Chloe and Kylus . . .

Chloe is a human who had been kidnapped and escaped. She ends up working on a luxury cruise ship that goes to all sorts of planets for her to see. The food is good and they pay her well. But what she didn’t anticipate was the pirates! Fortunately, an alien Tallean mercenary, Kylus, has decided to be her protector. Does he want more than that, however? Has he finally found his mate? And is she willing to consider becoming his?

I loved the characters in this story. Their dialog and interaction with each other is terrific. He will do anything to keep her safe. Will she realize that she can trust him fully?

A fun and hot story about a space Pirate that takes a forced vacation and a human server that used to be a slave. When other Pirates take the Cruise they have to Run or tudo Chloe being Taken as a slave again. It began as just keeping her safe but as time passes things Change and now there could be so much more... Só hot!

Sometime in the future, when Earth is conquered by space aliens and put under the control of the Dominion, humans are enslaved and seek to escape to a safe environment. Like we have cruise ships on the oceans today, the future portrayed in this story uses space cruisers for the same purpose. They possess luxurious accommodations, green room environments that can resemble most any landscape, and various entertainments, including non-lethal fighting. Kylus is a renowned Tallean fighter who has earned his reputation honestly, through training and hard work. He is also a mercenary who hires out for various types of dangerous missions for pay.....substantial pay. While he deserves a break, he doesn't believe in vacations, but his crewmates con him into one on the Star Beauty cruiser. There he meets Chloe, a human female working in the bar as a waitress. While he had always hoped to find his soulmate like most of his friends and crewmates, he never had, until this beautiful human female's scent filled his nostrils. It was instantaneous. He had to have her. She, on the other hand, being human, had no such mate drive, but she was familiar with that alien emotion, and Talleans were certainly an attractive race. When she waited on Kylus and his friend Zeylum and his mate Ashe, she too felt a little tingle and watched Kylus in her peripheral vision while she waited to fill their drink order. But trouble walked in the door next, and Kylus' courting of Chloe began in earnest.

Action ensues when pirates attack the cruiser with the apparent intention of kidnapping the human females to sell back to the Dominion. And Chloe had belonged to a high-ranking Dominion officer who wanted her back. Kylus has no intention of letting Chloe go now that he's found his mate, and things go from bad to worse as they attempt to escape the cruiser and elude bounty hunters. It's pretty intense.

This story has good structure and carries the reader along at a good pace; maybe too good a pace. I withheld the highest rating because I feel the story could have been fleshed out more and given more depth. All in all, however, it's a fun and steamy adventure, and Kylus and Chloe both achieve their HEA.

Kylus, the male alien lead, is on a forced vacation, having been tricked by the rest of his crew. When he spots Chloe, the human female lead, working as a waitress on his space cruise ship, he’s enthralled and surprised at the potential mate prospect she presents. When pirates attack the cruise ship, trying to steal human females, Kylus takes Chloe to safety on a friend’s shuttle and then onto a nearby moon for his crew to retrieve them. But pirates are everywhere and Chloe has a bounty on her head because the owner she escaped from wants her back…

This novella is dual POV, well written and edited, and a funny, sexy, action filled read. I enjoyed Kylus’ changing perspective on vacations and his pleasure at having located a truly compatible mate prospect. I appreciated his genuine care for Chloe’s wellbeing. I enjoyed Chloe surprise at Kylus’ care and engagement with no invitation, her appreciation of his lack of pushiness. I enjoyed the relationship development and the action packed plot. I enjoyed the intimate scenes and the resolution regarding lifestyle. I also enjoyed the epilogue. I first read this in a fundraising anthology and this is an individual release of the same story with no changes.

This book was so good and every book I’ve read by this author has me on the edge of your seat as she takes you on a wild ride that you know it must end but you wish you didn’t at the same time. Chloe is a human that wants a better life after Earth was Conquered by the Dominions and she finally gets the chance when a job comes up on Star Beauty Cruiser as a waitress and everything is working out well and the sexy Tallean male who keeps hitting on her and she is thinking about a vacation fling with him until they are attacked by Pirates who want the human females so they can sell them back to the Dominions and there is one human female Chloe that a High Ranking Officer wants his property back. Kylus is a tallean warrior fighter and a mercenary who can be hired on dangerous missions at a hefty price and and now his crew mates have con him into a vacation on board a Cruise Ship the Star Beauty and when he meets Chloe for the first time he believes she is his mate and sets about making her his and now they are under attacked by pirates and with Chloe and his friend Zeylam and Ashe his mate they try to escape because there is no way he is letting them take away hie mate after he just found her. There is so much more to this book that will keep the reader wanting more.

Reading this has made me want to read Zeylum and Ashe's story once again. I just love the Talleans. Kylus has been tricked. He was quite happy working but it seems that all his friends, his crewmates have tricked him into having a vacation. What is he supposed to do with one of those? Pointless! That is until the second day into his cruise he catches a scent that will not let him go. He is fighter, a merc, nothing to write home about, how could he have been blessed with a mate and yet here she is right in front of him and some slime is grabbing her. Oh heck no! Chloe wanted adventure, she wanted excitement what she did not want was to get kidnapped and be owned by an alien. She's managed to get out of that life but she is still looking for that excitement and it seems to be completely embodied by the huge Tallean with the mesmerising green eyes sat in her section. He practically screams Wild to her, but is it the kind of wild she can cope with? Too late adventure has arrived for her in the shape of pirates attacking the ships. Wild is starting to look mighty good right now!

No lie, I really enjoy these Talleans and their possessive streaks. Kylus is attracted to Chloe the moment he lays eyes on her, but she has a no fraternization policy with guests. That doesn't stop Kylus from tracking her down to spend time with her and she's VERY close to breaking her rule when everything goes sideways.

Sideways as in: the cruise ship is attacked, human females are being grabbed, and the growly mercenary is her best chance for survival.

On Kylus's end, he's a mercenary and a fighter and he's very aware that most females don't want that sort of life. But when the ship is attacked and he and Chloe end up on a dangerous moon with only one another to rely on, he knows he'll do whatever he needs to do to keep her by his side.

A little danger, some really creepy pirates, a couple of nasty males looking to cash in on a bounty, a mercenary who will burn down the world for his special someone, and a lady who knows a good male when she sees him. *thumbs up*

Chloe had originally taken a job on the space cruise liner because she craved adventure. That is where she met Kylus who was on vacation and recognized she was his mate. What started off as a leisurely interplanetary cruise for Kylus, turned into a survival adventure for him and Chloe when the spaceship got attacked by a fleet of space pirates.

Protecting Chloe became a full time job as they kept encountering one danger after another until Kylus was able to get her on board his ship, the Death Trap. Joining Kylus as his mate on the Death Trap was a perfect fit for Chloe and her sense of adventure. I liked their happy ending.

Entertaining novella sized story, sprinkled with humor and spice. Chloe and Kylus were both very likable characters. Nice addition to the Tallean series.

I always know when I pick up a book by Lynnea Lee that I am going to treated to a well-written book with wonderful characters. This book is a space version of a vacation fling. Kylus was tricked into taking a vacation by his crew. Initially annoyed, he finds that his friend Zeylam and his mate Ashe are on the same cruise ship. Also on the ship is Chloe, who works in the restaurant. Kylus is immediately drawn to her and feels she could be his mate.

After pirates attack the ship to take the women, Kylus and Zeylam escape with Ashe and Chloe. Kylus chooses to wait on a nearby inhabited moon for his crew to pick them up. However, there are bounty hunters on the moon...and they are after Chloe.

Can Kylus keep Chloe safe? And will she want to become his mate?.

What a sweet story. Chloe ends up getting her wish to travel on a luxury cruise vessel. The Star Beauty on excursions to beautiful untamed planets and serves scrumptious meals and great pay. She ends up meeting Kylus who's on vacation and knows that she is his mate. Their story goes into survival mode when Chloe and Kylus are attacked by space pirates. Kylus and Zeylam feel the pirates and they take Ashe and Chloe with them to a nearby moon and wait for Kylus's crew on his ship, The Death Trap. I loved the storyline and the main character of Kylus and Chloe's relationship is steaming hot. We also get new characters of Tallean warriors that need to meet their mates. I hope this is for upcoming book in the Tallean series. I loved this story and the HEA. Perfect.

Kylus is part of a space mercenary crew. Having no one waiting at home for him, he hates taking vacations. Instead he spends his shore leaves fighting in no kill matches. He is an elite fighter. This leave is different. His crew mates trick him into going on a space cruise as a vacation with not even a fight scheduled. He does meet an old friend, Zeylum and his human mate Ashe. While he is talking to them he notices Chloe, a human server on the cruise ship. He knows instantly that she is his fated mate. He steps in and saves from a demanding customer who wants to force her. He and Chloe have dinner together and get closer. Then Space pirates attack the cruise ship and demand the human women. Kylus will do whatever it takes to protect his future mate.

Kylus is a mercenary and part time fighter. His crew tricks him into taking a vacation on a cruise ship. He is pretty mad until he smells his mate!

Chloe is a human that was kidnapped from earth by the Dominion. She finally escapes and is enjoying her life working on the cruise ship. She is sure she will never trust a Tallean again, until she meets Kylus. There’s something about him that she can’t resist.

But before they can really get to know each other the cruise ship is attacked by pirates working for the Dominion. They want the females back that escaped from them. Can this poor girl ever get a break? She can if Kylus can free her!

Great book with lots of action!.

As stated this novella takes place in the Tallean Mercenaries universe. I was able to thoroughly enjoy the book as quick stand-alone read. However, I'm drawn towards starting that series to learn more about this part of Lynnea Lee's universe yet to be explored.

Once again, I'm hooked immediately on a new series and cannot wait for the next book where I'm sure we'll meet more of the characters. Lots of action and angst covered in such a short book. Lynnea Lee is one of the few authors that doesn't fill 300+ page books with fluff and this is the first novella for me. Again, extremely impressed how quickly and well-built the world and characters were created.

I love this exciting, action packed beautifully written story about an escaped human slave Chloe new life full of danger from attacking pirates, monsters, new alien friends and a mate. Chloe first sees Kylus a Tallean warrior at work and when a drunken bully grabs her Kylus rescues her, and when Pirates attack the Wildview Starliner where Chloe works Kylus fights his way to her and they escape the ship landing on a moon. More pirates hunt through the jungle to steal Chloe for the bounty on she. Monsters underground, traps and close calls. And a Happy Ever After. This is so entertaining I read it start to end couldn’t put it down.

Kylus has been tricked into having a vacation by his Captain, little did he realize he would find his mate. Chloe is working on the cruise liner as a waitress in the bar after escaping being a slave. She is rescued from a very handsy customer who won't take no for an answer by Kylus. When the ship is attacked by pirates and Chloe is taken Kylus has to do whatever it takes to rescue his mate but with a large bounty on her head and very little backup it will be more difficult than he thought. A great addition to the Tallean Mates series. Hot and steamy and full of action and adventure, you will be hooked from the start as you follow Chloe and Kylus and their path to true love.

Fantastic Sci-fi Adventure!

Chloe is a human working on a luxury space cruise ship. While working on the ship, Chloe grabs the attention of a big burly possessive Tallean fighter named Kylus. Everything is going as it should be until they’re attacked by space pirates.

Now Chloe and Kylus are on an unexpected adventure to save their own lives and Kylus has a special interest in this human woman because she’s his mate. Full of action, adventure, danger and thrill! A great read and continuation of the series and Tallean fighters!

A definite must read and Lynnea Lee has a number of great series to enjoy! Well done!

loved it !! love this series !! I've read everything by this author and you should , too !!! love Chloe and Kylus ! this is their story.. a fast paced action packed drama... Chloe is an escaped human and now a waitress on the Star Beauty Cruise Ship.. she wants adventure... Kylus is a warrior and cage fighter on a forced vacay... yeah, he's not too happy about that ! he meets Chloe in the bar she works on board and feels something.. he doesn't quite know what... Chloe is attracted to him ,too... okay, more than ... just when it gets interesting... pirates attack and they must flee.... so good !!! twists and more... pirates... so good !!! just love Tallaens...

Such a fun and enjoyable alien/human romance with plenty of adventure. A sexy alien mercenary who fights on the side, Kylus, first comes to Chloe’s rescue from an altercation with another passenger in the space cruise ships bar. He then rescues her from a pirate invasion, and his heroics continue to rack up as they escape to a moon with dangerous creatures, an inhospitable climate and bounty hunters looking to cash in on the bounty placed on Chloe.

This novella length read is entertaining and very enjoyable. Brief appearances by Zeylum and his human mate, Ashe, add to the fun.

I have loved the Tallean Mates series since I found Lynnea Lee's book in 2022. The great thing about this book is that you don't need to have read the previous books to read this novella even though some of the characters from the main series appear in the book. In fact I'm hoping that this novella is introducing a new storyline that we will see in future books! The new cast of characters introduced here are fun and the best part is they don't mates yet so we've got a whole new ship of Tallean warrior pirates that need to meet their mate!.

Kylus (H), a Tallean mercenary and match fighter, is tricked by his friends into taking a vacation aboard a luxury space cruise vessel where he meets drinks server Chloe (h), a formerly enslaved human who now seeks new adventures and places to travel to. The ship is attacked by pirates working for the Dominion who seek to recapture the former human slaves, and Kylus escapes with Chloe to a nearby moon to keep her safe. Things heat up between the pair as try to stay safe from their enemies and await rescue by Kylus’s friends. Hot and steamy alien-human romantic quickie with plenty of heat and danger.

Chloe, having escaped her kidnapper from Earth, takes a job aboard the luxury space liner, Wildview Starliner. Kylus, one of the customers, rescues her from a drunken loat. He immediately recognises her as his one, but just as he is working at winning her love the Starliner is attacked by pirates.

Chloe and Kylus are thrown into an adventure to outsmart and outrun the pirates and make their way to his mercenary ship and his brothers in arms.

A wonderful fast paced alien adventure with all the passion you would expect between the two main characters.

Kylus is not the vacationing type, but here he is, trying to make the best of it, which gets a lit easier when he meets Chloe.

Chloe doesn't date passengers on their galactic cruise ship, it's not a corporate policy but a personal one... and as rules go, maybe this one has found its time to be broken.

This done in one kindle unlimited quick read is fun, filled with adventure and a leading man willing to learn about other cultures, and be creative when the situation calls for it.

If you are looking for a sci-fi romance with action, this is a book for you. Chloe fulfills her dreams to travel by signing onto a space cruise line. When things turn bad, our hero steps in.

This is the second book from this author - I enjoyed the first and expected this to be a good read. I enjoyed the mix of romance and story to give the read a little something extra to the story. It kept me engaged throughout the book. The book is well-written with fully developed characters. An entertaining read with guaranteed HEA.

An enjoyable story that's about Chloe a human who works on a luxury space cruise at the bar as a waitress and Kylus a Tallean fighter is on vacation with his comrades on the Star Beauty cruiser. When Kylus meets Chloe, he realizes she is his mate. Kylus courts Chloe. Then pirates attack the cruiser and round up the human women to sell back to the Dominion, only Kylus is determined to save his mate. Does he? The characters were likable, and their romance was steamy. The storyline was well paced and an entertaining read that I volunteer to read and review this copy I received.

I loved the fun, cute and quick story. As always the Tallean warriors are very protective of the females they decide are their mates.
I liked Chloe. She to me is the sunshine, brightening up everyone's day . Seeing the positive in pretty much everything.
I love what Kylus does on he's vacation. (the one he was tricked into going on).
The chemistry between them was undeniable. Action , adventure and of course plenty of steamy romance.
I liked the twists to the story also.
A heart warming HEA to make you smile.

I love the series and the book. Another fantastic story by Ms Lee. Chloe was kidnapped from Earth, sold to an alien, escaped and now works on a Luxury cruise ship. She has been keeping to herself and enjoying her freedom when she meets Kylus. He saves her from a Tallean male that is harassing her. Kylus realizes that she is his mate and now he has to get her to fall in love with him. Their adventure begins when the ship is attacked.

Kylus is a bit of a workaholic and has been tricked by his workmates and friends into taking a vacation. He has no idea what he is going to do with his free time until he catches a scent that will change his future…his one. Chloe wanted excitement and fun and adventure, what she didn’t want was to be kidnapped by an alien! She's manages to escape and still looking for a thrill runs into a huge Tallean! She’s in for her biggest adventure yet with the steamy chemistry between Kylus and herself!.

Okay, so this is the 4th Tallean mates series book that i loved. I like how this is going.
I love love love that in this series (so far) they BOTH fall in love from the start and there is none if that fake issue about "oh i will resist or that I cant possibly be his mate or we can never be together or I hate him" and then the female resists 5minutes until suddenly magically she is in love.. like what.
Here we have both in love and then there is adventure 😄 and more love in the end. This is my kind of story.

This is a novella so the relationship progresses extremely quickly which I did not love but overall it was a decent read.

I also think that I need to give these Lynnea Lee Kindle Unlimited spicy alien romances a break before the shine completely wears off and I can't read them anymore. The repetition of various character traits and the unnatural feeling dialogue cannot possibly be new things in these books but I'm not overlooking them the way I used to. These are usually my fast fun evening reads so it would be disappointing if I wasn't able to use them for that anymore.
