USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author Rita Herron fell in love with books at the ripe age of eight when she read her first Trixie Belden mystery. But she didn’t think real people grew up to be writers, so she became a teacher instead. Now she writes so she doesn’t have to get a real job. With over ninety books to her credit, she’s penned romantic suspense, romantic comedy and YA novels, but she especially likes writing dark romantic suspense and crime fiction set in small southern towns. I love it. I am glad Lance realized that maddie was the one holding the family together, It is ironic that best friends are becoming Inlaws. The romance was sweet between sophie and lance. I loved how they were so aloke and went through similar childhoods. By that mean I mean difficulties. I anticiapted this book and was not disappointed. I loved the characters of lucy and reed. However, I hated how sophie was embarrased about her past and treated her mom. Lucy seemed much more forgiving. There was a lot less sex than in the first book,. marry me maddie and I enjoyed that. Do reed and Lucy ever keep their clothes on. The diet coke dates were awesome, as were their other horrendous dates, with other people, The fact that sophie introduced her mom and her past came me goosebumps on the show. Madiie was a character , and I loved her schemeing. I cried at the end of the story. It might be because I believe in soulmates. The vegas scenes were holarious, yet moving. The insecurities Lucy showed were sweet, alothough I do not believe in that hocus pocus stuff. It was great when reed and lucy made up. Lance was so sweet, offering to be lucy's big brother. She was so vulnerable yet strong, and realized the errors of her ways. The novela can't be half as good as Sleepless in savannah. It was my favorite out of the two stories i read.
MARRY ME, MADDIE - This is the first book in The Bachelor Pact series. Although, I read the second book first, I was eager to read Maddie & Chase's story! Maddie is an Interior Decorator with two overprotective brothers and in a going nowhere relationship with her boyfriend of 4 years, Jeff. Chase is an Architect and best friends with Maddie's brothers. When Maddie gives her boyfriend a very public, ultimatum, she finally realizes her freedom and in doing so discovers her childhood crush for Chase as evolved. Will a confirmed bachelor break his pact and settle down or will he walk away. As with Book 2, I found myself laughing out loud at times and unable to put it down!! I loved it! SLEEPLESS IN SAVANNAH - Definitely a funny, romantic comedy thrill ride. Take a determined confirmed bachelor and a strong, sexy TV Talk Show Host running from her past, add a scheming best friend and meddlesome little sister and you have romantic chaos! I loved Lance and Sophie's story! I laughed out loud at times. I LOVE LUCY - In this short Christmas novella we get Reid & Lucy's story that started in "Sleepless in Savannah" but with a mystery twist! It was sweet and funny and a great way to wrap up the series!
This is the 1st books I read by Rita Herron. Book 1 I thought Maddie was kind of desperate for going on a show just for her boyfriend to marry her. I understand Maddie's brothers wanted to protect her, but I felt they treated her like a child. Book 2 I liked a few things about it. Sophie's show reminded me of the show Love Connection. I liked Lance's character but I thought Sophie was too immature for him. Book 3 the story line was good. The book started off really good. The stalker was very sick. Out of all the 3 books book 3 was my favorite.
This is a wonderful set! A contemporary romance that will definitely make you laugh out loud! It has wonderful heartwarming connections, a few steamy scenes, and a little suspense thrown in too! It has a wonderful message about things in your past and keeping secrets from those you love. I definitely recommend these three books! I have read so many Rita Herron books, and I love them. The bachelor pact was actually something really cave man like and so backward but in the end no matter how stubborn the Summers men were, they ended up breaking that stupid pact and settling down.Got this from Amazon as a frebbie, loved it.Look forward to reading more of her books.
I purchased this trilogy on a whim as I not yet read any of Herron's work. I found this series amusing and entertaining. The characters were quirky, but still believable. I wish the second and third stories had been longer and had allowed for more in depth character development. I will definitely be purchasing more of Herron's work.
