Just a Little #5

Just a Little Insecurity

Rate this book
We were doing each other a service; I’d spy on her boyfriend, she’d spy on mine.

Everything is not what it seems, and seventeen-year-old Julie is learning that lesson the hard way. Matt is lying through his teeth at every given opportunity, and Julie believes there’s more to his secrecy than meets the eye; she’s convinced her cousin is cheating on Kara. And Matt is the least of her worries. Luke has been just as dodgy; he comes and goes as he pleases, ignores her calls, and is caught sneaking around with one of Oakland’s newest—and undeniably beautiful—residents.

With no real certainties in her life, Julie enlists the help of a friend to help her expose the truth… no matter what it may cost them in the end.

2.5 Estrellas!

Seriously?? Are you kidding me right now??

Don't get me wrong...I love this series. But really... The ending? What's up with that? Why? Why do this to us? When does the next one come out? I need it like, right now!

Trata fatal a Julie.

But his gift felt less like a grand gesture of love, and more like a way to remove every last remnant of Derek’s time in Oakland.

A ver, a ver.

He wasn’t running from this girl; he was comfortable with her.
He was… happy.

Ok. I don't like the ending of this part. So many questions left. And Luke? Really? If...just if, that Luke just like what Julie and Matt thought, well...I have to say, that's such a big disappointment. At least, for me. After finished reading about Alex and Steph and very satisfied with the ending, I'm hoping the same thing for Luke and Julie. So, pleaseeeee....tell me, it wasn't true, the whole secrets about Luke. So can't wait for the next part. When will it comes out?

This book was about Julie being suspicious that Luke was cheating on her, and Matt was cheating on his girlfriend Kara. Apparently Matt saying that he didn’t want to be a chef anymore was most annoying to her because she expected him to cook her dinner! We got some spying, and some assumptions which are bound to be wrong. Pretty much the muchness for Julie. We were also treated to a cliff-hanger ending.

I take it back. I DO NOT love Luke... why does he keep making her suffer? The one having a 'teenage drama' is him not Julie..

I decided to read this book because I really like the series of all the books written by Tracie Puckett because they are fun to read and really interesting.

On the bingo board this book comes under 'a book with themes related to those we've studied in class- theme two'. This book goes in this category as it relates to themes from the movie Pride and Prejudice such as family and love. These two themes, as examples, connect both this book and the movie P & P together as they are both very prominent themes within both. This makes it interesting as it shows that two quite different things can be related in a different way.

My favourite quote from this book is when Matt- Julie's cousin- says, “Do you think it’s possible?” he asked, almost in shock. “Does… does Luke have a daughter?”. This is my favourite quote because it is the very last line in the book and it left me hanging, I really wanted to read the next book to see what was going to happen and I liked how the book did that.

Something new that I have learnt from this book is to not judge things from what you first see because it can be wrong and it can hurt people. I learnt this as it is what the book is about as that is what Julie did to Luke.

A character in this book that was interesting to me was Julie. This is because the way she acted in the situation she was in. She didn't handle that situation very well which made her character interesting.

UGH WHY?!?! Hate cliffhangers like that! ):

Anyways this is what I want to happen in the upcoming books...

Julie finally tells Luke to fuck off, which I hope breaks his heart and puts him in a crazy depression... then Julie will go and find Derek and live happily ever after with him.

I seriously CANNOT stand Luke. He is completely manipulative and controlling to Julie and I feel like he is seriously making her become mentally insane. HE is not healthy for her, granted Derek wouldn't be much healthier, but at least he was nice to her and showed he appreciated her!

Hate Luke SO much! ):<

Although I don't like Luke...at all, I do enjoy this series! It's becoming pretty addictive. Can't wait to get book 6! (:

After Webster Grove I wanted to read more from Tracie Puckett. Here the rating will be for the overall series since I can't remember which installment I preferred or why.

I found the Webster Grove characters had somehow more depth. Had I read the Just a Little series first, I may have rated it higher. For me there was too much on again, off again thing going on between the main characters. And the uncle who started nice became quite annoying.

That being said it's still a nice read and a good way to cheer up one's mood.

I think this was one of the hardest books for me to read throughout the series. It was such a page turner, not knowing what Luke was lying about and if Julie was being a little insecure...which is what this is the perfect name for #5 in the series! Excellent series!!!!
