Suositellaan yli 13-vuotiaille.
Yuna Kagesaki (影崎 由那 Kagesaki Yuna ) is a manga artist, born on March 3, 1973 , best known for being the author of the manga Chibi Vampire. Her work has been published under four different names: Yuna Kagesaki (影崎 由那 Kagesaki Yuna) (professionally published non-pornographic comics, except for Sakura no Ichiban), Yuna Kagezaki (影崎 由那 Kagezaki Yuna?) (same characters but different readings; only in Taishō Komachi Jikenchō Sakura no Ichiban!) Yūna Kagesaki (影崎 夕那 Kagesaki Yūna) (spelled with different kanji) when drawing CG's for PC games, and Yuta Kageyama (影山 由多 Kageyama Yuta) when drawing hentai manga or HCG's for PC games. Her real name is presumedly Keya, as she calls herself in the bonus comic strips at the end of volume 3 of her work Hekikai no AiON. In middle school she was a member of the brass band.
At first I was disappointed to see an entire book about Anju. Don't get me wrong, I like her quite a bit. By the end of the book though, I was in tears and thinking how utterly perfect it is, and how carefully this sets up the last books in the series. Wonderful wonderful book!
As Karin, our favorite chibi vampire, deals with the newly revealed defects of her own body and now knows that children born between a human and vampire are sterile, she is struggling with how it effect her relationship with Kenta in the future.
Meanwhile, her younger sister, Anju is facing her own set of problems. Anju has always been weak to sunlight but her aversion seems to be getting stronger. Could this mean she's close to becoming a fully awakened vampire? And how will Karin react to her baby sister becoming an adult vampire and being unable to go out in the day to help her? Will this change the relationship between the close sisters?
I loved seeing Anju needing help from her big sister Karin this volume as Anju had to say goodbye for her life in the works of daylight as she became a full vampire. It was great seeing a more sensitive side to Anju as she even seemed sad to say goodbye to her human friends. We also saw that while Karin is seen as a “defective” vampire for being able to bare sunlight and not requiring to drink blood but give it, it shows that sometimes your “problems” may be what someone else would view as a good thing.
I'm not even lying when I say I've been waiting for this volume for so long because Anju is my favorite in the series and as it is this is the most screen time I remember her having and its just all angst.
She loves her sister so much that she wanted to force herself to have more time with her, but she couldn't and the tragedy of it lies in them both wanting to spend so much time with each other but living in two different worlds. They love each other so much that it's honestly heartbreaking that now they can't have their shared times and if what I remember of the ending is right it's even worse so just, rip us and all of our emotions.
Hallelujah! I remember Anju’s reaction at the end! I did read this series! (๑ó⌓ò๑) Seriously, I was beginning to think that I only read the first volume….
Anju reaches maturity as a vampire earlier than expected! I didn't think she'd be so upset to leave the human world but this really goes to show she has emotions and loves her sister dearly.
Volume 11 focuses on Anju and what it means to awaken as a vampire. I really connected with the youngest Maaka for the first time in this volume. I found it really interesting to see Karin transform from the one who needs protecting to the one doing the protecting. Her relationship with Kenta still seems to be going well and I think that's giving her more confidence in her own abilities. I'm curious to see how she'll react to being alone during the daylight.
Anju's blood preference for loneliness was an inspired choice. It gives some insight into what fuels the blood preferences of the other members of her family. I think this volume answered a lot of questions about how Kagesaki sees the vampire myths in her creation.

As Karin deals with the newly revealed defects of her own body and how long it will affect her relationship with Kenta, Anju is facing her own set of problems. Anju has always been weak to the sunlight but her aversion seems to be getting stronger. Could this mean she's getting closer to becoming a fully awakened vampire? How will Karin react when she finds out? And will it tear apart the friendly sisters forever?
This volume was very suspenseful, and I finished it the some day I bought it. Anju awakes as a vampire early, and goes through a lot. I can't wait to see what this series leads up to when the final volume (14) is released.
Though Anju up to this point has projected a cold, hard, mature exterior, in this volume we begin to see that she is not as detached from the human world as she tries to seem. When a vampire awakens, they, by necessity, have to leave the daylight world of the humans. In my mind, Anju has been steeling herself against this day her entire life, trying to keep classmates at arms length hoping that it will lessen the pain when she has to leave them. Anju discovers she cares for them more than she thought and her awakening is heartbreaking.
Anjou is growing up -- a scary time indeed! The story was both cute and a little sad. Getting older means changes for everyone, and not all are welcome. Makes me reflect on my own life and how things are going (or not :-).
Didn't like this volume as much as the others. I don't mind Anju that much. I just find her annoying most of the time, always snooping on her sister. And now with her she seems even more bleh.
Quick thoughts: Great installment. Anju takes center stage and the entire volume is dedicated to letting her story properly unfold. Big consequences for Karin's family life.
