I thought this book was great thou some people thought it was childish. There is a new kid in school and hes an angel. But no one can be an angel to Bernie he is on a mission to crack the new kid. Is the new kid actually an angel or is he trying to put Bernie in a lot of Heep by pretending? Read the book to find out!

Nostalgia trip: back in the fourth grade, I used to read a fair bit of Rotten School. This was one of the ones I knew I had read, and after reading this, I’ll definitely check out the other ones—and some of the ones I never even touched. The Rotten School series is one that I thought I’d hate after having read so many more books, but to my shock, the one I was most nervous to revisit not only was good but showed the light within tropes I don’t like in Goosebumps and kids horror. Yes, you heard me right: this is a “you gotta believe me” story that doesn’t piss me off. Rambling over, the message of the story (which is basically just to persevere and believe in yourself) was done well. The art in here done by Trip Park is very recognizable and his its own vibe that suits the books like a glove; it’s slimy looking but also cartoony, and I love it. The book knew that it was a trope-filled read that was aimed to an audience who (probably) have never read much of the trope before, and it worked simply because it was extremely quick, had likably bad people, and legitimate payoff with Bernie getting exactly what he wanted. And again—Bernie and Angel are assholes but are completely likable even if they are stereotypical. Bernie is a narcissistic fuck who is morbidly ungenerous, whilst Angel is the same person—but with a cuter shell, more charm, and hidden behind a goody two-shoes persona. Archetypes, but done really well. And overall, the book is brisk and fun for what it is. As for any negatives, the tropes are still present I think the story would’ve obviously sufficed from a more original approach to this story formula or to just do something entirely different (maybe enemies to besties?). Some characters are kind of half-assedly slammed into here and they feel like filler for an already extremely short read, and there’s definitely some extra fat here even if none of it is abhorrent. Overall, 8/10. No masterpiece but I’m surprised how much I still enjoyed this after six or so years. Rotten School will be (slowly) nudging its way into my tbr, though not as often as horror.

This book is about a guy name Bernie B. He had his own room untill a crazy boy name Angel decided to be roomates with Bernie B. When Angel first move into the room, he seemed wierd at first. Then after about 5 hours, he changed the room around and put pictures of Angel's with faces of the kid Angel. Plus, he took down all of the cool posters that Bernie had up when Angel wasn't thought of. Also Angel took Bernie's dream girl because when Bernie's dream girl heard about Angel. She really wanted to date him because other girls thought that he was dreamey and so nice and acts like a true gentlemen. I can connect to this book because, Angel is just acting nice to get his way all the time. I can connect to this book because my little sister always acts like an Angel when my parents ARE around to get what she wants. Then when my parents AREN'T around, she acts like a bratty little devil. I would give this book a 3 because it was to wiered to think of a boy acting like a true Angel but after a while he would start acting like himself to be comfortable.

1.The book is called The Rottenest Angel and the author is R.L. Stine. The book is about a kid named Bernie who gets a roommate who is called Angel but is really not.Bernie tries to get rid of him in any way possible but in the process gets himself in trouble.I would recommend this book.
2.I think that the point of this book was to entertain. What the author was trying to say is that if you want something it could be done.
3.I felt that it was an easy book.I liked the book because of all the things Bernie did to try to get rid of Angel. Also because of the stuff Angel did and didn’t get caught.
4.I would recommend this book to somebody who wants to read something short and funny.A person would need to know somebody who could get away with anything and never get caught.

I'm having a blast rereading the Rotten School series. Yes, I know that the books are written for kids, but adults can enjoy too. Overall, Rotten School: The Rottenest Angel is a fun read, but it's lacking the humor that were in the previous books. I'm still giving the title a 4 out of 5 as the illustrations by Trip Parker make up for the missing gags.
