The Awkward Yeti is a unique children's picture book that introduces the concept of personality differences in a subtle, simple and silly way for very young readers. Its large text and bold illustrations make it perfect for very young children learning to read and just beginning to make friends. The Awkward Yeti explores behavior that both kids and adults can relate to, making it great for parents too. It's a very quick read that you can enjoy with your kids over and over again!
Creator of The Awkward Yeti and its New York Times Bestselling Heart and Brain series, the "Kind of a Big Deal" series for Scholastic, the card game OrganATTACK and many others. Nick resides in Michigan with his overly affectionate cat, Taz, and has three amazing kids. He enjoys thinking about wanting to run, playing guitar okayly, and being generally childlike.
Thank you. won it at first-reads I really enjoyed this book and it's message: be who you are that makes you, you. I think that children and people will like this picture book to share. It was sweet.
The book itself is a little awkward and it takes some time to digest, but the illustrations, and overarching message are what makes it a fantastic picture book. I look forward to reading more of the author's work.
I am all for any book that teaches children to be proud of who they are and celebrate their uniquenes. This book is adorable and can teach the child in all of us good lessons. FIVE STARS.
I love how it showed how Lars may appear to be different and may do things that other people find odd but at the end of the day that's what makes him and that's okay too.
It's always nice to read something and go "I'm not alone. I'm not the only weirdo out there." The Awkward Yeti and Sarah's Scribbles have made me feel this more than anything I've ever read.
2 stars. Alright so this is prob too low a rating but I ended up finishing it and going, 'What?'. I had assumed it was going to be more like the authors other book, "Heart and Brain: Body Language: An Awkward Yeti Collection" but I was wrong. Instead I had read this in about 60 seconds. Start to finish. Even that might have been too long, I could have finished it in even 45 seconds. Anyway, doesnt matter too much.
Looking at this as pre-schooler level book it is a good one and id give it 3 stars for that. The message it sends about 'awkwardness', what it is and that its perfectly acceptable to be like Mr Yeti, is a positive one for little kids to know and understand. I believe that this book, along with the excellent colouring of the images, sends that message. So id actualky prob bump it up an extra half star for that giving it 3.5 stars.
So adding those two together and this book is 3 stars in total.
I think the book was good but I readed it To fast but I stilled loved it.I loved it it’s was weird but I enjoyed this I wish more ppl will like this comment and think it’s helpful for kids that are at kindergarten well really liked the book!.....UWU 🥴👉🏽👈🏽
In my kindle unlimited binge, I admittedly didn't read the description carefully. But that aside, this is still a children's book that I can't really endorse for its lack of substance or tact. Definitely wouldn't pay for it either.
