About the author

Ralf König was born on the 8th of August in Soest, Westphalia, Germany. He went to the secondary school in Werl and then later did an apprenticeship as a cabinet-maker. In 1979 during his coming-out he published his first short comic stories which due to the politically motivated gay-movement were very engaged. The comic-stories appeared in the Munich underground magazine Zomix as well as in the gay periodical Rosa Flieder. He decided to continue his studies and then trained at the National Academy of Art in Düsseldorf from 1981-1986 concentrating on Free Art.

La verdad es que me ha hecho mucha gracia y el hecho de que esté basado en una comedia de hace 2400 años me ha hace interesarme por la literatura clásica y querer darle una oportunidad al original a ver qué tal

Lysistrata, die Heldin in Aristophanes Komödie hatte die Idee, mit völlig unprofessionellen Methoden endlich für Frieden zu sorgen. Mit Frauenpower wird der Mann an seiner Achillesferse gepackt. Allerdings befindet sich diese sprichwörtliche Schwachstelle nicht! in den Schuhen, sondern pikanter weise etwas höher in der Hose.
Ralf König hat mit seiner Comicvariante dafür gesorgt, dass die Geschichte nun für ein breiteres Publikum zugänglich ist :D

Lysistrata but make it queer: Eine sehr unterhaltsame Umwandlung der antiken Komödie, ohne zu sehr von der Grundidee des Originals abzuweichen. Oder vielleicht doch? Ich empfehle definitiv beide Lektüren!

Btw, c’est écrit par un homo boomer. Donc oui, certains points me font grincer des dents. Mais c’est tellement drôle. Vraiment. Nous avons besoin de lire Lysistrata aujourd’hui. C’est une très bonne adaptation qui comprend l’œuvre. C’est hilarant. Mais juste parfois, ok boomer.
