“Can I take it from your reaction that I have convinced you to forgive me,” Cullen asked seductively pulling away from Grace’s lips, sending a shock wave of pleasure jolting through her. He was so sure and confident in his ability to melt the object of his attention.
“Forgive you? No, Marshal McKinnon, I just wanted you to have a taste of what you can never have.”

In this third installment of The McKinnon Legends, we see Cullen McKinnon, Brother to the Seventh Duke of Seabridge deeply entrenched in a tale of murder, assassination attempts, and the mystery of who is Gray Martin.

Cullen is used to having his way with women. He treats them well and respectfully, not that it matters. Most of these ultra-easy conquests mean nothing to him. The personification of sin itself in a pair of Wranglers, Cullen is well connected socially, politically, and physically. He is all about control when it comes to his professional life. As a U.S. Marshal based out of San Antonio, Texas, he has to be in control. That goes double for his love life and control in that arena is easy. There is zero risk of him loosing his head over a woman, because his heart already belongs to his brother’s wife. And he has certainly come to terms with the fact that Morgan is certainly a woman he can never have, ever. Immortalizing her, he remains comfortable in unrequited love. It is just easier then letting it go.

As a lawman, Cullen is naturally suspicious. When he contracts with Amazing Grace Genealogy Services to locate any record of his long lost nephew, Decklyn McKinnon suspicion raises the longer he works with the company’s representative. Something about Gray Martin peaks his interest. Unable to leave well enough alone, Cullen inadvertently blows Grace’s cover exposing her to the assassin she has been on the run from for the past three years.

Cullen has a decision to make, but is he prepared to let the ghost of Morgan go?

I'm reviewing the series as a whole as I found them a really good read. The story flowed at an amazing pace, the characters realistic and each book although a story on their own referred to characters from the other books.
Although the series is classed as a time travel story it is only at the end of the first book that we see any time travel.

Cullen, now stuck in the 21st century must deal with his new life as a US Marshall and this tale is how he deals with Grace, a mafia princess on the run and how they get together
She, on the other hand does not actually want to be found as she is running from an assassin!
Great read!!

book three in the McKinnon legends.

this book tell of Grace and Cullen. pulled forward from 1494 to 1994 to save his life, Cullen cannot go back as he does not have the time travel gift. he has made a life for himself as a US marshall. the archives maintained by the McKinnon family for 500 years has kept him going, keeping his family alive for him.
Grace is running, and has been, for 3 years. her father and husband were murdered and thye think she killed them.
Grace's path crosses with Cullen and, quite literaly, all hell breaks loose!

there is much the same in this book, as the first two, but also much different. still, the McKinnon men are stubborn when it comes to expressing their feelings and making their feelings understood. the first two books were based in the 16th century, this one, in the 20th.

i love how the auther is laying down the footwork for the next books, this one talks of a missing child of Nic and Morgan. book 5 that is!

i wi11 miss these boys when they are finished, i have 5 and there will be, i believe 8 altogether.

Story was good, although I wonder if any of the Ranay James's characters in her upcoming books will ever have a real courtship/wedding and not have the man secretly marry them without their knowledge. It didn't really make sense to me as to why Grace would run after the killings instead of going to the police, but then we wouldn't have a story now would we? ;) I was entertained, glad the Cullen got is HEA after Morgan. Looking forward to reading about Gage.

This book is the 3rd in the series and all about Cullen McKinnon. Cullen is not a time traveler so he is stuck in present day 20th century time. Having traveled here through time he is a bit stuck in the past and having a hard time accepting love when it comes knocking at his door. Romantic, mystical and only 0.99 on kindle I am highly enjoying this series. I love how each book is focused on a new set of characters but from the same family. Renay James has a new fan!

I think looking back that Cullen for some reason was my favorite from this series. Maybe it's the never having been the "golden boy" of the family and having to adapt. I don't love the treatment of domestic violence shelters and running roughshod over the women in them, but overall enjoyed the story.

Finally the author changed up the plot! after the first two books which read as carbon copies with he names changed I was really hoping this one would be different. She left it wide open for a fourth book but changed the plot enough to keep it interesting. Avidly waiting for #4.

Story lines are becoming completely predictable at this point. I read the synopsis of the next book and now it seems she is going to throw a strange twist in. We shall see.

This historical fiction is really well done. The description can be a little long winded. But, the story is good and well driven. Chemistry is good and mostly really good.

Good story.

I liked this book. Was a little drawn out but kept me interested. I like the continuing theme from one book to the next.

The best of the three books.....at least you think there's only three. There's more continuing with the American McKinnons!
