Admittedly, I enjoyed her Southern Belle Primer more, this being, in many ways, much more dated, so it would not resonate as well with a younger reader -someone who doesn't remember a president before Obama; although Trump was mentioned once in passing - but I still thoroughly enjoyed the book. I could still make connections to my own sorority experience - albeit in California, at a school where Kappa Kappa Gamma was not among our options - to my short time - four years - living in the south, in New Orleans, and to my two friends who participated in pageants in California, one whose daughter participates in Texas pageants.

A lot of the book is dated, it deals with the campaign of Bill Clinton for President. Parts are skimmable & some just skippable. I enjoyed her first book more, it was more timeless.

Just a fun and fast read (book from 1996 so has dated references) about how the South is changing in ways such as marriage, last names, sterling vs. silverplate, etc. Pretty funny.
