I love short stories but am just a bit wary of love stories. However I end up reading most of the anthologies published in India, whatever the genre. This is by far the BEST love story collection I have read till date. The stories are crisp, well written and edited and most leave a warm afterglow in your heart. Go for it if you like short stories/ love stories.

It is a collection of good and average love stories shortlisted in a nation wide contest by Penguin India which is the best part about the book. They had organised a nation wide competition and finally the top 25 where selected which got published here. Ravinder did his part too by editing and making it better.

It definitely has some moving, inspirational, heartwarming and heartbreaking stories which makes you believe that some of these authors will go and become big names in future for sure.

Go for it just to see how a love story can unfold in less than 10 pages and still leave an impression on us.

3 stars are for the books I 'just' like. In a way, it was a nice read and a worthy concept by the writer.
Since its a compilation of love stories submitted by different people, one might conclude with different opinions for each one.
Some are peppy, some heart-touching and some average (strictly according to me).
All in all, its a good one for a quick read. :)

This is a collection of 25 stories with the theme "Love" based on a contest. Edited by Ravindra Singh with an introduction. Easy and quick read. I find few stories interesting as well as touching.

Ravinder earlier two books- ‘I too have a love story’ and ‘Can Love happen Twice’ were really nothing much to talk about. They were simple- quite honest but lacked twist and the power to keep you glued on. So picking up ‘Love Stories That Touched My Heart‘ was definitely risky. Being an anthology with a spread of short love stories by diverse set of young authors was the bait and yours truly fell for it.

Contest was organised by PENGUIN- so I trust this publisher to do a great job. The stories were selected by Ravinder - and here was the dicey part. Quality lies in quantity- so whatever maybe the process and the selector- the contest with more than 2000 entries would throw up a spectrum of stories. The romantic in me was willing to give it a try. rest of the review at http://creative.sulekha.com/love-stor...

After two super hit novels from the author a lot was expected in this collection of stories but it fails to generate any spark and doesnt lives upto the expectations.

Very boring stories and very much similar to each other doesnt seems to justify the author's potential.

Not up to the mark.

The editorial note spoke high about the writers whose works have been compiled which compelled me to buy the book.Unfortunately the stories lacked class, depth and are very childish. It might have touched the editor's heart but it certainly fails to touch a reader's heart. I am amazed how the Penguin metro reads chose to publish such average material. It is just not impressive.

Book really contains some stories which touches heart. Some stories are written be amateur writers. Ravinder did spent a lot of time in selecting best 25 stories. You will really like the stories if you ever have been touched by beautiful thing Love. :)

Nothing exciting stories... no any charm writing.. but worth for beginner of English literature. A good attempt by Ravindeer Shing that he assist to encourage the beginners. I hardly found the professionalism of writing.

Love stories.....the word has beauty...inexpressable and pure....and through out the book most stories maintained that pure feeling..."Heartstrings","flirting","a pair of shoes","the last note" and many more stories were beautifully written and seriously 'touched my heart'. "Just because I made love to u..." wasn't worth being a part of the book because it wasn't at all a love story. But for I love Ravinder Singh I would say this was a nyc book. Looking forward to read 'Your dreams are mine now'......

Good to see this anthology from Ravin has covered the precious feeling of Love from almost all age groups. Right from the school going boy in "The Girl behind the counter" to the old aged peoples in "Love is also a Compromise" & "A pair of shoes". Truly said that Love has no age and it can blossom in your heart at any moment of your life. Only thing you need to keep the doors wide open to welcome it wholeheartedly. Really enjoyed reading..

The best short stories collection I have read till date !

If the stories are from same author, there will be some similarities among them.. At some point, there will be thought of monotony..
But, since this one is a compilation from different authors, there is lot of variety to enjoy ... !
Though all stories are based on love, they displayed variety in love..

There are few stories which are not up to the mark.. But there are many that will touch our heart <3
