Um livro emocionante. Muito bem escrito, muito eloquente e pertinente, a tradução também foi esmerada. Não fossem dois pequenos erros (do autor? do tradutor?), seria perfeito. O autor, um entusiasta desta batalha, certamente, desenha todo o percurso, as emoções, as linhas de abastecimento, com um pormenor invejável mas nada maçador. Sendo uma das principais batalhas da guerra civil que opôs César à República Romana moribunda (e as seu Senado deslocado), não foi a última e o futuro ditador ainda teria de lutar em mais 2 continentes antes de dar por terminada a sua tarefa. Até isto o autor nos conta. Parabéns!

A very concise and good history of the civil war that erupted between Julius Caesar and Pompey. Tells the epic tale well and then gets down to what happened at this big battle. Also does a good job of tying it into events occurring afterward. I enjoyed it a lot.

Usual solid effort from Osprey. Ancient battle history requires speculation and Sheppard documents his conclusions about motives and tactics rather well.
