Never Have I Ever

Rate this book
Astrophysicist-in-training Piper Minogue has a lot of control over her day-to-day life. Between completing a Master’s degree at Caltech and beginning her fruitful career at a local observatory she has little time for socializing. Until she attends one specific party that is.

There, Piper is introduced to a drinking game called Never Have I Ever, and she finds herself admitting to a secret fantasy which challenges her friends’ views of her otherwise prudish nature. Her confession piques the interest of one man in particular, Noah; a handsome stranger with a darkly boyish charm.

The resulting spiral of rapture and torture that follows is threatened by the demons of both their pasts. Piper's inability to give her heart to anyone, and Noah's guilt over the death of his former lover claw to the surface to tear Piper away from not only the one man who has ever made her feel like she does not have to be in control of her desires, but also the newly collected list of Nevers they both want to turn into reality.

Well since you mentioned it, Mary Beth... this cover does look familiar...

I shall dub this the Book of Many Plots, or Pass the Salt, Slut.

1.5 stars. The more I think about it, the more I'm surprised/frustrated that we weren't warned about what was going to happen in the last part of the book like we normally would be with dark erotica. There should be a trigger warning in that synopsis which goes beyond mention of fantasies because not everything that happens is a fantasy. "Strong BDSM themes" does not cut it.

I feel the need to have to put up a spoiler warning. There's no way to get into what frustrated me about Never Have I Ever without listing it all out. I'm going to just want to let it all fly and speak of whatever I want to speak about. So if you have any intention of reading this book, be warned that you might have parts of it spoiled for you if you continue to read any further.

Continuing on...

What I wanted is not what this book delivered. I thought I was going to get a story involving party games which revealed dark fantasies, and the lengths that the characters would go in order to fulfill those fantasies. I actually wanted to read THAT story. I was hoping for another fetish book similar to Willing Victim (man-handling is my weakness). Unfortunately, that was only about 10% of the entire idea. I wish there'd been more in the synopsis about how dark this book would turn (not opposed to dark, I just want to know before I read a book, so I can read according to mood). I didn't realize we'd evolve from play fantasies into something that went far beyond play.

Instead, we had multiple, warring plots going on here.

Is the book supposed to be happy fluff romance, a BDSM training erotica, a suspense/thriller book, or a dark and twisted erotica? You can't put all of that in one book and not expect people to get whiplash. Either we're playing happy couple, or we're partying like kids, or we're learning how to play slut to our master, or we're running from evil rapists - there shouldn't be that many plot turns in one book!

Here's the recap (one or two steps may be out of order - it was a lot to remember) :

~ Teenage party games leads to...
~ Rape fantasy scene played out (non-structured) leads to...
~ An awkward date leads to...
~ A hard edged jump into the world of D/s, complete with a plethora of props and name degradation leads to...
~ Office and public sex leads to...
~ Being trained by another dom leads to...
~ Meeting the business partner brother who is an ahole leads to...
~ The original couple back to being fluffy happy and talking about all the "never have I evers" they want to fulfill together leads to...
~ A whirlwind travel and adventure fest where the chick is spoiled by riches leads to...
~ The chick meeting the "supposedly dead" ex leads to...
~ Serious HARDCORE WTFERY and kidnap and rape and abuse leads to...
~ More dark WTFERY leads to...
~ A happy end scene?

Did you get all that???

Even though I felt swindled into reading something that wasn't what I was expecting, I can give credit where credit is due. The author does have some decent talent as a story-teller. Obviously, the person put a lot of effort into crafting a timeline and series of events. And I will say that there were parts of the book which did entertain me. I loved that very first "fantasy play" scene in Piper's apartment, and could have easily read 10 more of those types of scenes before the relationship went into structured BDSM hell.

I'm all for name calling in the bedroom when it's sexy. I love a man who knows when to use phrases such as, "you love being my dirty little whore, dontcha?" Too bad it didn't work for me in this book. Noah was calling Piper "slut" at the most random times and it never ever came across as sexy. I get that it was probably used in this instance as a means to show power that Dom had over sub, but "slut" was being thrown around in such a way that it was almost to the point where it was inserted into conversations even when it felt like he wasn't exerting much power. I half expected him to start asking her to pass the salt, slut.

People, I had over 50 notes and marks in this book.

I just started to go through all of my marked quotes and notes and realized that there's no way in hell I could do any big commentary because picking through my notes would take way too much time. So I won't. However, I will add that a lot of these notes were jotted down due to awkward sentence structure (see comments below for my thoughts on the -oh shit- debacle). There were several sentences which seemed to make little sense, as well as a few which were just plain silly. Here's a quick example of a sentence which made me cringe a little : I mewled and squirmed above him like a bitch in heat.

The writing had some issues up-front (several pages of character and clothing description) but I felt like much of that fell away once the pace started moving. Again, imaginative story-telling wasn't the issue. With at least 2 or so of the plot devices removed (and a synopsis rework to let us know what we're getting into) this could be a halfway decent book.

If you were brave enough to read the spoilers and are still considering reading this book, let's see if you'll be a good fit. If you like dark erotica with a suspense twist and don't mind another dominating, ultra-rich, perfect man (who can cook, speaks multiple languages, and will whisk you away to exotic locales while showering you with expensive jewelry) as a main character (which is something I'm truly over - die billionaire trend, die!), then you will probably enjoy this MUCH more than I did.

Accidental BR with Her Majesty, and by accidental I mean stalkerific BR! :D

This quote best sums up Never have I ever:

While everything doesn’t necessarily happen for a reason, every action we take will have an equal and opposite reaction. It is written in the laws of physics, and in the laws of life. What we do with that information, and how we react and adjust to actions upon us, is what defines us in the end.

Even if it wasn't perfect, I'll give it 5 stars because it was hot kept me interested until the very end. :))

This was an interesting book. The first 60% was a fairly standard BDSM relationship book. I liked both Piper and Noah. They were both really smart characters, which I appreciated. Piper in particular was a interesting case of a very intelligent, independent submissive, which is something I don't often read about. Noah always had a serious air of mystery about him. You could tell he was definitely hiding things from Piper. That was something else I found intriguing. Despite the fact that, at its core, the BDSM relationship is founded on profound trust, there didn't seem to be all that much trust, on either side, outside of their sexual relationship. I suspect in real life, this is probably more often the case the not, but it was certainly a change from my usual book relationships. Also, the emotional side took a good deal of time to develop, which was a nice change from the insta love that seems to be the rage these days. I think since it was obvious that Noah was hiding things, I found myself trying to to get attached to him. I honestly wondered at parts if he was going to turn out to be the "bad guy"

Just after the half way mark, the book took a very unexpected turn. There was some set up to the issues presented, but the extent to which things got totally messed up took me by surprise. I think this twist could have turned this good book, into a great book, but, all the realism I felt in the first half (the relationship developing slowly etc) seemed to get lost. I was totally baffled by some of Noah and Pipers actions and reactions. Not only did they seem out if character for them ip they seemed out of character for any human being. . There were also a few key things that I felt like weren't explained, or were under explained which really bothered me.

Overall and interesting book that didn't quite live up to its potential for me.

*just a note, this book contains humiliation and mild objectification as part if the BDSM relationship. It's not hard core, but is beyond what I am used to reading in "main stream" BDSM, so I wanted to add the warning so you aren't t surprised.

Shame on me for not posting a review for this book, it was amazing. Love it so much that I bought it the paperback. I'll try to come up with something decent to say that will do this book justice.

Wow!

Never Have I Ever is going to be hard to write a review for. I mean, I finished this book like 6 days ago.. never wrote the review or my BR comments until today. It was just a book that I really had to think about before I dove into writing anything about it. I feel like my review and comments might suck ass but I don't think I have fully recovered from this book yet.

So this book is about Piper and Noah. It's kind of a take on 50 Shades of Gray but for most of the books it was 50 Shades of Boring. Half of the stuff happening in this book was completely predictable. I feel confused about some events that happened to certain characters but I also feel like she needed to happen or at least be told in a way so that you could understand that character more?!? I hope that makes sense because right now I probably look confused AF right now.

Noah and Piper were kind of cute and enjoyable to read about. Their smut was filly with smuttiness. However, the amount of times he called her a slut or a whore would've earned a punch straight to the nuts. I get that they were role playing or whatever.. but if a guy ever said that to me I wouldn't be turned on. Nope, my vagina would be dryer than the Sahara desert. Right then and there. Instantaneously. THEN I would punch him in the nuts and probably drop some "fuck you's" on him and call him a dick.

Other than that, the book was okay. I read it and finished it but it was just that. Meh! I will admit thought that their relationship was good and almost perfect. They were definitely made for each other it just took me a while to get on board of their ship. I guess I just expected more from these characters or this story?

Let’s just start with staying that this is NOT your standard BDSM romance. About 70% was a D/s relationship and then suddenly the book turned into a suspense/thriller plot.

I am not quite sure what I thought about the book. I can’t critique the writing – it was good. It’s the story I’m not sure about… there’s some parts I like and others that I didn’t :/

The book starts with Piper, which is considered a prude by her friends, playing a drinking game. During this game Piper reveals that she fantasizes about rape RP. She meets Noah at a party and then the two of them agree (after barely knowing each other) to act out her rape fantasy. One date later and she agrees to a 24/7 D/s relationship.

Now this is where my issues with the book started… how can a girl trust somebody that she just met? Trust is something that is earned… you don’t just give to somebody you don’t know. It was extremely sudden.

So, they immediately switch over to high protocol D/s mode and she went from vanilla to hardcore after one date. He means it when he tells her she’s "being my lady on my arm and my slut in my bed part". This book is quite heavy on (consensual) humiliation.

There is somebody that is trying to get Piper to break off her relationship with Noah, but she doesn’t listen. Every attempt of this person is counteracted with her outsmarting him…. for a while. Then things go crazy in the book… it involves violence and non-con rape and lots of drama!

The all important question, do we get our HEA? Yup!

Disclaimer: Moderate BDSM, humiliation, rape RP, non-con rape & violence!

Ok well it kinda is the above.. with MORE... and a thriller/suspense theme towards the end.

While drinking with a few friends. A simple game of "Never have I ever" leads Piper to give an admission of having a rape fantasy.

After a night of drinking Piper asked Noah to fulfill it to her.
They come to an agreement that it will be consensual and he will allow her to back out by leaving her doormat askew to warn her he is in the house.
If she doesn't want to go through with it, don't go inside. If she goes inside he won't stop.

She goes through with it...

They are is D/s relationship.
Noah's brother hates her and tries to buy her off. It doesn't work.

Noah starts training Piper in the world of BDSM.

Then things just go BOOM

 photo shitjustgotreal_zpsb972b7ad.jpg

You'll have to read to find out...

But its basically about fixing things that are broken, and what we do for the person we love most.
as well a sick pyscho brother and ex girlfriend.

OPINION

I do need to say first out that YES this book does have a rape scene.. Well actually it has 2.
One is consensual between Noah and Piper.
The other is with Piper and someone else and is NOT CONSENSUAL.

There is lots of dirty/kinky BDSM sex in this as well the 2 main characters exploring each others lives and falling madly in love.
I liked it for being that little bit different to the others out there.

Great writing had me falling for the characters. and feeling what they were feeling.

I have to start by saying that this book completely blew my mind, it took me on an unexpected journey that I'm sad now because it ended, therefore I'm envious of those who will get to experience it for the first time, so right now you need to GO read this book!!!!There's not much I can say about the story without spoiling for you, except that this two wonderfully written characters Piper and Noah gave each other everything there is to give in the name of love. Who would've thought that when they met at that party and after playing a silly game of Never have I ever, they would learn so much about themselves through sex, lust and pain. They both had rules and boundaries to protect themselves from complications brought on by a relationship, but little did they know that they were both going to be each others saviors in more than one way. The passion and sexual play between Noah and Piper was very intense, and they had a long list of nevers that was fascinating and kept me glued to the story unable to put it down, even in those moments when I really need it to. But this story goes way deeper than just the BDSM, and just when the emotions were at its highest, the story takes on a turn that I wasn't sure I be able to handle, but I hung in there tight and came out winning, Im saying so because of the brilliant ending, which was the perfect conclusion for this story. I was very impress by the writing style and the vocabulary; while it was easy to read, it felt smart and elegant. This was a complex and fascinating novel, I'm so grateful for having experience it, and it will have a high place on my favorites list.

HOLY SHIT....thats what I think about this book, I gave it a 5 stars because it was very well written. I had so many moments where I had to put the book down and breath because some of the part were HOT, some made me cry, and some made me feel like I was punched in the gut. Piper she was a sophiticated Nerd and Noah a rich Hot Dom. She was very quick to have someone else control her sex life.

" As willing as I was to allow myself to be controlled by the self-assured, handsome and all around irresistable man in front of me, I almost needed somebody to stand out in the middle of this one-way-street-to-Yesville-with a gigantic fucking caution sign..."

"Being my lady on my arm and my slut between the sheets"

" I want to be taken. Hard. I dont't want to have a choice. I just want you to show up, grab me, tease the ever loving hell out of me, call me terrible names to make me submit and use my body to enjoy yourself."

A conflicting 3 Stars

I'm not sure what to say about this story. I thought the dialogue was intelligent and it was probably the one aspect I loved about the story. I have to say, it wasn't at all what I was expecting. I neither liked nor disliked Piper and Noah. I just don't think this type of story was my cup of tea. I like sexy stores but this Dom/Sub relationship and the grounds for which they started their relationship didn't sit right with me.

I usually read a book in about two days, give or take, but this book took me almost a week. I wasn't as infested or as interested in finishing this story but I was determined not to abandon it just for the intelligent dialogue alone. I will say it started off promising but then fell short half way through. It did pick up momentum again in the last 30% of the story but it spun completely into a thriller/suspense story which completely threw me off. And I felt true bile forming in my throat when reading some of the scenes and it wasn't a pleasant feeling.

While I enjoy a story with substance and an author who pushes boundaries, Never Have I Ever just wasn't my cup of tea. I give this story a 3 star rating because the writing was on point and I highlighted a lot of the passages because they were thought provoking. But when I read a story where I don't really feel a connection towards the heroine or hero then I can't give it more of a rating. It just wouldn't be fair. I have to relate or feel a connection to the characters I read and that just didn't happen here.

I see a lot of people enjoyed this story and I can see why it is intriguing to some readers. It had an interesting plot with sexy Dom/Sub relationships and if you like that kind of story then I definitely recommend this book.

This book definitely surprised me.
Piper and Noah meet at a mutual friends gathering over a game of 'never have I ever'. They eventually enter into a D/s relationship, and all appears to be going well. I found myself at about 50% through the book going wtf is going to happen for the last half of the book. It's at this point that the story takes a very abrupt detour into the DARK. I was totally shocked. I didn't see it coming. Like at all. It was a bit out of left field but I feel like it worked. The author did a very good job with that portion of the book avoiding unnecessary or unpleasant details.
This is one of the only books I've read recently where I can say liked both the hero and the heroine. Noah was smart, successful, sexy, and sweet. Piper possessed many similar qualities but the characters were different enough that they were complimentary and overly perfect.
I would definitely recommend this book to others with the warning that there is a rape fantasy acted upon in this story and that it gets pretty dark toward the end . That being said if these things are un-appealing to you steer clear of this book.
As this appears to be the only book by this author, I'd be very interested in any future books published in the same/similar genre.

I did not know what to think of this novel when I first started reading it but once I started, I instantly wanted more. I was curious about the main character, Piper, because she seemed to have everything set out and planned out in life. That is, except for actually having any types of relationships. She was seriously an introverted person up until she promised to go to Anya's "I'm finally divorced" party. That's where she meets Noah.

So, the synopsis said BDSM material and it really meant it. This is no 50 shades novel where things are candy coated but a real and raw look into that culture. A major plus (and the reason for the five stars) was that it wasn't just a kinky novel full of porn scenes but was a novel that was seriously well written and had a great plot line to it.

I decided to purchase this novel because it was free that day on Amazon. Looking again today, I notice that it isn't free any longer but even given that fact I would still cough up the dough to purchase this novel. So, what are you waiting for? If you liked In Flight, All In The Blackstone Affair, This Man, or even 50 Shades of Gray then you'll definitely love this novel.

What I expected from this story wasn't delivered. So although it begins with a game that leads to two of her fantasies being completed the book took off in a much darker way than you are led to believe. I dont have any issues with that but the plot became so ridiculous I couldnt understand what August Clearwing was actually trying to achieve.

Is this a fetish story, BDSM, erotica suspense - what is it meant to be? One minute he is Noah the next thing he becomes her "DOM" then he becomes her Master. We go from being a happy bunny to slut mode - whiplash doesn't cover this plot!

Then there is the over-done usage of words - whore, slut, pet, bitch, dear, duckling (yeah) that ended it for me. What started out well - the fantasy scene soon deteriorated into a book that was just dreadful. It was at times cringe worthy.

At 82% it went onto a very different course - exceptionally dark and again I questioned where this was going. The blurb needs to make the reader aware that this goes to a place that some people might not want to read about and a stricter warning should be issued.

"It isn't about the violation. It's about letting go. It's about losing control and letting someone else tell you what to do for a while."

**Deep breath**

Whoa.

I decided to pick this book up because, not only was it free, but I was in the mood for something different. I haven’t read a BDSM book in a while and the blurb of this story did intrigue me. So here I am, in the aftermath of it all. This is my one and only warning to you potential readers: This is NOT an easy read and NOT for everyone. Though this isn’t as dark as some dark erotica I’ve previously read, a couple scenes were pretty tough to read. So fair warning.

“I want to be taken. Hard. I don’t want to have the choice. I just want you to show up, grab me, tease the ever loving hell out of me, call me terrible names to make submit and use my body to enjoy yourself.” ~ Piper

People would probably consider Piper to be prudish and uptight. As an Astrophysicist, it’s kind of a given that she’s smart, bookish and has a good head on her shoulders. So when playing a game of Never Have I Ever, Piper actually admits to having certain fantasy: A fantasy that no prudish, uptight woman like her should be having. With her admission, she catches the attention of Noah Wellington.

There was a virile nature to just being taken and used which struck a chord someplace deep inside. And in that moment I wanted nothing more than to please him, Noah, the man I barely knew.

Noah sees a potential submissive in Piper. He wants nothing more than to make her fantasies come true. Piper and Noah start their relationship with a force. No worries, their relationship was consensual on both parties. Their sexual relationship is intense and very erotic. Piper is willing to be as open as Noah wants her to be and he constantly tests her boundaries. But there’s a part of Noah pasts that still haunts him. He doesn’t do relationships, but with Piper, he’s finding it hard to stop. In fact, he’s very afraid of losing Piper when she finds out.

“You can do anything you want to me and I will accept it gladly because, as long as you want me, I belong to you.” ~Piper

The beginning was a little on the slow side, but once Noah enters the picture, things start to heat up pretty fast. But like all relationships, there are roadblocks. One: Noah’s past. And, two: Noah’s brother, Ethan. OMG. Ethan. He is vile, cruel and evil. I tried to find some good in him, but in the end, what he did was beyond unforgivable. He is certifiably nuts. Just sayin.

All in all, this story is different from your typical BDSM/Master/Submissive stories. It had some twists that I didn’t see coming which made me want to finish the story. As for Noah, he is a lot to take in. He is a good guy in the grand scheme of things and it was nice to see him and Piper have a nice ending, especially after the incident **shivers**. Seriously. Heed my warning in the beginning before diving in. In the end, I thought it was a worthwhile read.

Because of the synopsis and reader warning by the author I thought I was going to be reading a lovely story about a woman exploring and learning what it means to be a submissive and how she and her Dom help each other overcome their pasts. And in the first half of the book that is exactly what happens. Then about half way in, it became very interesting and after a bit more reading I was in shock at the big WTF just happened scenes. To say I was pissed is an understatement. No warning.....just BOOM! But, even after all the WTFs I still really liked the book. It is well written with likeable characters. The only reason it isn't getting 5 stars is because the first half was a bit boring. I even skimmed over a couple of the pages.

It's been a really long time since I read a book that I liked this much! There is no series to wait for to conclude. It just all handled in one neat 400+ package.

To say I would recommend is understated. I really enjoyed the characters. I loved watching both Noah and Piper grow together out of the darkness. My heart ached for Piper with the pain she suffered.

Another thing I liked was at the end of the novel the writer spoke to the reader and hope we were told a good story in light of the genre category. I read this category a lot because there always seems to be a story worth reading about that tends to be better then other genres (in my opinion). The writer did an amazing job at painting the picture. I also learned things I didn't even know existed. Trust me, I looked the stuff up. Fascinating.

I give this book 5 stars. If there was more I could give I totally would. I looked up August to see what other books are available seems this is the first. I hope of many. Could Piper and Noah's story continue? For sure it could but if it didn't I would be fine with that. Just Like 50 shades - glad there was another book, 3 was too many though!

"Piper I want you to listen to me very closely. Not only am I speaking to you as your lover, but also your master now. You please me in everything you do. It is physically impossible for me to be in the same room with you and not touch you. Your very existence gives me an electrical charge of pleasure every day. It's a razor sharp high to my otherwise full and predictable life. Nothing you say in this moment will change my mind about that."

I didn't know what to think when I first got this book because it was free, but let me tell you this book blew me away. It's amazing I recommend this book to everyone. It's only a short review because I actually don't know what to write. I am speechless. What happens to piper actually breaks your heart. let's just say I cried my little heart out for her!

Color me impressed! This was an Amazon freebie when I got it and I would have totally paid for in anyways! It is about Noah and Piper who meet through a mutual friend and play a game of "Never have I ever" which leads to secret desires that come up on Piper's end. Cue Noah who picks up on her fantasies and indulges her in her wildest desire. They then begin their BDSM relationship from there and let me just say...HOT DAMN! The mouth on that Guy...whew! I was fanning myself from the very first scene. It remains a very hot, sexy, sweet relationship up until about 60% and then major things are revealed and it gets very intense. Throw in Noah's older, douchey (I don't care if thats a real word or not, thats what he is) and mean brother Ethan and the plot thickens.

After about 78% something horrible happens to Piper and I was left with that "Kick in the stomach" feeling. I didn't see it coming, but the writer does a great job of painting the picture, but only to a certain extent. After that the story takes on an almost thriller/suspense kind of feel.

I was happy with the ending and was even happier it was NOT a cliffhanger. It ends after the epilogue and I was very satisfied with how the story wrapped up. I look forward to reading more books from this author :)

You know a book deserves five stars when you simply cannot put it down. I was captured, entrapped, in this beautiful world that August Clearwing created. I am in love with Noah, he's my new book boyfriend because although he is flawed he is perfect. I think a book like this one makes us look out ourselves in a different manner, any trials and tribulations we have been through become our main thought as we connect deeply with the characters. I found myself reflecting a lot, especially towards the end. I loved seeing how much stronger the characters were in the epilogue, how even though there were times when I feared the story would not have a happy ever after I still turned the page, completely confounded within this fictional world. I give this book a well deserved five stars because there is no other way to describe the book as pure and utter genius and thought provoking. August Clearwing is clearly a very talented author and Never Have I Ever is an exceptional tale.

This book was shocking and so damn sexy. It started out with Piper getting her fantasy fulfilled by Noah and turned into so much more. Noah was a genuinely sweet guy and a damn good Dom. Their romance was very real to me. They started out as one thing, then the feelings grew and they fell in love. But most importantly (to me anyway) was the sex and it was so, so, soooooo hot. I mean scorching. The sex scenes were really well done. Noah has a beautiful, filthy mouth on him. Courtesy of my friend, Mercedes, I knew things would get weird about half way through. But OMGGGGGGG, I never expected things to take the turn they did. I was sitting here waiting for the other shoe to drop with too good to be true Noah, when I should have been worried about the freaking psychopath in waiting. Piper went through some really traumatic things, but I was glad she decided to reclaim her life after everything was said and done. Really great read.

4.5 stars. This was a unique story. Not at all what I thought it would be going into it. A good basic intro "the lifestyle" without it getting too over the top showy and there were some "new" things that I had never read before! It really was it's own story but along the same lines as FSoG, Up in the Air, etc...but these characters & their story were unique enough to stand apart. Noah was a strong Alpha without being possessive and crazy, he didn't have to be because Piper would have done anything he asked. To her credit, Piper wasn't a dense girl who played games. She knew what she wanted and was a very good student ;)

My only complaint was that some of the details got lost at the end, their was a build up of events that finally caused an explosion but some of the pieces never fell back down. I felt like I was missing something, it sort of fizzed. Overall I still enjoyed it!

With Dom/Sub plotline, typically I either don't get it or skip pages. But the author did a good job of explaining the lifestyle and the journey the leading characters took on. Well-paced plot line and engaging dialogue were dynamic enough to keep me interested in following along.
Though the suspense/violent part of the storyine was intense and emotional, the villian was a miss in my opinion. The psyche behind his action and his hatred toward the hero were not fully explorered. After the terrible incidents( the last 15%), the story lost its momentum a bit. But I did not have any RME or WTH moments. Overall, it is a good read.

Never Have I Ever was a very emotional book to read. I think I ran the whole gamut of feelings. There was happiness, rage disgust, arousal, fear. I'm pretty sure I held my breath for over half the book.

Piper was a strong character who held her head high even with all the horrors that were thrown at her. Noah was a dominating caring romantic at heart. I was very pleased with how the story ended-there were a few times it could've gone a different direction.

I must be totally honest here... This book, the last bit of it at least, thoroughly fucked with my head and my feels. I am not one to read a book about With that being said, I pushed myself through it because I felt that Piper's story was something I was so completely invested in that I needed to see her story, and Noah's, through to the end.

Noah and Piper's love story was something I fell in love with. They were so wonderfully perfect for each other. And seeing them open up for one another the way they did was so refreshing. They just clicked. I'm glad this went from a "rape fantasy" to a dom/sub kind of book. But it was never too much.

And I am more than happy that this book ended up really having a story line. I'm sick of reading erotica books that are just that, only erotica. It was nice to have something to follow and keep me intrested in other than the smut.

This is a hard one for me to put into words what I actually feel about this book. While there were moments of great potential, I just feel like the book fell flat by the end. There were sections were the writing was brilliant but then parts that I was really confused because the story line was just too rushed. I found it to be a little contradictory, and for this reason I really couldn't connect with the characters which resulted in me not really caring what happened to them in the end (and I really hate saying that). I loved the premise, and had really high expectations after reading the first part of the book....I guess the direction it went in just really wasn't my thing.
I didn't hate the book, I just can't say I loved it either sadly.

Piper Minogue is an Astrophysicist and has a lot of control over her life. She finishing her Masters degree and spends most of her time either studying or working at the local observatory. As an introvert, she rarely spends time socializing or going to parties. Pipers best friend insists she come to her Freedom Fest, to celebrate her newly acquired divorce and it’s at his party that everything changes for Piper. She finds herself playing a silly game called Never Have I Ever, where she admits to a secret fantasy that both surprises and shocks her closest friends. It also catches the interest of Noah Wellington, who agrees to help Piper fulfill this fantasy and oh so much more!

Noah is pleasantly surprised that Piper is interested in his BDSM lifestyle. It has been awhile since he has had a submissive that keeps his interest both in and out of the bedroom. He is very eager to train her to be his sub and finds himself falling for her along the way. But Noah’s past haunts and consumes him, and someone is hell bent on making sure Noah is never going to be happy. Events take place that threaten to shred any chance Piper and Noah have at happiness.

“Being my lady on my arm and my slut between the sheets”

I love Piper. She’s smart, sassy, not naïve to her wants and needs, just hasn’t had the opportunity to explore them till Noah. She literally jumps into this sub/dom relationship headfirst. Relinquishing control over anything is new for Piper, but she trusts Noah whole-heartedly and finds herself lost in her desire for him.

Noah is just the right mixture of charming and handsome, and demanding DOM. But his past has him thinking he doesn’t deserve Piper as much as he wants her. Then things out of his control threaten to take her from him whether it’s his choice or not.

This book sure surprised me. It’s definitely not your ordinary BDSM romance. There’s a combination of hot and steamy sex, revenge, blackmail, hate, love, betrayal, violence, murder you name it and it’s in here! I was not expecting some of the series of events at all! Overall I enjoyed it very much!

“Wounds heal. Scars fade. Awful memories can be overwritten with better ones if given the chance. The little imperfections of our psyches become overshadowed by the people whose love we cherish.”

Erotica, by its very nature, is porn with a plot….My hope, however, is that I was able to weave the plot into the porn well enough for you to take something more away from these pages than just another trashy stroke novel. – August Clearwing

From the beginning of this book to the end, Piper and Noah go through several transitions which I loved seeing even if some were extremely frustrating. I truly felt the emotions of both of these characters as they fumbled their way through life and into the arms of each other. The way this book plays out works really well. You get the eroticism as well as a great suspense/thriller storyline. So, in the end Ms. Clearwing I walked away with more than just a porn book…your characters meant something to me…because I genuinely fell in love Noah and Piper.

Not an easy read! It has a basic d/s plot but the twists and turns it takes will leave you shuddering. Piper is a braniac hermit who doesn't have a time for a life. Her friend Anya drags her to a party where they play the game "never have i ever". She admits to a certain fantasy that shocks everyone. Noah is in attendance and sets out to make her fantasy come true. I really enjoyed their relationship. She wanted so desperately to love him but he made it really difficult to do. Once his walls come down, tragedy strikes in a big way. That scene was difficult for me. By the time I got to it, I was so emotionally invested in these two that I could barely read it. I really had to skim through it because it was so brutal. Not leaving any spoilers just suffice it to say that I recommend it. It is not a light feel good story but there is a HEA.
