These are no ordinary princesses-they're Rescue Princesses!
Northernland is the snowiest kingdom the Rescue Princesses have ever visited. They are delighted to go sledding, drink hot cocoa, and make friends with the girl who lives there, Princess Freya.
When Princess Freya's mischievous kitten goes missing, the princesses leap into action. They have to find the kitten-even if it means letting Freya in on their Rescue Princess secret.
Princess Freya meets her new friends Emily, Clarabel, Jaminta and Lulu, who are Rescue Princesses and living in different kingdoms. When Freya's cat, Minky messed up and got lost, she and the girls are to show their "ninja moves" and save her. The finale was very surprising as the girls tell their good news.
I thought this was a boring story, but it is very good. Suitable for Grades 1-3 students who are interested in princesses, animals, or both.
Not exactly my favorite book in this series , I mean what was the big rescue saving a kitten from a tree?Where was all the ninja moves and having to go out at night and creep around. This is just my opinion.
I like this book but its not one of my faverites. Atcualy but this is not like the best books. My faverite charcter in this book is probley Emily shes like the best charcters. I also like the cat and the bird they remind me of Joey and Raberda my cat and chicken.
This book was OK.I think I am going to stop reading from this series now as they kind of bore me as I am an older reader but I would recommend for all young readers tho.

Three cheers for the Rescue Princesses! My granddaughter had received her first Rescue Princess book in a bag of books from her cousin and now she's hooked! Hence my purchase of book #5, The Snow Jewel. You don't have to read the series in order--my granddaughter is picking them by the cover--which is fine--the covers are adorable! Paula Harrison knows the way to a little girl's heart--through stories of animals who need help, and wonderfully soft-hearted princesses who are not spoiled but care so very much to rescue them--using their ninja moves of course!
In this story, poor Princess Freya has a problem--her father, King Eric, has a houseful of royal guests and one ornery kitten named, Minky. King Eric insists that the mommy cat and all the kittens are sent to the shed--enter the Rescue Princesses, Clarabell, Jaminta, Emily and Lulu! Of course Freya doesn't know that they are Rescue Princesses--she doesn't even know what that means, but she's about to find out and possibly become one!
Paula Harrison writes a wonderful story! I highly recommend this series for your daughters, granddaughters and nieces that you spend time reading to or with--they will LOVE the Rescue Princesses! 5 STARS!
For girls who love princesses and animals, this is a perfect read. I started with this book, which was not a very good idea because I think I needed to know first how the Rescue Princesses were formed.
Anyway, as a parent, I flinched when the princesses went against the king's instructions although there was logic in their actions. I wished they would let the father see it first. I also didn't like that one of the girls promised that she will do something, and didn't do it the next morning.
Despite those, I loved the vivid descriptions that I imagined the snowy scenes, the dresses and tiaras. But, of course, there were some clues from the illustrations. I kind of want to get the rest of the series.
Freya is going to become a rescue princess. Soon her kitten Minky gets lost and Freya wants to go quickly and find it. The other rescue princesses agree to help. When they find he she is stuck in a tree. How will they get her down? Well, they get her down by... All the rescue princesses are going to a princess school so now it is Emily's little sister Lottie who can be a rescue princess and do their job.
