Wren has trained for war since she was a child, but a secret bond with the enemy leads her to question everything she's ever known.

Cast out by her family as a traitor, the fiery, alchemy wielding shape-shifter finds refuge in the arms of Ville, the raven-winged leader of the enemy clan. The two star-crossed lovers discover that the world they know is built on lies meant to fuel the war that has raged between the two clans for years.

Wren and Ville’s relationship transcends the racism and stereotypes around them, as they seek to discover the real cause of the fighting. Armed with alchemy, attitude, and a six-shooter, Wren sets out on a journey of love, loss, and redemption that will change the world.

EARTH AND SKY is a romantic fantasy set in a steampunk world of alchemist shifters and vampiric fallen angels. It has crossover potential, with appeal to mature young adult and adult audiences and is a perfect blend of romance, fantasy, and paranormal.

Sometimes our greatest strengths come from our deepest challenges. I write magic and romance, starring a cast of creatures with feathers, fins, and teeth. My books include paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and fantasy romance--with the occasional steampunk or alien story thrown in just for kicks. My pan heart firmly believes love is love, so you'll see straight, LGBTQIA, monogamous, reverse harem, and poly relationships in my work. My favorite theme is overcoming our inner demons and the insecurities that hold us back.
I also advocate for self-development and mental health and dabble in non-fiction as time allows. I love the outdoors and still hope to be abducted by fae! (I may have more in common with my characters than I care to admit.)

I was hooked the moment I started reading Earth and Sky. Loved the scrappy heroine, Wren, and the mysterious, sweet stranger who becomes so important (Ville). Their individual character development, the progression of their relationship, the world-building - LOVED IT ALL! It's true that a few typos, etc., seemed to be missed in the final editing, but it's minimal stuff. I highly, highly recommend this gorgeous fantasy/love story and am already looking forward to re-reading it in a few months.

I enjoyed this story but I did find myself skipping parts near the end... it got a little slow and you already knew what was going to happen by then. But I enjoyed the characters and the world that Ms. Draper created. It reminded me of Full Metal Alchemist with some winged vamps and shifters thrown in. Very fun read.

What would you do for freedom? This is a love story that has taken years to become real & solid. Wren is a princess red wolf shifter that just wants to be free and not have to be under her father's & sister's thumb. She has always been made to feel worthless even though she is tries so hard. She meets a young fledging fallen angel Ville and she gives him her blood as he is weak and needs to get away from the court. Little does she know that it will change the course of her life. Her father finds outs and makes her swear a blood oath to her sister as one day she will be Queen so Wren is stuck here again. She is about to meet her young friend again but now he is bigger badder and the leader of the fallen. Why are they so attracted to each other, they are on the opposite side and there is no hope for them ever. There clans are at war and slaughter seems to be the only way forward.
Wren is about to find out that her whole life has been a lie and she only has one person to turn to but will Ville be able to protect her? Can they ever be more than friends as everyone in his court wants her dead as she is the enemy? The more they dig into their histories the clear the picture becomes but will anybody believe who caused the war between the races? A great sold read. I received a copy from the author.

Wren is an 18 year old red wolf Shifter princess, and Ville is a 20 year old Fallen Angel. Shifters and Fallen Angels have been at war with each other for decades; both believing that they were protecting the weak humans from the other race after their respective queens were murdered.

The book covers the story of Wren getting exiled for her traitorous decisions, Wren finding and living with Ville, the love developing between the two, and their mutual journey to find the truth of the war between their races.

I found that the steampunk world mentioned wasn't every immersive - we could get the sense of the Victorian fashion, the main characters traveled around in trains, and there were mentions of airships. Wren and the humans used guns, and we saw characters with mechanical prosthetics. The battles and scenes in the houses gave me more of a high fantasy vibe instead, especially since they usually dueled with swords to hack off limbs.

I greatly enjoyed the character development of the two main characters and their relationships with the supporting cast. Even the "evil" characters had believable motivations that helped justify their poor actions. It was a bittersweet journey to their HEA, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Idk how to rate

Spoilers below- I’m not sure how to rate this. I liked it over all, but it had some inconsistencies and sometimes the way the story moved didn’t make sense. I think some editing for logic would have helped a lot. Also personally irritated how at the end she named one of her children after her dick sister and told her how great she was. Barf. Also her dad can suck a bag of dicks too in my opinion.

This is a wonderful book! The story is riveting, and takes place in a steampunk world where magic and technology co-exist. The technology is of the steam-powered variety, with automobiles and guns; and the magic includes alchemy, energy manipulation, and incredible creatures. There is war, intrigue, and romance. It is a sort of Romeo-and-Juliet romance between individuals that should never have come together, and the result shatters their world in ways never dreamed!

I highly recommend this story!

description

It's Steampunk!!!! *SQUEALS*
It was a quick and nice read. It was not as intense as the books I usually read but I liked it.
It's a steampunk Romeo and Juliet paranormal version; to the point that the lovers aren't even humans, aren't even from the same species but when they mate, the offspring are more powerful that it scared the humans which led to some of them creating a misunderstandings between the angel and the shifters, resulting in years of battle and its the two star-crossed lovers that bring the end to all of it.

The details aint bulky, everything is straight to the point. The characters arent whiny, everyone is badass even if they arent good.
Again, it was a nice read

This Romeo & Juliet-sequel story is uniquely executed and was a true pleasure for this sci-fi/fantasy fan.

The world building is well done and characters are all richly textured. The story was engaging from the very beginning and I couldn't put it down. The magical rules in this book are not the classic shifters or vampires. The nature of these characters was different in a very positive and enjoyable way.

The story's twist which you discover toward the end was neatly done. As I read, I really did so to see how things would unfold because. The plot progression was neither boringly predictable nor contrived.

This will be going on my favorites shelf and is a definite re-read.

I love the world this author has created.

Alchemy, magic, fallen angels with sharp pointy teeth and a world of shifters. I normally don't like it when you have vampire and shifters in the same book, but these weren't vampires and it just worked. The whole book is just so different from your usual paranormal series.

Both clans are fighting against each other, but against all odds Wren and Ville fall in love and have to work together to have peace. Both of them think the other started the war and both work to keep humans safe from the other clan, so what is really going on?

I look forward to more full length books from the same author
