

This was another brother's story in the trilogy. As in the previous book the characters came to life & had their own personalities. The magic of the story was similar in context but not in storyline. I liked that each brother & each couple had their own struggles & adventures in finding their mates. I enjoyed that they were somewhat similar in that they found their mates, but different in each brothers issues in finding those mates. It was a great trilogy to read!

Great book........I got it for free with kindle unlimited. But worth a buy.

There is three books start with the first book and go from there. Can be read as stand alone but to get the whole story start from the beginning.

Very Good

This is a good story well written. The first in the series prompted me to read the next & I will read the third because even though it is a series each story is different with its own mishaps & interesting twists & turns. Enjoy!

meh.

I wish the book was more developed, mainly the characters. The book was a little too shallow, all around, for my tastes.
