InStyle is an American monthly womens fashion magazine founded in 1994.
It is owned by People Inc., and started originally as a brand extension of People before carving out its own identity. In February 2022, it was announced that InStyle would cease print publications and move to a digital-only format.
This book provides a lot of information about beauty, both makeup and beauty care. It breaks down every single type of products available in the market and what or who it's suitable for.
At first I thought it was all about makeup, but I'm wrong. This book provides information about skin care and even body care products as well. Love it!
Not horrible. Gave me some things to think about. Disappointed at the constant recommendations of highly toxic products that Environmental Working Group tells me to stay away from, as well as the plastic surgery bent (basically 'it's not for everyone, but you should totally do it!'). I get that it's InStyle which is totally a celeb-worship magazine, but I do wish they'd occasionally used pictures of regular people instead of people who are PAID to be beautiful and have every advantage known to man... would have also liked to have seen a few 'before and afters' because they claim miracles from various products but then show, say, Kate Hudson, who is flawless anyway, all made up. Sigh.
My sister especially loved this book. I think its good that they have celebrity pictures in there. Anyone can compare them selves with a world's great looking people and fin something in common and use bits and pieces of their style.
A cut above Sephora's book, which is only a buying manual. Getting Gorgeous holds tips as well as displaying a variety of products in different price ranges.
