I was watching the Aquaman movie yesterday, for the first time. It made me sentimental for the cartoon Justice League of my youth. Or was it Superfriends? My youth was long ago.
This was a good book about friendship and teamwork. My favorite parts were riding the seahorses and the skill of being able to control water. Fun!

I am not the intended audience for these books, so I feel like I can’t rate them. But I read this book to a six years old and an (almost) four years old. They enjoyed it. It kept their attention. I had fun reading it to them.
This book for children seems to be based on the 60s/70s continuity for Aquaman. Not that that is a bad thing as that is the continuity I grew up reading. The Justice League members here (besides Aquaman) are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. This of course is not the entire League but for the size of the book in terms of page count this is likely a good number. As well the ones missing were ones that would have difficulty functioning underwater (though there is a 50s Green Arrow story entitled "The Underwater Archers"). Given what type of this book is (one for early readers) I found this to be a pretty good story. In fact it would have made a decent issue of Justice League of America at one time. It was also nice to see Mera here as I recall her. All in all a decent book and one that will not be out of place on either a child's bookshelf or in the library of a JLA fan.
It's surprisingly fun to voice the Aquaman character. These characters reminding me of the super friends. They're pretty light, not too violent, and Involve interesting creatures like the seahorses and Aquaman's pet octopus topo. The adversaries are Black manat and King shark. Enjoyable read. This is a level to reader.
On a scale of 1 - 5, 1 is the best, right? Because this book is awesome. I just couldn't figure out why Aquaman served fresh land fruit at his banquet under the sea for the Super Friends.
Standard fare superhero story. Young boys will love this. However, it got an increase of one star for simply having King Shark in this. King Shark makes everything more awesome.
Reading this now with my youngest daughter. Read it 2 years ago with my son. She loved reading about the super heroes she watches. And The I Can read books help her build confidence.
