"This book gives new meaning to the word OUTRAGEOUS! It's so totally off-the-wall while at the same time so unputdownable that it blew my creative doors off. The whole time I was reading it I was PISSED that I hadn't thought of it."
--EDWARD LEE, author of HAUNTER OF THE THRESHOLD and HEADER

Bigfoot is real and he's addicted to meth!

It should have been so easy. Get in, kill everyone, and take all the money and drugs. That was Russell and Mickey's plan. But the drug den they were raiding in the middle of the woods holds a dark secret chained up in the basement. A beast filled with rage and methamphetamine and tonight it will break loose.

Nothing can stop a sasquatch on a drug-fueled rampage. And before the sun rises, there is going to be a lot of dead cops and junkies.

3.5 stars, I think

Bigfoot Crank Stomp. The name is very appropriate. Drugs, Sex, Blood, Rape, Murder (additional TW's: Fire, homophobia, some ableist wording, misogyny, golden shower, over-all grossness).

Bigfoot's addicted to meth because some idjits decided to drop out of school to make a living dealing meth. And because they knew there were other meth dealers that would see them as competition, I guess they got the bigfoot as protection? Bigfoot was chained in their cellar. I mean the door was chained so he couldn't get out.

You already know if this is something you want to pick up or not. If you are thinking "that sounds interesting" or whatever, pick it up. If not, stay away. It's really that simple.

That said, personally, I found it enjoyable. I wasn't sure all the way through but the assholes were openly called assholes so I didn't see it as their behavior was ok. They were just fucking assholes. Was it perfect? No. But over-all I did like it.

It mentioned some things that I really did appreciate. "This wasn't the time to be hiding things because they were horrendous" "You always have a choice".

I felt awful for Russell, with why he was dealing meth as well as he did not deserve what he got. It does say that though. But the assholes got what they deserved so there is that.

It was an interesting and...wild ride. And I didn't hate it. Not a new favorite but I don't regret that I read it either.

Forget Cocaine Bear. Give me a meth-addicted Bigfoot any day. A brutal, wild ride. Two big hairy thumbs up.

"Holy shit, it fucking killed Jimmy."

Let the Bigfoot games begin.

This was a very good and bloody depraved read from Erik Williams. I am neither surprised nor embarrassed that I really liked this one. If you even have an inkling that you want to read this one, don’t wait, do it. I can already tell you that you will like it. There is something to be said for a reader that sees the title Bigfoot Crank Stomp and thinks, “Yeah! This sounds f’n great.” BCS delivers exactly what I had expected it to and then some.

Solid writing and crazy blood drenched mayhem. Solid 4+ Stars!

Thanks to my friend Nikki for the ebook! You are the bestest :) 

Thanks for lendle, Bill!

4+ This was like Edward Lee, Bryan Smith, and Jeff Strand all at the same time so if you dig those authors, you should be all over this one.

You've read the title. You've seen the cover. Do you really need any more information to make a decision?

OK, suppose after watching "Breaking Bad" you and some of your buddies decide that getting rich from cooking meth might be do-able. After all if those ijits on T.V. can do it, how hard can it be - so let's convert the garage into a lab.

The house is located in the northern California back woods with only a few neighbors around, however, this cooking meth thing seems to have caught on and rival low life's surely will want to steel our home made crank.

The simple solution is to capture a Bigfoot or Sasquatch put him in the cellar and keep the some-bitch higher than a kite to keep him in control.

Then imagine this, things go wrong.

Lots of blood, guts and gore, fifty shades of sex, and hilarious twists and turns including some whacked out amateur porn stars and good ole boy cops make for a fast moving story.

If you look at this book and wonder, "Does a tweaked-out Bigfoot fuck a meth whore to death in this book?", the answer is, yes. Yes he does.

Bigfoot's addicted and
has the strength of many men.
If he smells it on you,
he'll break you in two.
This ten-foot monster
don't give a fu*k about you.

The police are not smart.
They want to mount his head.
The sheriff is killing people,
like he's been sniffing instead.
He's got this guy bent over with a gun at his head.
He's raping as the deputy's hold him so they don't get dead.

A porno movie is getting made,
there's even a scene of a golden shower.
We don't need to wait.
They'll be dead in an hour.

They all need a taste of that crank, that powder.
It's the Bigfoot Crank Stomp. It's party hour!

An entertaining drug/sex/blood-fest of despicable proportions. To be read when your mind is open to anything.

A fun concept (think Cocaine Bear but with a Bigfoot and meth) and some good characters keep this chugging along, but I didn’t like it quite as much as I expected to. Too much (often nasty) sex and not enough violence gave it a grungy feel I didn’t vibe with.

I would recommend Bigfoot Crank Stomp for those who are Bigfoot enthusiasts and who don't mind
irreverent humor.

This is narrated in a realistic, as-it-happens, style. So, we never get too many explanations of how things came to be the way they are. If you looking for an in-depth history of Bigfoots and their relation to substance abuse, you will not find it here and will be forced to look elsewhere. I suggest Bigfoot: His Inner Mysterious, His Triumphs, His Xanax Struggles by Harry and The Hendersons.

There is not too much consideration of what Bigfoot's motivation is, or his back story. There is a good deal of suspense and character development leading up to the Bigfoot action and mayhem. The story reminds me of an Alfred Hitchcock film in that I found myself constantly expectant for something to happen.

Based on the title, I wanted more of a whacky and surreal approach. However, like I mentioned, if you prefer the eyes-on-the-ground approach, this one is for you.

It does deliver the goods as the ending nears. Bigfoot kicks ass. He stomps. He smokes meth. (Say no to drugs, kids). 4 Stars.

Pretty engaging action scenes with points where I could really get into the story; however the dialogue was mediocre and quite campy at time - even though some campiness was both expected and almost required - but with no finesse. There were more than a handful of sloppy editing mistakes which kept pulling me out. So annoying! Grr.

The ending with the remaining characters (no spoilers, don't worry) felt rushed and tired. And with a topic of a Bigfoot high on meth, I was hoping for more comic relief and less drab background of meth head lifestyle. Disappointing and certainly did not live up to its potential. All in all I'd average it slightly less than 3 stars.

Based on the average score here and on Amazon I appear to be in the minority. What am I missing?

This book had me at "Crystal Meth addicted Bigfoot", I was sold hole-heartedly. It's a shame that it couldn't keep me. This is an idea with such a wealth of possibilities, told with such an underwhelming delivery.

It's not really the tale of Bigfoot on Meth, it's the tale of amateur crystal meth cookers (that just happen to have a Sasquatch chained in the basement), the long time cookers who feel they have a claim on the territory, and the dirty county sheriff with issues and personal demons. There are a handful of other characters that don't bring anything to the table, other than filler; the ex-military man trying to live off the grid, the jilted lover camping by herself, the amateur porn trio filming their latest opus.

It's not until the Sheriff gets involved that the book picks up. He has problems and when he gets a taste of meth he goes off the rails crazysauce. Forget the meth dealers, he wants bigfoot! And anyone who gets in his way.... well, you know.

But that momentum is crushed quickly. If you come up with the brilliant idea of a meth addicted Bigfoot, and your most imaginative scene is Bigfoot in a drug-fuled-rage raping a porn star to death, then you are not trying hard enough, or maybe you are trying too hard.

This scene (the entire book for that matter) may appeal to a certain audience. I am not that target audience. And it's not the only rape scene in the book. There is the Sheriff in a drug-fuled-rage raping his captive to immobility. Such range of creativity.

Williams could have removed Bigfoot altogether and could have had.... well maybe not a better book but a less distracted book. At least I would have gone in with lowered expectations. Truth be told I wouldn't have gone in at all as methed-out Sasquatch is this book's only draw.

Unless you are into hella typo's.

I was debating between a four and a five star on this one but the epilogue made up my mind on a five star. it was a fun and entertaining read with lots of blood and meth and sex and head stomping. $5 was a bit much for a digital novella but I enjoyed it.

If you read only one book this year about a meth-addicted Bigfoot tearing his way through the population of an out-of-the-way wooded area with just enough residents to provide a respectable body count, well, you need to broaden your horizons. Still, this would be a great place to start. Plus, when your friends start talking about how "fucked up" the latest trendy horror import is, you can roll your eyes and feel superior, because you ain't never gonna see bloody action like this at the local Cineplex. It starts off strong with, yes, a Bigfoot Crank Stomp, and doesn't let up, ever. Special Bonus: after reading this, you will be equipped to imagine much better endings to those "Messin' with Sasquatch" commercials.

Ups and downs, but it finishes pretty strong.

There were a few things that kinda’ rubbed me the wrong way with this book.

First, the writing could be smoother. It’s not ‘bad’, but it’s kind of clunky. Little things, like two totally unconnected characters named Stanger and Pronger... I dunno’. In general Williams doesn’t score very high in the style category. Again, it’s not really bad, just not impressive.

Second, for this style of book (extreme horror/splatterpunk), the violence is pretty mild throughout the majority of the story. It gets respectably gnarly toward the end, but it takes it’s time getting there. Again, not an objectively bad thing, but, also, not exactly what I was hoping for. It’s certainly not even in the same league as guys like Edward Lee in terms of raw depravity. Nevertheless, I’m not trying to steer readers away. The truth is that I did end up enjoying it quite a bit. I just want you to know what you are signing up for.

Finally, as a veteran myself, I was badly turned off by all of the military jargon and ‘ooh-rah’ style content. It’s just typical for a vet to inject their military experience into everything they do. It’s standard, and I get why people do it, but it gets old. People have a habit of incorporating the soldier/sailor/marine motif into their actual personalities on a level that I find, frankly, kind of pathetic—like whoever they were before the military was so inadequate that they are better off with the identity that the military gave them.

Agree or disagree, this was my impression. If there is anything cringier than a civilian trying to write about the military, it is a vet trying to leverage there military experience to make their writing more interesting.

Up to this point, I have been kind of harsh, but take it with a grain of salt. I’m just venting a bit. The book is really not bad. It’s nothing special, but it’s also not a major time investment. It’s an easy, cheesy piece of junk-food, but it tastes okay. Overall, it’s worth the time. I would actually recommend it.

A staple of the Weird in fiction is taking a batshit insane idea and making a good story out of it. And this is what Erik Williams has done here. Bigfoot gets addicted to meth? Yes, sure. And add two lots of drug dealers, a corrupt sheriff, an amateur porn-maker, and a shellshocked Marine who's retreated to the woods, and you have an engaging short novel. Unlike others I didn't find it gratuitously violent although with that situation it is going to be bloody. I do wonder if Bigfoot would want to have sex with a human female any more than a human would want to have sex with a monkey, but maybe that's meth for you. Maybe Bigfoot is actually a relict human, a tribe living in the deep forests, and not an ape (any more than we all are).
I wondered if Persephone (significant name that) is going to be a character in other books by this author as she is a bit of a chess-piece at the moment but could be made more of.
All in all, a book whose reviews made me think I wasn't going to enjoy it, but I did.

Fun little book about a bunch of crazy characters. Great setting, the woods are always nice, great eclectic crew, good action and gore, all in the name of good fun of course. I am glad the author did not turn Bigfoot into a ridiculous character in the story, instead he gave it adequate natural attributes. And also he did not overuse this fluffy and violent character-the story comes through from different character angles, well done. A pretty unique extreme horror story. I enjoyed it and I recommend it.

I'm smiling ear to ear. This is probably the craziest story I've ever read.
Bigfoot is real and hooked to Crank... How bizarre.
Enjoyed this crazy ride. This book is like a punk song, starts with a high energy riff, goes on at an incredible pace and then ends with a bang.

Fast paced, bizarre with larger than life characters when anything goes, my type of book. And for the most part it was a great read. Starts off at 100mph and straight into the grit, what let it down for me for a 5 star was the latter half seemed rushed rather than fast paced. Between 3.5 - 4 stars.

When I saw the title of this book I could barely contain my excitement. After all it combines two of my favorite horror subjects; Bigfoot and small town backwoods people. There is also the minor detail that Bigfoot just happens to be addicted to meth. I mean how terrifying is it to picture being chased by a large and legendary monster going through violent drug withdrawals? Add in feuding drug dealers, an angry and psychotic sheriff, some amateur porn stars, and a few unlucky people who just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and you have a story that promises to be a wild and fun ride. Of course when all of these characters meet violence and mayhem ensues... think a large and violent tornado with a meth addicted Bigfoot at its center. The only question is whether any one will survive this meth fueled hurricane. I don’t want to give away too many more details, but suffice to say you will not be disappointed.

This story builds on an original and outrageous idea and Erik Williams’s fast paced prose make it a book you will have to read in one sitting. When I reached the final pages of this story all I could say was “Wow”. I feel very fortunate to have been able to read a review copy of this book, and I cannot recommend it highly enough!

just a quick note, this book was was your middle of the road book for me, it was certainly a unique idea and very bizarre in its own right, I mean you can't get more original than a bigfoot addicted to crack! But for me due to it only being just over 150 pages it felt very rushed and the action while for the first half was decent, the second half was just way too rushed and ended up skimming quite a bit, also with all the different characters it made my head dizzy and struggled to remember who was who? who was doing what... maybe that's just my personal capabilities, maybe I just couldn't handle that amount of characters all fighting for the spotlight and their time to shine. I could see this being a humorous dark comedy movie that or a really bad horror B-Movie and tbh I would probably watch it, I think the characters and direction would be more clearer and they would be able to flesh everything out and make it less muddled. But it was a fun quick little read for me, not bad, but nothing spectacular either.

Before getting this novel I'd never read anything by Erik Williams; and will admit to not being too interested in any story which contains bigfoot - but am I pleased that I read this book else I would have missed out on a real fun story.

The story follows a couple of small town drug dealers who go up to a rivals cabin to put them out of business, only to find they have a meth addicted bigfoot locked up in the basement. Add in a psychotic sheriff and some amateur porn stars and you have an interesting and varied story.

There is a good mix of good and bad characters, each very different from each other and putting those with an unpredictable bigfoot makes the whole story interesting from start to finish. The whole thing is fast paced and makes this a real page turner. It's really made me to take more risks when picking books - otherwise risking missing hidden gems this this one.

The novel was received in exchange for an honest review.
